It wasn't til years later that I figured out it was his guitar work on the original version of this on the Pure Prarie League album. Great stuff! RIP Mick
Mick cowrote arranged and played on all of those Bowie albums up to Young Americans and sadly was screwed on his proper share of the royalties by Bowie's management.
That he was a trained classical violinist makes sense. Ronno makes the guitar sing as if with a bow. And the way he attacks the chord w such weight and get that gorgeous acoustic presence, it's just like hearing a legendary master strike a chord on a violin or a cello.
Something wrong indeed, i have been blocked from uploading other better quality versions of Ronnos videos even tho there are many of the same video uploaded by others.

i have the individual tracks to many Bowie songs and its great to listen to just Mick with his guitar, a true genius. Moonage daydream for example, im thinking of remixing it to bring some of the more hidden guitar out.
Ronno’s guitar playing is unique. I swear I’ve never heard anything like that, and his voice! His singing really resembles Bowie’s in a way. I was in Hull last month and it really made me happy to see his blue plaque at the station!

How good is this, it’s excellent
I saw mick at one of his last shows with Bowie at the Freddie concert what a talent and I’m from Hull.
The brilliant and beautiful Mick Ronson. In his solo performances one can hear the influence he had on Bowie and the Ian Hunter Band.
You can hear Ronsons influence on "the man who sold the world" which he almost single handedly arraigned and produced.
@@dandare6865 That album, Hunky Dory, and Ziggy Stardust are the perfect trio from Bowie - and Mick is major reason why.
