Leila, you forgot the PDF capabilities Edge has. They are so much better than Chrome. As someone who doesn’t use Adobe Acrobat, Edge is a solid alternative
It annoys me that Edge wants to open PDF files no matter how many time I try to make my PDF reader the default. It's as if Windows has a little program running in the background to keep changing defaults back to what IT wants.
Chrome has one major advantage over any microsoft product! They don't abandon their customers or try to force users to buy new product or lose support!
I'm a sysadmin and I've never liked the feel of Chrome. For every other customization and many more, there's Firefox. Chromium is incredibly rigid. That being said, Edge is fantastic and I do like using it for my work browser. It makes for a very efficient work environment. I use both Edge and Firefox in personal and work environments.
I totally agree. I converted to Edge as soon as it was launched. I knew it was going to be similar to Chrome because it’s based on the same code. However, the big reason for me was further immersing myself in Microsoft’s ecosystem. I already use Windows 10, OneDrive, Excel, Word, OneNote etc. You get greater synergy when using products made by the same company.
"You get greater synergy when using products made by the same company" Yes! And I would be at a loss without access to VBA in all applications in the MS Office suite.
Opera GX has a lot of QoL things too and you can even limit the ram usage on the browser too, has built in privacy protection and ad block and its pretty customizable in his looks
I do agree with you. I have used a lot of browsers including chrome but I found edge is better than all other browsers. Windows 11 with edge browser is really very comfortable, feature rich and very fast. I love the way edge handles pdf files. So many useful features. Really fantastic browser.
OMG. i cant believe the talent she has as a teacher!!! the right speed, right crisp and clear explanation, right (not boring ) animations..... 💚from kerala ,india
It kinda proves her point about Edge vs Chrome as far as what their core system is designed to do, Google = Collect your data for ad personalization, Edge = Collect Data, if you say it’s ok, solely to make your experience better. Search “Edge Insiders” to find the Dev and Beta builds. I highly suggest the Dev version.
@&34 904 vague...what is stupid? Also, you really felt the need to take the time to drop a comment and that's all you can drum up? FYI: If that is the case in the future, just don't comment. @Danilo Also, GET A LIFE, this is like a 4 month old comment. 6 month old Video. Would you buy a Chromebook or literally any other PC with Windows installed? Point Proven

I liked the vertical tabs. However for the RAM, I tried to open same tabs in both browsers and the RAM usage was almost the same. Main issue that we all know that Google sale our info to advertisers, but with Microsoft no one can tell for sure where the information will end up. Anyway, nice video, this was the closest ever that someone bring me to use Edge
The tutorials you provide have been very helpful to me. I've learned some much. Thank you for taking the time and putting these well developed programs out there.
Yep, I dumped Chrome a year ago, but my nr 1 browser is Firefox. (I use it 99% of the time). If you value your privacy, then obviously Microsoft as a company is getting worse all the time. Just look at what they are doing with Windows 11. I think using Edge as your main browser is not a smart thing to do.
I recently switched to Edge and like it a lot. One of the features I like a lot is open the pdf file in edge. You can do a lot of editing including adding text, write, erase and read where you can't do it in Chrome.
If you have the Dev version of Edge, which I highly recommend, right-clicking a web-page will bring up all of the options/shortcuts. You can even Cast any page to a device! Lastly, another one of my favorite things about Edge, the Options/Settings. They allow you to really customize the browser, how it searches, what can track you, themes and more. You can even sign into Edge with your regular Microsoft profile and your school/work profile (for 365) and the browser will auto switch profiles to match the page. Love Edge Dev and Windows 11!
MS Edge starts off looking clean and cool - just like Chrome, but Edge has inherited is founder's desire to control everyone in the world. After trying it on and off alongside Chrome for a few months and being reasonably pleased, following the last update, 111.0.1661.41, I am utterly infuriated by MS's constant and irremovable insistence that I must have it's flashing and visually disturbing MSN news feed on every new tab I open - either that or I can't have the new tab 'speed dial' links displayed. Yes I've tried following every piece of help I can find on the web - I simply don't get the options when I choose a custom page layout. This is driving me crazy - just like almost every release of almost every other piece of MS software I've ever used.
While most pretty influencers out there tried to attract people's attention using stupid stuff, Leila showed us that public attention can be achieved through useful and considerate information. I've seen your videos in many different aspects. All were spectacular. Keep up the great job and we believe you're gonna hit 5 million subscribers soon! :)
Yeah, I have also switched from Chrome to edge because both give approximately the same Browsing speed. Provided that, Edge consumes less memory than Chrome. This would be definitely useful for Laptops(notepad series) users.
Microsoft Edge has improved a lot since they switched to the Chromium engine. It may use the same engine as Chrome but Microsoft made sure it isn't just a Chrome reskin, adding a lot of useful features that Chrome doesn't have. While I am not too keen on vertical tabs myself, I see why some people could find them really useful. Also, Chrome has an annoying feature where muting one tab mutes all tabs which are connected to the same site. For example, if you have multiple livestreams open and want to leave some running in the background while you watch one of them, you can't mute all of the tabs except one because all the tabs are connected to the same site (RUclips, Twitch or whatever) and muting one of the tabs mutes all of the tabs. Firefox deals with muted tabs in a much more logical and less frustrating way, allowing you to mute a single tab even if multiple tabs are connected to the same site. Although it is based on Chromium, Edge opts to follow Firefox's more logical way of doing things which is much better. However, Firefox is still my favourite browser. Chrome and Edge both lack a menu bar, Firefox is unquestionably more private than both of them with built in tracking protection which is turned on by default, and Firefox is the only browser with a somewhat significant browser share that doesn't use the Chromium engine. If Firefox dies, Google will basically have a monopoly on browser engines (except for on Mac where people can use Safari.) This is bad for everyone, no matter what browser they use, because a lack of competition means Google don't need to keep adding new features and making Chromium based browsers faster. After all, there would literally be no popular alternative to them. Firefox has made some questionable design changes recently, and I hate the new look. But it still has a bunch of features which imo put it ahead of the competition. If Firefox dies, due to web developers no longer supporting it or Mozilla running out of funding and developers leaving, I might consider using Edge rather than Chrome. This is actually a very real possibility in the next few years, with Firefox's decreasing share of the market and reliance on Google paying Mozilla to make them the default browser. Microsoft would have to win my trust back first. I currently don't trust Microsoft Edge with my bookmarks. A few years ago, before Edge switched to Chromium, I imported my bookmarks and tried it out for a bit. After a few days, Edge forgot some of my bookmarks for some reason. I know it's using a different engine now but I still don't trust Edge. Also, the current UI for Edge is really ugly imo. Although perhaps they will change Edge's UI on Windows 10 alongside the changes they have planned for its UI on Windows 11.
Recently i've switched to windows 10. And i've decided at least to look at the Edge. I thought i'll just play with it and will return to my Chrome. But after couple times of using it i've made the Edge my default browser. :) Most of all i was amazed with immersive reader. I couldn't believe that this is not just a voice recording, so real this reading is, so i like to listen the books with this wonderful feature. And my favorite english voice is Dilara (Persian).🥰
I use edge on my iPhone as well. Two more added features are the AdBlock built-in browser mobile version and the ability to continue reading a page on Desktop which will send the page automatically to the edge on the desktop.
Greetings from upstate NY, USA. Thank you for the informative videos. I had used IE for many years, switched to Chrome to use Gmail for the last 8 years or so. I am a neophyte in the computer/internet community, but I have learned from your videos enormously. I will use EDGE in my new HP - a modestly-priced one, since I abstain from gaming. I am in awe of your expertise, manner of explaining subject matter, and ease of discourse. You have a dedicated admirer of your videos in this humble bloke. I plan to watch every one of your videos to navigate my new laptop. Best to you.
Edge works great with the Microsoft Authenticator. Users might not want to migrate because of the saved passwords and favorites. Edge can load load passwords from G Chrome. The migration is easy. Great video, btw.
I also use a Surface device, and my battery lasts much longer with Edge than with Chrome - even though they're both Chromium. The reverse is true on Android..
thts becoz edge is system app for windows and chrome is system app for Android. System apps highly optimised and are managed better than anything 3rd party apps.
Probably less telemetry for Edge than for Chrome. Chrome synchronises data continuously to Google's servers which does consume a lot of power very quickly.
On Android your battery will last twice as long if you reinstall it with an AOSP-base ROM like Lineage OS but don't install the Google Apps. The Google Services layer installed by GApps (that you cannot uninstall once it on, you have to rebuild from scratch) is the main application constantly phoning home to Google and stealing all of your data - that is one of biggest causes of battery drain. Windows 10 is not allowed in my home - it has far too much telemety and it's entire interface is rubbish anyway.
Battery on mobile isn't an issue. Chrome is an absolute mess on Android. It's only useful for syncing stuff with Android apps. Samsung Internet is the best browser for Android. Edge is 3rd/4th after Firefox.
@@chudchadanstud I don't know about Samsung Internet, I refuse to buy their crappy and locked down devices any more. They are as bad as Apple. If you don't think battery is an issue, so be it. I do, and it doubles uptime without Google.
I've actually found it's slightly better with RAM usage, so I use it with my laptop most of the time. I use Vivaldi as my daily driver because it has things like Tab Grouping, saving sessions to file, tiling tabs, a nickname system for bookmarks, etc. It's actually based on Chromium.
I use Vivaldi too, and I don't think I could go back to anything else 😂 their tab stacking is the best implementation I've seen, and the side menu thing with the notes and being able to see the files you have downloaded easily and the split screen, I love it all, I wish more people knew about it 😂
I was using Chrome for years, but then I got a laptop that has HDD, which made Chrome become slower, and that's when I tried Edge, it loaded quicker than chrome and I found some cool features it had. Working with the pen tool in PDFs, blocking third-party cookies, reading mode feature. I just found out that you can group tabs and give color to them, so when you don't need to show them you can just simply minimize them.
I use Edge and highly recommend it to everyone. I use it on my android phone and ipad too, primarily due to the security features. I hardly see any ads anywhere now. Edge is better in terms of speed and ram. The moment I used Chrome (before I uninstalled it), I could hear the pc or laptop fan working hard to function. Other thing is if you're a Office 365 user, then you surely would enjoy the integration of Edge along with its peer apps. You can add stuffs to your one note. I only wish that MS gives an option for using the address bar along with Cortana. If the apps on all platforms have this feature, then the Office 365 users can enjoy a seemless ecosystem. I cannot add tasks on To Do using the Google Assistant, but if this comes out, I'll disable Google Assistant completely.
If you want to support an alternative browser on the basis of privacy Firefox is the one you should use. It is essential we keep an alternative non chromium based browser.
I use Edge when a Microsoft feature opens it rather than my default browser. I admit that I haven't really given the new version a chance, lets just say I trust MS even less than I trust Google. Plus, Microsoft keeps trying to force all searches to Bing, and I don't like Bing. I'm not just talking about in Edge, most Windows search features use Bing and don't let you choose another option. So, until there is a "killer feature", I'll continue to refuse to use Edge except where forced to do so...simply because MS keeps trying to coerce me to use Edge and Bing no matter how many preferences I set or how many times I answer that I DON'T want Edge to be my default browser. When MS starts honoring my choices, then, and only then, will I even consider using it.
I recently switched to the other side and now use Edge. FYI, Google is even more annoying than Microsoft in their promotional spamming. For example, when I visit RUclips while using Edge, I always get a popup trying to convince me to watch RUclips videos on Google Chrome instead. I sometimes also get popups requesting me to make Chrome my default browser. If you're not switching because you feel like Google respects your choices, then you're incorrect. They are not pestering you only because you're already on board.
Thank you so much. I started using it as it was a browser on my new laptop. It was a good experience. And now with information I am sure yo stick to Edge
The difference is HUGE. She states it in the video that Google’s business model is all about gathering data for ads. Compare that to Edge, which when MSFT gathers data, it is for cross-program personalization/flow. So you can work in Word etc., open edge and your homepage or the extension will show you the documents you were last working on. Again, with MSFT it’s all a choice, you can turn it all on (no tracking) or off (super tracking).
@Christoper Renshaw, yes. The point is MS's business model is not *dependent* on advertising. “Spying” might still be unwanted, but it’s way less of an issue.
Apparently there's a version for Ubuntu etc., but I'm not about to sign a user agreement with micro-softie corporation. Firefox and Chromium work just fine.
Excellent video leila. I am in the habit of giving all your videos a thumbs up before I even watch them on 🖥. I've also got around to clicking the bell 🔔 icon for notify all 😄
Leila Gharani, thanks for the Edge review. I have enjoyed a few of your videos on Excel, One Note, and PowerPoint. Being a Mac user, Edge version for Mac is horrible. Our IT department at my company suggest not to use Edge on our Windows machines out of the many browsers we can use on our PCs (Chrome, Safari, and Firefox). When it comes to speed test, my preferred default browser, of course, Safari on the M1 Mac easily best Chrome and Edge. I understand optimization of hardware and OS plays a big factor. I also think the verdict is still out when it comes to Edge on privacy and security vulnerabilities. However, Edge is finally catching up to Chrome In the extension department, like other Microsoft products becoming too over-bloated with excellent features but rarely used. I think you were 100% correct; Chrome will continue to dominate. Keep up The very helpful and excellent thorough reviews.
Subscribed. My good old HP AIO died a month ago, I was using firefox as the web browser. When I got my new Dell AIO with Win11, I switched to Edge as I felt it has matured into a great browser.
I love Edge and that I can run my work and personal accounts together. I also appreciate that Edge is checking my saved passwords against compromised data. This actually trigger for my wife's account and we got that password changed.
The day Edge popped up, I've been using it, and I don't plan to change back to Chrome anymore. It just works better for me. Also, Microsoft is adding new useful features in almost every update.
I love what you do, Leila! I am now able to start building a team to help me, and I have them pay attention to what you do. You are mentioned in our "Power Sessions" often. I look forward to the day that you have 10 Million subscribers. Thank you, Leila! 💪😁🌴🤙
I love Edge's Read Aloud functionality. No other browser seems to have it. It does a good job of reading online documents and you have a number of voice options.
I switched to edge when the chromium version was released. After that I fall in love with it. I recommended it to many of my friends who were at that point using Chrome. Now all of them are using edge.
I had immediately changed to Edge as soon as I got hold of it a few years back, I just saw the improvement over Chrome and how much less memory it was using, the only issue currently with me on edge is that some extensions will bug out.
Thank you Leila. This is really good, I might consider the switch. I have however come to love the new chrome feature that allows you to group and label tabs. On the other hand, Edge allows you to create some sought of website playlists. I like how far we have come from the days of I.E
I am now on Win 11, Thanks to Microsoft ramming Edge down my throat, (Windows 11 does everything it can to force you to use Edge), I have found ways to override that and now use Chrome again. If Microsoft hadn't tried to force the issue, I might have switched to Edge, but I do not like being forced to do anything and am happily Chroming away, with ad-block pro and FBP making sure I see no adverts for anything. Bliss! Maybe you can install those to Edge, but Microsoft successfully put me off using their browser so I will probably never find out.
This is the main reason that I resist as much of the Microsoft bullying as I can, I'm still on Win 10 but fear that it won't be long before I am pressed (harder) to up(?)grade.
Does not have an effective Bookmark Manager (need to organize manually), no checkbox to select and move to specific folders, generally slow with lots of apps which reappear even after removing them in customization. Sorry, cannot agree with Leila on this one. Chrome is not perfect but for me the ability to manage bookmarks is important.
I never used Chrome, went straight from Firefox to Edge and haven't regretted it. MS have hit on a winner, let's hope they don't do an IE11 to it! Thanks Leila for the clear, illustrated rundown on the new Edge.

Some people doesn't understood that when Chrome take more RAM is not a bad think. If your computer need RAM, he will get that. I usually use about 15-30 tabs so I need to have more RAM taken when i need all tab remain active. Especially if I had some video open , I want to easily switch between tabs and doesn't need to re-download videos and pages (stored in RAM). Feature Multitasking seems wired to me. If you had many open programs (6-10) this will add another tile to the task switcher. But if you use only 2-3 programs and
For me Vivaldi is kind of slow and takes a while to start up. But it's an extremely innovative and feature-packed browser with incredible customisation
@Raissa I SDIT Al Amanah If you don't like the homepage there are about three million ways to customise it. You just need to dedicate some time to the customisation process
For me the best browser is 1.Brave (Privacy + Performance) 2.Mozilla Firefox (Privacy + must for web devs+ light) 3. Vivaldi (fast + for multitaskers) 4. Edge using these three 💕
Microsoft is still primarily a software company. Their goal is to be the default option in the corporate world. Having ineffective privacy options can jeopardize their reputation among businesses. Google is a consumer data company. Their goal is to collect and process as much data as possible. Having ineffective privacy options directly benefits them.
agreed - Edge is better! As software architect I always recommend my users use Edge - it is fully compatible with chrome and at the same time much faster! Doesn't scan my comp every day, has really nice look and feel
fully compatible? there are tons of chrome extension edge would not even dream about it. edge is the new 2k20 internet explorer and feels exact like that - clunky, weird, missing basic features etc. you dont need "performance" when you run a machine like a ryzen 5950x - it is pretty much to discard. the only adventage is that it is pre-installed and you have a internet browser when you install windows.
@@dex1986 clearly you are not aware that Edge can run Chrome extensions. Also word of caution on Chrome - google is not to be trusted anymore... But I don't care what you use - I share my experience.
I tried logging in to the 3 gmail profiles I use in Chrome, and Edge forces you to pick either a Microsoft account or one assigned by your organization. I'm done with giving it a chance.
Yes that was my first thought too. It's almost one in a million that someone defends or recommends Microsoft Edge while the rest of the browser users really shout out that it's among the worst browsers out there.
Microsoft should make Edge more friendly for web scrapping with AHK like it was with IE. It will make instantly have more users and it is very very important for business. IE and AHK is really good combo, it is really sad that AHK does not work easy with Edge.
OMG! I didn't know I needed this video.... My favorite feature is the immersive reader, I absolutely had no ideia that that button did that. I'm so glad I found your video about tips on Excell and got to know your work in RUclips!
I've been using computers since Windows 95. I gave Edge a chance and after 2 months things got sketchy. As always I went in the Settings panel and adjusted what was necessary for Privacy, Search, and Services just like you did. Not much changed after that. I checked out the settings and privacy in Google Chrome and they offer the same thing but the wording is different. I used split-screen to look at both Edge Privacy and Chrome Privacy in the settings tab: different wording but both offer the same protection. Basically, everything you just said that Edge uses Chrome uses as well. It's just spelled out differently. I also ran my own test, scientifically, and found that Edge is a CPU hog. Once I uninstalled Edge on my computers, I have both Windows 10 Home and Pro using 2 computers, both computers began to run normally without hesitation. The only way Windows OS will ever come close or outbeat Chrome is if they would adopt the same methods as Chrome OS does. For example, get rid of the registry and all the files. The problem with the slow opening of Windows is it has to open all the things that make up the registry and everything in the files system like the user file, program file, program file(x86) etc.. Just get rid of it. Chrome uses Google Drive. That is the registry and it opens up faster and everything runs smoothly. Plus, Chrome browser and Chrome OS has a built in security anti-virus system that covers anti-malware, anti-ransomware and other day to day virus problems. Windows Defender has never been and will never be a reliable anti-virus detector. If you're using Windows you have to buy a yearly anti-virus program (Trend Micro, Malwarebytes.) I have Malwarebytes and it does the trick. I have been using it for 3 years now and it does its job consistently. In short, Google Chrome browser and Google Chrome OS is the best on the market and Chrome keeps things simple.
There are different reasons why Google Chrome has 2/3rds or more of the internet browser marketshare and Edge has less than 9%. First, Chrome is faster for most users. Two, Edge is built for Microsoft to horde user data and bandwidth, which may often cause bottlenecking when opening web pages. Although Microsoft advertises that Edge is a chromium based browser, they may not advertise that it is still integrated with legacy that makes it slower for most people except for a few that may need legacy. Third, Edge uses more system resources and gives Microsoft, bloatware, apps and programs that may be running in the background and when users are web browsing. Fourth, A high-end Lenovo laptop using Edge has slower web browsing than a low-end Chromebook using Google Chrome. Fifth, for most users the overall user experience with Edge is Microsoft hype whereas Google Chrome is really better. Finally, many Microsoft Windows users really wanted to like and use Edge, but found the overall experience with Google Chrome better without knowing all the reasons why. Don't forget the Anti-trust lawsuit between Microsoft and Netscape browser war where Microsoft tied Internet Explorer into their OS to gain access to users' data. This is still Microsoft's business model, but over the years they have explored new ways to gain access to users data, bandwidth, ram, hard drive, programs, apps, settings and more. They have been offering new features in exchange for users data for years.
I recently ditched chrome in favor of Microsoft edge. I have to say I'm surprised by its performance and features. Especially, the immersive mode, web capture and vertical tabs. Amazing work!
never used Chrome in my life. I am a software developer. Using Linux and Windows with much confidence. Chrome never grew on me, and I never understood why was that popular. Firefox was my first and only choice since day 0, but Edge is starting to grow on me very fast.
@@LeilaGharani Thank you for taking the time to answer me. I admire your work as a windows power user, and I have learnt a lot from your video tutorials, and I would like to thank you. However, in this video I have an objection. You start by saying that the reason people like Chrome is because of its extensions. I believe that most people do not care about extensions. Me and you, and other pro and semi-pro users might care, but not the standard user. Most of the standard users just don't even know what an extension is. The reason behind the 60-70% of the user base been given to Chrome is because (a) Mobile and (b) google's heavily pushing it through its platform (e.g. I can still remember the days when the recommended browser for gmail was Chrome according to Gmail itself when loggin in). Most developers use all three browsers more or less (because of their job requirements -- you know, to test their work). Other professionals just don't care, they use whatever browser they find on their PC at work. Just my two cents. Again, can't stress enough how top-notch your work is. Kudos.
I have also always admired Edge; I used to hate it after they ditched Edge Legacy and made it Chromium, but then I realised how awesome it was. Chrome began to look bland after Edge! (Chrome is a fine browser too though, but edge is 20% cooler)

For me the issue moving to Edge is that I use an Android phone and whatever I do in Chrome in Windows (eg. search history, bookmark, etc) is synched in my Google account thus in my Android phone, and vice-versa. Apart from that, would be brilliant using Edge only as most links in apps in windows will natively open Edge (eg. Twitter links, Windows widgets links, etc), not to mention the "better performance". Sleeping tabs is very interesting though! Thanks for the video!
You can add your MS account to the Edge in your phone. Synchronization works. I tried open the web page in my pc and then it appears in the Edge history in my phone.

Thanks for your feedback, Andrew!
LoL! I’ve just left an almost identical comment, with two cons, though.
"You get greater synergy when using products made by the same company" Yes! And I would be at a loss without access to VBA in all applications in the MS Office suite.
Keeping everything 'in the family' is brilliant.
Yeah, even your comments are incredibly Microsoft-y.
I've been using it for a while. Aside from neat QoL stuff like tab groups and sleeping tabs, I just like the fact that it eats less RAM than Chrome.
edge is quite good for some stuff like family safety and all that ig but I'll stick to chrome

I would have never even though about switching before watching this. Really insightful video Leila :)

Chrome just hogs all your memory, so I definitely recommend Edge or Firefox
I liked the vertical tabs. However for the RAM, I tried to open same tabs in both browsers and the RAM usage was almost the same.
Main issue that we all know that Google sale our info to advertisers, but with Microsoft no one can tell for sure where the information will end up.
Anyway, nice video, this was the closest ever that someone bring me to use Edge

Yep, I dumped Chrome a year ago, but my nr 1 browser is Firefox. (I use it 99% of the time).
If you value your privacy, then obviously Microsoft as a company is getting worse all the time. Just look at what they are doing with Windows 11.
I think using Edge as your main browser is not a smart thing to do.

For me to switch to Edge, Edge should have a supreme usability in Android. Also Edge should stop pushing MSN feed to users.
You can change that in settings.
@@namanmehta3666 Still not convincing for me bro. I have tried twice but switched back to google chrome
You can literally turn off MSN with a click or two. Also, bing images/videos in edge are beautiful.
I recently switched to Edge and like it a lot. One of the features I like a lot is open the pdf file in edge. You can do a lot of editing including adding text, write, erase and read where you can't do it in Chrome.
I totally agree.
Firefox allows you that same PDF feature and doesn't collect data you'd rather keep private.
Thank you for the information I didn't know that
If you have the Dev version of Edge, which I highly recommend, right-clicking a web-page will bring up all of the options/shortcuts.
@@randomsircle Why would you say that? It was unnecessary and very childish.
Yeah, I have also switched from Chrome to edge because both give approximately the same Browsing speed. Provided that, Edge consumes less memory than Chrome. This would be definitely useful for Laptops(notepad series) users.
Absolutely true
I'm glad Microsoft threw in the towel on IE.
That was a lot 😐, I need a drink of water 🥵
I'm testing both the public release version & dev version. The dev version has colored tabs. Colored tabs are coming.
Thanks for the tip, Mike!

Recently i've switched to windows 10. And i've decided at least to look at the Edge. I thought i'll just play with it and will return to my Chrome. But after couple times of using it i've made the Edge my default browser. :)
Most of all i was amazed with immersive reader.
I've been using the new edge since launch and absolutely love it! The Microsoft ecosystem is becoming better and better in my opinion.
No edge will never get even close to google at any rate and I personally prefer google over anything even with lack of personal info security.

It is because they share the same codebase: Chromium
Yeah brave actually does the same thing interestingly enough
Never save passwords in your browser. Literally the dumbest thing you can do
I also use a Surface device, and my battery lasts much longer with Edge than with Chrome - even though they're both Chromium.

Good video Leila. I ditched Chrome for the Brave browser. Great privacy and lightning fast.
I did the same for a time on one of my computers but eventually had a problem with RUclips that I 'think' was due to Brave. So back to Chrome.
Yup...same here...
Wow never thought someone else would notice, I found the tab grouping feature by accident too and I think it's another amazing idea
I guess tho firefox isn't the best for privacy since by default it has some telemetry which is why librewolf is better
I didn’t know about vertical tabs. Thanks!
Thank you for making this video. I might switch to edge too
One of the most underrated channels on youtube!
Thank you!
It still spies on you, but friendlier.🙂
Yeah but If you compare both of them It just track you 6% while google is 70%
The difference is HUGE.

Most chromium browsers do this now. I use edge and it does this
I am now on Win 11, Thanks to Microsoft ramming Edge down my throat, (Windows 11 does everything it can to force you to use Edge), I have found ways to override that and now use Chrome again.
Chrome is not perfect but for me the ability to manage bookmarks is important.

fully compatible? there are tons of chrome extension edge would not even dream about it. edge is the new 2k20 internet explorer and feels exact like that - clunky, weird, missing basic features etc. you dont need "performance" when you run a machine like a ryzen 5950x - it is pretty much to discard. the only adventage is that it is pre-installed and you have a internet browser when you install windows.

Features that give Edge an edge...I see what you did there
OMG! I didn't know I needed this video.... My favorite feature is the immersive reader, I absolutely had no ideia that that button did that. I'm so glad I found your video about tips on Excell and got to know your work in RUclips!
Also, I use Edge but I was wondering do you, Leila, use Google for your searches or do you use the default searcher?
No, I also use Google search in Edge.
Should have mentioned about the current pdf editor in edge!
It's been a long time since I used Firefox but I also liked it at the time. Maybe I'll check out the current version too.
Kudos.
Yes I would have to agree with your assessment. Since all the features you pointed. They are the same reasons why I made the switch to EDGE.
I have also always admired Edge; I used to hate it after they ditched Edge Legacy and made it Chromium, but then I realised how awesome it was. Chrome began to look bland after Edge! (Chrome is a fine browser too though, but edge is 20% cooler)
open Edge on any mac computer and we talk
@@XAE_A_Xii mac users shouldn't complain about anything tho
@@mehshutup3041 apart from the fact you can't play any proper game, which is also a plus if you want to stay productive and have unhealthy love for games :)
Chrome suks always did
@@XAE_A_Xii you have safari. Safari is horrible on windows. Safari is even awful on osx. It's a failed browser
That can be imported.
@@goadler8330 yep, agree, but it cannot be synched in real time can it? I dont want to use MS Edge in my phone though
@@renemikami I am using edge in phone also.
You can add your MS account to the Edge in your phone. Synchronization works. I tried open the web page in my pc and then it appears in the Edge history in my phone.
Google account can also be added to edge now.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts and insights & all your excellent videos. Generally I use an iPad so a bit rusty on all things windows related. I really appreciate your help and advice.
