Please a request from my side No one on RUclips tells about how to smooth just a piano when it's a lead like for eg for a piano song Please just tell how to firstly clear muds and fill out frequencies while using piano only as our main highlight
Had Mozart access to modern tech, I wonder how it might help him OR hurt him. I’m guessing him remixing his pieces would be… good. Here’s a mix that I found today and thought of you. There’s so much music out there and I’ve not really kept up with what’s a “hit” in over a decade. Thanks again for your contribution to the art of production. No matter what your videos cover, I have to watch them. ruclips.net/video/zE86DekBRSI/видео.html Bye for now… 🇺🇸🇬🇧
OH… quick thought: listening to your tutorials without monitors or monitor headphones is perhaps worth warning viewers on regularly, even if just in description or comments. Many surely know better, but occasionally the temptation to use expedient, less dynamic devices or Bluetooth products is great. I’m guilty of having sometimes done so, with the intention of listening again later. It’s easy to forget as there’s so much competition for our time.
i have almost finished my first song and i really want to thank you, thank you so much for providing all this free lessons ❤️ always praying for your well-being ❤️ love and respect to you from india 🙏🏼
TDR is the best!!! Also guys please dont sleep on the tabs you see at the top. You switch to mono / side / left / right etc almost in each of their plugins so your mixing becomes more precise. Thank you Michael as always!!!!
I watch a lot of tutorial videos. There are a lot of great people out there. I have learned many great things from them. Your videos are really the most honest, inspiring. You stay faithfull to the same phylosophy, of simplicity and tolerance. You make the most advanced technics and concepts, accessible to everyone. This, because you explain each idea, very clearly, and you show cheap, or even, free solutions, encouraging us to make the best out of any tools (soft or hardware). I bought Vital, because I admire this generosity, among deverloppers also. Many Thanks, for all those beautiful videos.
Your channel turned me on to the TDL plug-ins when I was learning… and the NOVA is still one of my favourites (I’ll admit I upgraded to the GE). To this day, I rely on their plugins on all my mixes. Cheers - the technique you’re highlighting is so helpful to people just starting out.
Combining an EQ with a threshold just felt so obvious after I started using it. Nova is basically my go-to now because of that regardless of if I use the compression.
Already familiar with this plugin but I watched the video for your silky, relaxing voice. Had a shit day so thanks for giving me something calm to watch while I eat my dinner. Hope you had a good day today, Michael.
I must admit no one has told me more than you Micheal...Now am able to produce top class songs and slowly becoming a powerful producer....You have really changed me and thanks for all the tutorials....God bless you and continue...From 🇿🇲🇿🇲🇿🇲
The ending segment from 7:30 onward is spot on! Many producers and mix engineers, especially beginners, think that they need to buy certain plugins to sound better and more "professional", but if they would've actually taken the time to dive into their stock plugins, or like how some people say - RTFM, they would become much better producers/engineers, and save money in the long run while buying only what they know they need. Unfortunately I see some experienced producers on RUclips making videos about how they need certain (sometimes expensive) plugins in order to sound better, and they're passing it on to the beginners! So thank you for this.
Aw man, nothings better then finding a free plugin that’s exactly what you’ve been needing but didn’t even know. Can’t wait to try this one out later, i was having some annoyances with eq’ing an acoustic guitar when it got too boomy, but not wanting it to sound thin.
Hey man, hats of to you... Because of you I hv learnt so many things of music production....thank you for everything...everything u hv given...keep it up....n thanks to you...now I hv a small humble channel....
I've been enjoying this one as a straight forward EQ for a while now. I appreciate it can do so much more and I intend to use it in a variety of ways. Kind of a "swiss army knife EQ" really. I love your content. Very helpful thank you.
Nah man fabfilter is so much better, this plug in reminds me of Windows 95. Yeah it can do the same thing but its so much faster and intuitive on fabfilter.
This thing is CRACK. I use it on EVERYTHING. I don't understand why and how it's free, but as a live concept mix and live recording guy, this is my secret weapon. This thing is absolutely insane. I have never in my life experimented an EQ so dynamic and transparent. It feels like going back in time and changing the room and mics... and the fact it's free...!!! It feels like cheating tbh.
So much value you are providing. Thank you. Have been following your tutorial for past 3 years 🙏❤️ I have been using tdr plugins on your recommendation. 🙏❤️ Thank you. Love from India.
Thanks a billion for this vid; it was exactly the help I needed, having just switched to this plugin, from the free Melda offering which wasn't quite cutting it for me..
TDR Nova is still king. I've been reviewing a lot of spectral-balancing plugins lately, but I still reach for TDR Nova or Pro-Q 3 when I want to tame resonances. Thanks for the video!
Michael, wonderfully concise, informative and clear video as always. With regards to TDR Nova, I got hold of it a while back thanks to a previous video of yours where you demonstrated and recommended it. As soon as I started using it, I realized that it quite simply blew away all my other EQ plugins. It's been my go to EQ plugin ever since. Also a big shout out for the TDR Kotelnikov compressor that you also recommended - yet another fantastic TDR plugin that is pretty much my go to compressor plugin. My mixing skills have improved immensely by following In The Mix more than any other channel, and many of the plugins you recommended and demonstrated are pretty much the default options in my DAW. Thank you so much for helping me improve my mediocre mixing skills to something that is now capable of producing results of a much higher standard!
Great stuff. I've been using the GE for a few years. If you like the free stuff, consider supporting TDR. They make very advanced and thoughtful plugins, and they give away slightly reduced feature versions of most of their plugins. It's a business model worth supporting.
Woaaaaaah I just downloaded this plugin and used this tutorial to help clean up my most recent music project that I'm gonna upload on my other channel. There were some low frequencies that were too much and it sounds a lot better! If anyone wants to hear it, lemme know. Otherwise, thanks so much!! Subscribed!!!
Your videos are AWEsome! I've learnt a lot from you more than i could have imagined. Thank you so much! Can you do a short video on how to edit voice overs for audio books or just for youtube tutorials from start to finish with the free plugins you've mentioned in your free plugins video please?
I took the four EQs I've recently acquired, set them 100Hz, 12db boost Q=1.0. My first intent was was to see how close they sound, and if any are sonically superior. I also looked CPU usage. While the others bumped CPU from 1 to 3, the NOVA bumped CPU to 7. Wave F6 Stereo ($29) Blue Cat Triple EQ 4 (Free) HornetTotalEQ ($13) TDR NOVA (Free - but possible CPU hog) Might be something you'd like to replicate. (Determining best sonics is not easy. But they are different.) Thanks and I've learned a lot from your videos to up my FL game.
The TDR Nova is my oldest third party plugin. And while the Nova is great, the GE version is even so much more flexible than many of the competitor's plugins. And frankly, the number of features I miss is small.

👍
Where should I use analogue eq and compressor?
I have tons of software including some "industry standard" stuff and TDR Nova is still my go-to for Dynamic EQ. TDR are legends.
Well said, good tech is good tech
True. I found them about half a year ago, that plug-in is a revelation
Yeah, man. Best free plug in ever
Is it better than it's Fabfilter counterpart?
@@H53. It is Free-er. Haha

Respect to you for being one of the few people who cares to share the secret knowledge behind music production which people keep hidden.
The real secret is creativity to make real what's going in your head

Yessss! TDR Nova has been my goto for dynamic EQ for a while, great to see it getting some love here. That thing has been a godsend for mixing.
Already familiar with this plugin but I watched the video for your silky, relaxing voice. Had a shit day so thanks for giving me something calm to watch while I eat my dinner. Hope you had a good day today, Michael.
I actually use Nova for a lot of time and I really didn't expect you would talk about this! It is a really good EQ to be free. Still Pro-Q rocks lol!
The Soothe shade is incredible
Your student from Indonesia and i just produce my singel song will be released on 29 May. Thanks In The Mix
One of my go-to plugins! I use it mostly on cymbals and for de-essing vocals, but I also use it on my master.
You are the inspiration for me. I am your student from the beginning.
Love you so much ♥️♥️♥️♥️

Man I’m gonna recommend this channel to people who don’t even make music but who miss Bob Ross and just want to muse away and calm their minds
Tdr has created so many amazing free plugin tools. Love it

TDR Nova is king. Unbelievable it's free!
7 dislikes are from people who bought a paid plugin but they suck at using it.
lmaoooo
From the people who bought $300 plugins that do the same job as a free one
Are you implying I should downvote the video?
Nah man fabfilter is so much better, this plug in reminds me of Windows 95. Yeah it can do the same thing but its so much faster and intuitive on fabfilter.
@@vxd but this plugin is free, so why do you complain lol
This plugin is amazing!
Need more of your sound design tutorials in Sytrus~~~Keep up good work !
Whenever I take mixing advice, I listen to the audio on the video. And your mic sounds so silky to me. You smooth bastard.
TDR Nova the greatest

Great video! Thank you for sharing that! This was perfect. The pace of this tutorial is just slow enough a newer user like me can understand.
You’ve almost completely taught me how to mix by yourself 🙏

Been using it for a while now ,in combination with Kotelnikov can make wonders and its free and easy to use. Amazing!
I'm not new to music but always learning something here and there. your videos are tops
dude this technique helps with my bass frequencies so much
Thanks again Mike! I've been using TDR Nova for sometime but have, thanks to this video, learned about some of the features I didn't know it had!
Nova is wonderful, on fact all Tokyo Dawn plugins are superb! 😎
This outta come in handy, thanks for keeping it straight forward
Wow, learn something new everyday. Fab filter is my go to .... could have saved some major coin with this. Great video!

Dyanamic Eq is usually the final thing I put my mix into. Great for mastering in final stages.
Another cool lesson from Mike. TDR Nova is a very helpful tool. Thanks!
