    Finally, Finally someone is attempting to show flawed characters and their toxic character traits. It's not definitely a home run but atleast characters have layers and both creators as well as actors are self aware of what they want to present which provide genuinely hilarious moments unlike current wannabe comedies.

      All these hate to flawed traits presentation,limited ratio of people admiring it are driven to do think so in polar opposite way because of the Indian mentality where assumptions are created and supported influenced by insecurity of morality,so Instead of giving the logical knowledge of why and how it's bad and it's possible consequences people here proactively forbids it but that only leads to more grave problems which we are facing today and then there are carefree third kind who don't give shit about anything as long as they find it entertaining.

    Its about a modern age of husband- wife relationship where, divorce is no longer considered as a ill-fate or as a disaster but a way for both of them to be free and continue their life in their own way, so obviously not everyone is going to like it. Though Madhavan ages like wine,the older he gets the more good his acting becomes.

      Even USA like developed country takes fictional stories much more serious than us.

    Thank you for the shoutout Anmol. Pooja was a little complex for me to play , other than the 4kgs of prosthetics that i had to wear :) i was very wary of the kind of reaction that a character like her would get. Arya is flawed , but thinks hes perfect and Pooja doesn't care what anyone has to say about her body. I can see some people in the comment section talking about how heavy robust women are common in India - and that's exactly the point. Arya will still be snobbish about it and not want his wife to meet Pooja because she is flawed (in his eyes). For me its a reflection on his character who has shallow moments but like you said in the end we see him learning a lesson in a few places.

As far as it echoes what we think, it can be a force for good, else it should stick to entertainment. We will forever be in conflict unless we all agree the purpose of movies.

    • @TriedRefusedProductions
      @TriedRefusedProductions  2 года назад +16

      My notion of extras was not about Mir Afsar Ali but the characters like the domestic helps, the neighbors and the fans that approached Arya. Other than Surveen's parents and driver (supporting cast) the extras were a sore to the eye. This does not include Mir Afsar Ali whom I felt just was reduced to a caricature (annoying neighbor).

    I wonder, do people really have their own opinions, or do they hide it when they see themselves as minority, or are our opinions affected by how the 'critics' critique the show. I have seen multiple 'critique channels' and the comments usually fawn over the opinions of the creator. Nonetheless, I think Decoupled seems like a good attempt.

    I finished this series yesterday, and I laughed out loud at various moments. Yes, there are instances where you feel the portrayal of the social dynamics was exaggerated or was insulting towards a particular section. Still, apart from that, this is the first time where I loved flawed characters. I might disagree with the point of falling out of love and living under the same roof. However, I understand that every show won't match our beliefs, and this should not stop us from looking at the positive things.

    This show was definitely written by someone from an older generation who saw a few twitter trends but is mostly disconnected from mainstream generational niches that being said, this show was extremely entertaining, it didn’t have a single dull moment, it hit it right out the park, arya’s commentary was spot on and authentic and the show has the potential to be a long running sitcom. We need to stop taking things so seriously and stop holding everything to the twitter standard of virtue signaling. At this point we it seems we need a Bechdel test equivalent of twitter’s virtue signaling where each and every character has to be as obnoxiously caricaturous to fulfill their idea of “appropriate”

    Loved the show actually for its genre. The people having problems with the jokes presented here are the same people that enjoyed the awkward, cringy and uncomfortable stuff said my Steve Carrell in famous show THE OFFICE. People need to understand that the character shown in Madhavan is exactly why he lands himself to trouble. We cannot be morally correct when it comes to movies or shows in general because the purpose of movies are not to provide a social message everytime.

    I thought it was an intelligent series which show cases characters who have compulsive nature (not much investment in their life to understand action and reaction) and have to deal with social media and speudo feminists like Mr.Basu. Because its an original attempt by Indian to show a relationship I apreciate it, however the POV is only from Male character. There were many unanswered questions on why shruthi and Arya split, she seemed like a sensible girl who wouldn't dump her husband just for his social behaviour.

    So i am gonna say it out loud 'I loved the show' it breathes sort of a fresh air over the current indian content on otts which is either a gangster saga or rom com or some other thing of that sort , I grew up watching characters like gregory house or charlie harper or even robert california who reek of narcissism and madhavans depiction of a narcissistic misanthrope though if not spot on is a step in right direction, moreover the chemistry between the 2 characters is something we love ,they respect each other in their private space but still cant bear each others conundrums, the best is the fact that how out of touch the higher strata of society is from the plight of the poor but yet we showcase ourselves caring about them via bullshit art makes me wonder if our pity nothing but a tool to provide us with a false sense of grandeur as the protagonist indicates we are sadists, however the bits between agni and arya in the initial episodes do seem stretched out and at times way too strong but come on everything has its flaws
