In addition to the certified, you can add return receipt, a card on back of letter that is mailed back to the sender with the signature on it. When both cert and RR are used, I stamp the front "return receipt" as a heads up for carrier to know to look on back side so they do not miss it

When that balance gets too low to print postage, the machine connects to the PB website, and downloads a pre-determined balance amount from my account directly to the machine. I load $800 at a time. The process takes under a minute. Now, if you're asking about the payment for the machine, that is leased from Pitney. Quarterly payment for the lease, and they are responsible for any machine repairs, the only thing I have to buy is the ink.
