  • There has been genuine curiosity of the creative choices made for the remake of #vikramvedha especially because it stars some of the biggest stars #hrithikroshan and #saifalikhan from #bollywood . Did the duo of #pushkargayathri deliver and could they recreate the magic that they did with #rmadhavan and #vijaysethupathi in the #tamil film? I hope you like the Vikram Vedha Movie Review & Analysis

One interesting detail left by the makers is that earlier in the movie Saif is seen wearing white polo shirts, and Hrithik black(signifying good and evil). And as the movie progresses and Saif realises the reality of the situation he's in, he is seen wearing a grey shirt.

Nepotism comes in question when new actors are deliberately suppressed, and not given chances to keep the industry in own grip. All the khans are reaching their 60s. Yet Amir did LSC- a movie where the lead is around 37 by the end of the movie and movie covers his life between 7 to 37. They had to use CGI through to make him young. Seriously?
And it's not even a new issue- that senior actors keep taking roles for themselves even when it doesn't suit them. Or keep the place for their own kids whether they have talent or not. They act like business guilds of the ancient times- it's how the varna became castes- everyone trying to keep their business/profession reserved for themselves and not allowing new comers easily.
Raj Kapoor in Teesari Kasam plays a young man less than 20 year old. Then they complained they made such a nice movie and audience couldn't relate... They don't acknowledge that it's easy to sympathies with first failed love experience of a young adult or teenager. But it's hard to feel the same when that guy is above 50. Then he doesn't innocent but stupid.

I think this version is a bit of an upgrade on the original take. Here the ghostly and haunting nature of Vedha is explored more than the og.
I love the nuanced acting, top tier screenplay, bgm. In the original Vikram-Vetaal folklore it's never Vetaal's story, it's Vikram story to identify his true enemy and become worthy for the throne.
This is captured here, Vedha is a matured and nuanced character, he has already achieved his peak regarding psychological and philosophical development but due to a very bad guy he is bound to a bad situation. (Vetaal being bound to a dead body.)
The focus is on Vikram and his journey to identify his true foes, become a more rational, nuanced and mature adult while helping Vedha to get rid of his (Vedha's) binds.

Nuanced acting is the same as the OG - in fact, Hrithik is way more expressive than VJS.
Bgm and screenplay is more or less the same so I’m not understanding this comparison.

    • @ivandrago5153
      @ivandrago5153 Год назад +1

      @@IJ2050
Not exactly, nuanced meaning apt for the particular interpretation.
In this case, Hritik's Vedha is not a grieving brother trying to get things straight and using Vikram to get this job done, (this also aids in Vikram's character development and solutions to Vikram's dilemma.) This was VJS' Vedha.
Here Vedha is out for vengeance cause the only anchor to this haunting personality of Vedha was his younger brother. Just like John Wick goes berserk after the death of the puppy. This is the same trope being used for Hritik's Vedha, the death of the younger brother unleashed an onslaught of pure psychopathy inside Vedha which gives him the haunting and ghostly aura of the deranged Vetaal spirit.
So during the interactions with Vikram, an extra impediment is added for Vikram, i.e. Vedha's unhinged persona, this creates a two fold horror for Vikram. One is facing the hypocrisy of his ideals, the other being the primal fear on an unhinged Vedha. This perfectly echoes with the twofold fight of Vikramaditya from the folklore where he had to answer Vetaal's questions at the same time tame his own fear of this unhinged paranormal entity.
This is what I consider an upgrade over the original, the reimagination/reinterpretation of the same screenplay with a twerked cinematography to showcase the unhinged psyche of Vedha and the psychological battle of Vikram. The whole movie instead of focusing on Vedha shows us the character development of Vikram. This is a novel take and hence is considered an upgrade.

The timing was completely bad to release it with that horrible movie as MASS fans were going Gaga over that. But also the Jersey version on RUclips had way more views than what Vikram Vedha had when I saw it last time atleast. And also Hrithik has more fanboys and hype than Shahid even if he does decent work Hrithik would get praised somehow even if film is bad ( Super 30 extremely decent same War very average) . Plus suddenly right now people don't bothers anymore if this one is a remake but were so much in problem because Jersey was a remake.

@@malayjoshi1098 I watched it few years back it didn't had much views but Jersey has 100m+ views and makers didn't do anything about it so they did a big mistake by not caring about that. Even though Nani himself said not to watch that dubbed version people still kept on watching it.

At the outset, the movie has Hrithik Roshan written all over it. With due credits to the supporting cast, I believe Hrithik just embodied this character. It reminded me of his impeccable performance of Ethan Mascerhans in the ill- fated Guzarish!
I could see Hrithik becoming Vedha. He has truly made this so effortless.
Sadly on the other hand, I didn’t feel what I felt while watching Madhavan’s portrayal of Vikram with the one of Saif’s. Saif is absolutely great. No doubt. But the perfect balance of ruggedness and vulnerability that Madhavan brought to the character is unmatched. I maybe saying this with a bias of having watched and loved the original. I feel sticking to Madhavan to reprise his role would have been a better choice.
Alchololia, definitely showcases Hrithik’s strengths. But it took away from the character for those 3 odd minutes. It’s a good thing it’s a treat to watch him move like butter on a hot pan.

I just watched it today and i have to admit Hrithik just blown me away.. His performance was extraordinary.. He has grown so much as an actor.. I was speechless... Saif also gave such a marvelous performance..although i haven't watched the original yet, but i felt the movie as a whole somehow falls a bit short infront of the characters Vedha and Vikram.. For me Vikram and Vedha were larger than the background.. Than the whole storyline or suspense or anything else.. They were just too good...

Mass and class is definitely what defines this film. The last film that did that this was I think 'Once upon a time in Mumbai'.

It was the first time in the last 4 years that I've followed you, where I stepped into the theatre without reading your review for the movie once.
And thank goodness I wasn't disappointed. Hrithik was a dream in this movie and he literally scared me the most in the AK -47 sequence.
Also I agree when you mention the action sequence, there were loads of cuts but also, why would they slap each other more than hitting blows! I know it's a movie and somethings should be annihilated for the sake of creativity but yeah, the slapping didn't suit well with me
