  • Gut was a preferred bowstring material of early people groups. Gut strings were used by the Cherokee Nation. Egyptians are mentioned using catgut or sheep intestine. Ancient Greek archery is shrouded in mystery, but there is some who have eluded to their use of gut as string material. There are references to ox gut being used. Join along and learn to build an extremely strong gut bowstring.

      Yes. My first self bow was a mere heath style hackberry bow back in probably about 2001or 2002. I still have that bow.
