    I think thats the perfect amount of notching. Iv watched videos where they turned it into swiss cheese with notches everywhere. Moderation is the key here.

    I never add comments to youtube videos but you deserve it. This video and the amplex review video helped me dial in an amazing lamb of god tone via free plugins. I'm absolutely blown away with what is coming out of my speakers. Thank you so very much.

    Easy to hear changes in EQ even on an iPhone speaker! Translates well to the overall mix. This is a great demonstration of “using your ears”!

    Such a brutal and monstrous tone, it's just amazing! Great advice and techniques given here to get things dialed in properly to deal with that massive wall of sound. This is probably the most difficult part of music production with our genre of music since you can tweak until you finally go insane. For those of us who are halfway there already, these tips really help! Thanks for the great video and ear candy this morning! 👑🎸🔥

    Great tip. Used to do alot of EQ on guitars. Until i got my hands on the Bogren digital IR's. Now I hardly do any EQ at all. Jens did them for me :)

    I have always had problems with my guitar tone and thank god i fogured out about this 4k frequency like an year ago. Really no one talks about how problematic it can be, so thank you for spreading some awareness for the people that still wonder what's wrong with their tone

    I totally agree with you on this. And I'm primarily a drummer. LoL. Sometimes people just really don't wanna change their IR much less a physical cab or mic placement (if they recorded themselves and sent it to me). Great video.

    I use the stock ReaEq. I have some unwanted fizz from my amp sim, I did a slight cut at 3k after I watched this vid. It helped quite a bit. Thank you.

    Great stuf!
    There's enough going on where you're just shaping and fitting the tone in the mix better, but keeping the life of the unprocessed guitars in there.
    That riff is all power as well.

    Also a tip is when you EQ the guitars, don't listen to the guitars, but rather what it does to the drums / overall mix.

    No way 😂 I was thinking about commenting on one of your videos if you could do a video about eq and notching and then this comes out 😂😂😂 !!!
    Thanks a lot for this, actually I inspired from one of your previous videos and started notching NAM profiles that I use in Genome. I have found a sweet spot around 4.3 KHz which makes a night and day difference for high gain profiles.
    They sound absolutely killer after this notch. I monitor with DT 770 pro and I can very clearly hear the difference it makes.
    And if I could have a wish, I would love to see you cover the IR loader Cabinetron plugin.
    This thing combined with NAM is just pure awesomeness !!!

    Gotta love how badass those LePou plugins sound.
    So, not relevant to this video, but, have you considered making a video about drum programming? I always struggle with stuff like ghost notes and your drums always sound pretty killer

    If you find that your always doing the same eq moves then you can edit your irs. i high passed and low passed my ir so i dont have to do that in the mix

    • @resington
      @resington  2 месяца назад

      If the moves are exactly the same every time yeah. I do change things here and there though.

    Hi,
    Quick question, why are you dipping 2k and 3.5k in a bus instead of dipping them in the guitars respective EQ?
    I'm not very familiar with EQ'ing, do you use a bus for dipping/boosting similar frequencies?

    • @resington
      @resington  Месяц назад

      Preference, bus is across all guitars. Same move. On the individual track obv it just affects that guitar. So it's just what works for you.

  • @HEZ63
    @HEZ63 2 месяца назад

    Using an eq only reduces the symptoms, but not the cause itself, so it is a stupid solution, at least for me.
    What are you doing then on stage without your computer?

    • @Simula77
      @Simula77 2 месяца назад

      Believe it or not but they have eq on stage and use it.

    • @HEZ63
      @HEZ63 2 месяца назад

      @@Simula77 Then - whoever it is - they are using the wrong gear in my opinion.
      But ok, not my problem anyway.
