I think Anchorage is a perfect excuse to explain why your character who has no real experience with the real world has combat and survival experience. On fresh characters I like to do the DLC ASAP as a good excuse to get some combat stats high
If I recall correctly, you kept the repellent stick because you were still in the quest that Moira tasks you to use it, so it's marked as a quest item, and quest items can't be removed from your inventory, it's the same technique some players use for the Dead Money DLC in FNV, where they keep the Van Graff combat armor, the fist of rawr, and such to aid them in the DLC
The level suggestion they gave you is kinda wrong: It's not a breeze out the gate, but there's basically no reason not to do it vault-fresh. If anything, the game accounts for you doing it before everything else, since one of the options for being there, if memory serves, is "Looking for my dad", meaning you could canonically do this long before everything else. It'd even account for how the Lone Wanderer, who's basically a kid, could survive the wastes. Can also do the Pitt out-the-vault, and Mothership Zeta actually gets a lot easier since it'll lack the shielded zetans. Wouldn't advise Point Lookout early, since even post-main game, it's needlessly hard.
@@Umbra_Ursus You could go to Point Lookout early just to grab the Ghoul Ecology perk and also the Superior Defender perk and Backwater Rifle right away if you wanna play risky.
I actually love anchorage just for what it adds to gameplay. • you can get power armour training immediately without any of the story being a pre requisite, which is especially nice for people that wanna roleplay or maybe you just always wanna wear power armour • theres an easy glitch to get the simulation versions of all the items you accumulate within the simulation, giving you armour and weapons with infinite durability •this includes ammunition so you can get as much ammunition as you'd like and then go to the pitt next and change that ammo into whatever ammo type you want as theres only like 4 ammo tyoes in the simulation I personally love this dlc just because it really adds a lot for gameplay especially for console players like myself. I remember i used to keep a save file of when i left the simulation with all the stuff, and thats where id start a lot of my games. So yes it kinda sucks but the things and stuff you acquire are top notch
normally i don't mind this DLC but the fact that end reward are indestructible T51 PA that came with PA training before you get to the end of the game sells me.
To be fair it being indestructible was a bug. You receive the "Sim" version which is indeed indestructible. But you were meant to get one that did degrade normally.
Hate, I love this dlc, I love doing it first for both "Lore" and loot reasons. One it explains why our fresh face teen could survive and thrive in the wasteland, and second the loot is just amazing, even if you dont glitch the game. Unbreakable power armor anyone.
Same exact reasoning. Gave that to Charon along with Eugene. Kept Prototype Medic armor w outcast helmet and Vengeance for myself. Cross w Gauss Rifle and Sydney stacked w Sniper Rifles
Fun video my man, personally I've only really ever played the main story of Fallout 3, because I didn't get into Fallout as a teenager until I played New Vegas for the first time, and then from there I just speedran through Fallout 3's story just so I could finish it and return to taking my time in New Vegas. 😅 I'll be looking forward to this series of yours continuing to cover it though, so keep up the good work at a comfortable pace and have a good one!
I've been wondering for quite some time now when that Twisted Metal content well would run dry....lol, no but you did a well enough job that I never got sick of it. Hell, it even appears as though your Twisted Metal content alone netted you almost or perhaps even well over 2/3rds of your subs. Good job, 👍
What worst is that Todd proclaimed that his idea was him when in it reality it was Tim Cain himself So now Todd will retcon everything in favor for the Brotherhood of Steel as some kind of Power Ranger.
I was surprised you thought this one was the worst DLC. Playing through Fallout 3 right now I thought Anchorage was a fun little Call of Duty style expansion but granted I had so many mods to alter the gunplay so that probably carried it in my mind lmao. I appreciated the break in just being able to shoot things mindlessly and when I came out of the simulation it felt a bit jarring to see the post-war world again which I thought was a great effect. Point Lookout is just so boring to me, I hate thinking about slogging through any of Bethesda's DLC because of how much I just don't think it's done well in any way. Mothership Zeta should be fun but it just feels like another boring DLC to check off the box until I'm officially done with the game. Great video! I can completely understand all of your points despite me liking the DLC.
Always liked this DLC. It's interesting to see the American Propaganda put into the simulation, also it's a way to get more interactions with the Outcasts, however little.
Always did Anchorage 1st & love it! Not only do u get free levels doing a fun dlc but also power armor training. Add to that a nice free private base if u kill everyone & hide the bodies in a closet or kill them all as soon as u arrive & use them to get unlimited durability dlc weapons 😂. Early game power armor unlimited durability weapons a free home easy 9/10 for me!
In my last couple runs of fallout 3 I rushed Anchorage right after getting intelligence bobble. You dont need to be lvl 15 to clear it. You can also get the gear from it out. That means super durability weapons and tons of ammo... at nearly start of game. Also power armor that looks good
The whole dialogue with the pip boy at the beginning represents everything Bethesda gets wrong with this DLC (and really the entire series). No matter how you respond to the outcast, they’re not actually interested in it. It’s just a means to an end to get you to the next quest marker. Lazy as lazy can be.
It is a linear don't get me wrong, but a change of pace of gameplay is sometimes nice. The DLC has plenty of variety of unique's! Yeah don't get me wrong it is stupidly easy, you could just go to the quest literally at level 3? Overall I do love Anchorage, but the only reason I love it is because of the OP armor you could get... You know what the bugout lot that you could get out from the simulation.
the insane dickriding of fallout 3 is crazy when nv does literally everything imaginable about fo3 significantly better, fo3 is good but fnv is just better fo3

Mothership Zeta: Hold my lifeless corridors.
I have good memories of this dlc, as a kid it was the only one my parents ever got me so It’d be part of my replay cycle

the only thing I like about this dlc is how it basically removes the need to repair armor from the game with the winterized t-51
The need to repair weapons too if you do the Gary glitch

It’s sad that they killed a Gary Clone To try & get in the Simulation

My Repellent stick took down everything on Mothership Zeta.
What worst is that Todd proclaimed that his idea was him when in it reality it was Tim Cain himself

It gave us indestructible t-51b power armor. It’s worth it.

"I love Fallout 3"
ALERT THE INQUISITION
Fallout 3 remake hype is real
Pray for a new vages remake

I always thought I was just bad because I had trouble picking up the items in this DLC lol. I swear they are smaller than base game.
I love anchorage, closest we’ll ever get to a pre war fallout

I could never get into 3 but I really enjoyed NV and 4
FO3 > NV. I played NV first, classic. FO3 is just better, hard to put into words. I can lose myself in a FO3 session, total immersion
More Fallout content, please.
i liked it but i think you're right
This comment is algorithm food
Mmm yummy
More Fallout, plz
Why is the video so pixelated or blurry your other video's aren't this low in visual quality
I had some issues trying to render the video. It would only work with the proxy files. It’s disappointing but it happens.
🥰
I hated this one. The rest of the DLCs were fun.
🤡🍿

I enjoy New Vegas more, but in my heart I can’t deny how much I love Fallout 3. It doesn’t have to be a competition.
