    I believe fletching size has more effect on the overall range of the arrow than on the speed moments after leaving the bow. You could make several high fletched arrows to get a distance grouping and then trim those feathers and see if the group flies farther.

      for sure that's a great point. the larger fletching defiantly cleans up the flight and spine variance and oscillation faster but it limits the range for sure. Im still chasing my ideal primitive white tailed deer arrow. I love playing with all the variables. thanks for the input.
