Honestly turn is the worst one for me, just going off my personal preference of course. Speed is best but I switch to Drift sometimes without much issue. Every once in awhile I use Balanced in Adventure Mode. Never touch Accel or Turn, they are just pain for me lol

I main Accel because when I transitioned from the original Nitro Kart to Nitro Fueled, I found that Accel was the only type that controlled as smoothly as the original.
@@marko17242... anyone who can beat Velo probably can, just depends if they are willing to put in the time to learn proper reserve management, u-turning and lines.
Brilliant tutorial but I guess speed is fine for tiny temple as long as you figure out where the breathing fire is and u turn before the blue fire pad in the end.
ALL Classes were good in the Original CTR, I think Turning & Balanced should be fixed to represent what the stats say, Accel class's top speed should not be higher than Balanced class's in Practice, just like it wasn't in the original, even Turning was the best performing class for many tracks in the original.
I've been playing CTR NF recently again. Been using Balanced since PS1 to present and destroyed all content, unlocked N.Tropy, 101% adventure, etc. Been also using it online and destroying Speed players, not always though. What I'm saying is, it's pretty viable and not trash like other people keep saying. Don't just stick to the 'meta' lol.
I'm a Coco main, which means I've used Accel ever since I got my two copies of CTRNF on PS4 and Switch, since last year. But in the last few months, I've started using Drift and it's now my main Driving Style. Haven't gone back to Accel since lol XD, but I'll use it every now and then. ^_^
I think they did a good job at balancing all the driving styles. If you try to do the Velo times, damn that's a must! Some tracks are so hard I had to try with other driving style.
I am a Speed class driver, I always was, but when I switch to drift I find it hard to get used to the increased sensitivity the turning ratio of the drift class. Do you have any tips on how I can get used to it faster?
Just do a time trial on Coco Park and drive in the opposite direction so you can do infinite laps. It's what I did to get used to the new physics in Speed class since it wasn't the same in the original CTR.
I'd say to just stick with the speed engine, it's much better getting used to and mastering one driving style, than playing multiple driving styles poorly.
I tried using Acceleration Engine in Cortex Castle, but it was slower than Drift Engine. I still haven't beaten Velo, but Drift Engine gave me at least a better chance.
Its interesting because i ended up using speed simply because Papu Papu was the main character i played as when i was a kid so i ended up just getting familiar with the class that way. Now years later i am so glad i stuck with speed early on.
I can't believe how many things have changed after the developer times came out. Every track forced you to use only speed or drift... But looking back after I already beaten every developer, I still use both driving styles, but mostly drift.
Glad you mentioned Turn class and gave us Turn class mains a shout out near the end of video! Turn class through and through! Gotta admit, it's a whole other difficulty using them, I tell ya lol.
Still maining Balanced and being able to beat some sweaty and aggressive Speed Players And using Drift for some of the Dev times cause some of them are impossible for balanced...
Does anyone else just stick with 'Classic' and play with all driving styles, or am I just a crazy person? That said, I do appreciate that some styles are better on certain tracks for time trials and such.
Short answer: speed. If you learn to drive using speed in every track and use blue fire, then you don’t really need any other stat other than speed, because the more speed you have, the more potential you have in going faster than any other driving style that specializes in something else. The main objective is to go from start to finish as fast as possible, so just stick with speed and learn to use it in every track. It really comes down to preference that what you feel most comfortable driving, but objectively speaking speed is the most important stat in the game, because at the end of the day you have to be as fast as possible.
More so if you want to be more viable. It's possible to be good with all classes, you would just play Speed or Drift for the advantage of being faster.
For me, Acceleration. Speed is faster (its best skill is literally the name of the style), but it's hard not to hit a wall or fall off track with its stats (turn is too short). Drift can certainly keep up and the turns are easier, but when I went through time trials the times are even with speed. Balance sounds like it has good stats, but it can't keep up and the turns are the second tightest (it was my go to for a few months before the Spyro Grand Prix). Turn...If a style was a baby that was dropped on its head, this would be it. Acceleration has good turns and adequate speed, and I can keep my boost for at most the whole race.
I use Speed on simple tracks and where it’s easy to keep reserves (in my opinion). I however use Drift on tracks with sharp turns where I need more practice with U-turn. Drift gives more control and is fast but it is slightly slower than Speed. If you master U-turning and Airbraking then Speed is the best of the best. Pros use Speed.
I beaten all of Nitro Oxide's time trails (including the bonus tracks), I think Emperor Velo 27 may have gotten me checkmate, even though I did struggle a lot to beat Nitro Oxide.
In my opinion you can use speed in every track as it,s the best style and in oxide station you can keep the fire with speed by timing the u turn(I had actually beat every single map with speed)
2:45 I just realized I e been using the worst sytle in the game, no wonder it felt like it was impossible to try drifting on straight lines. I thought the turning style would increase how much I can turn but also increase my control over how much I turn, apparently it only increases the amount you can turn.
I beat the rest of tropy's times to unlock him and almost clost with oxide's times which I did some of it to unlock tropy's digital skin by using the speed driving style and master it, so I used the speed style to do the hard difficulty on adventure mode for the first time
Ive Been Using Acceleration For A While Since My Favorite Is Coco Bandicoot And Now I tried drift a little different and i will practice even though I'm not great with speed type
I basically use any engine I want cause its to show how much you improved your skills. Turn does something good in tight cornering tracks back then and still good today. Balance is something to get used to like understeering and to predict when to turn before the corner comes as well.

But I never player CNK, and I don't know these maps at all. I've also lost all my skill in CTR as an adult due to only casually playing from time to time with my friend, and so now, despite technically being a veteran, I'm playing as a total noob.
Isn't there overlapping skill levels? I feel like far more a beginner but not as experienced as you state - I do know u-turning, sacred/blue fire, airbreak in theory, but my muscle memory is so awful to even keep doin' those like easy-peasy. eg.g I just can't maintain BF for a long - or whole - time :/ Anyway, thnx for your recommendations, I'll gonna give a shot to those (except for 2 tracks, already beaten. Slide Coliseum was beaten with Drift btw)
Yeah, though I'd argue speed is only really the best if you are aiming to get the absolute best times for time trials and speed running, otherwise for online or general racing any of the three are good, ofcoarse if some one has a near perfect run with speed you are not winning anyways. But because of the normal hecktek nature of racing with others using weapons and everything, even turning can have good enough shot to win races
I started as Speed maining Spyro then went drift when it came out, never went back. I learned the game fairly quick and Drift took me beyond. BTW Drift gets YELLOW fire on 3rd perfect. no other class has this along with gaining more reserves on boost.

Not that they are playing the better class, but mostly that people still playing acceleration tend to also be fair consistent on most tracks.
I love accel for its non icy, grippy feel. It really is only minimally slower than speed/drift too. When I am vs good speed/drift users they are only edging away slightly which I accept because it is the faster class and harder to lose. But it is true that the majority of speed/drift users I see will clip a wall and lose their fire due to lack of control and grip. I will remain an accel mainer!
I love how you're saying shit about turn and balanced driving styles, mainly on their turn stat, while drift driving style has the same value in the turn stat as balanced driving style
Don't all styles have the same top speed though? So theoretically if you are used to something with more turning then you should be fine as long as you can keep the fire going. I have always liked balanced for getting around, but now I see the value in having less turning stats.
Accel is slower than drift, the its speed, drift then accel. But honestly play what you enjoy, and your lines are much more important than speed. After all most accel wr's is within 2sec form the speed wr for most tracks

Don't all styles have the same top speed though? So theoretically if you are used to something with more turning then you should be fine as long as you can keep the fire going.
I have always liked balanced for getting around, but now I see the value in having less turning stats.
Nope, they have different top speeds, with Speed having the highest
Sorry, same top speed with scared and ultra sacred fire.
Accel is faster than drift!
Accel is slower than drift, the its speed, drift then accel. But honestly play what you enjoy, and your lines are much more important than speed. After all most accel wr's is within 2sec form the speed wr for most tracks
@@abyssshriek6666 Lines are perfect with accel for me. I always mess up with drift..
Drift is the perfect balance between speed and control.
@@Megadeth7811 we are talking about ctrnf
@@abyssshriek6666 No shit, Sherlock.
Tips: don't be dumb like using turn type in roo's tube pls don't be dumb
