Love how you’re showing the capability of a bone stock jeep. I sure do catch a lot of grief from people because I’m leaving my Rubicon stock. It gets me everywhere I want to go and a lot of places I definitely don’t need to go! 💪🏻
I have a Sahara, it’s stock but I powder coated the rims…added K02’s and a winch. I have no reason to do anything else. It gets complimented all the time! It’s a 2016 Unlimited..Hydro Blue.
I was able to drive my 2 door stock Jeep JL wrangler through 3 feet of snow about 100 feet in Saskatchewan. I have blizzaks. It was the first time I put any vehicle manually in 4WD. Lol. Best day ever!! 💓 my jeep! It had snowed heavily and I had to drive out of it. Snow everywhere. ❄️
When I got my first Jeep Wrangler in 1994 the stock tires were 205/75/15 and I went through my first Midwest winter with them. Even on those mail truck tires I never got stuck and the Jeep took on the snow like a champ. It was then that I vowed to always have a Jeep.
I love that you still have a bone stock Jeep that you use for a few fun trips! Plus driving a one stock Jeep in snow and on trails will help hone your driving skills and makes it better in the built beast’s you have. Well that’s how I feel about it thank you love the dog always a happy pup!
I've been watching your videos for a few days now, but I am already hooked. I am grateful for the effort you both put in to bring content like this to us. Specifically, the way you focus on a stock Jeep - that is not only more widely useful, but also down to earth and charming in the sense of delighting in the small pleasures of life. Thank you, and please continue to make these lovely videos for us, specifically about Pippi!
Great video! I have a 2 door Sport S JL 6-speed up in Easter Canada, I have the Toyo open country C/T tires on for the winter. it’s been so much fun in the snow. When the city leaves a snow bank in front of my house I park on top of it lol
The base stock Wrangler is perfect!👌 Love the Steel wheels.( they are tougher) I would even prefer manual windows. (They are easier on the window mechanism) The original WW2 Army jeeps we’re bare bones, and they made the brand! Thanks for showing what a real Jeep can do, without $25,000 in upgrades. Nicely done!👍
Back in the mid to late 90’s, I was stationed in Va Beach, Va. I had my 1st TJ and we got a really bad snow storm that shut the entire area down. Me and some of my shipmates decided to grab a case of beer and do donuts on the main roads. Good times. Dumb. But fun…
Reminds me of when I would skip class to do donuts in the high school parking lot after it snowed! Look forward to seeing the adventures Pippi takes you guys on this year.
Nice to see how well that stock jeep worked in the snow. It actually looked like you were having fun on that trail. Yep, you almost had as much fun as your dog was having in the yard and that’s pretty good as far as I’m concerned. Thanks for sharing!
Glad you put out here what a stock Jeep can do without all those crazy mods. Great seeing Ripley having some fun in the snow. Thanks for the video Eddie and Happy New Year!
Thanks for the footage of your pup playing (bounding) in the snow. Our current 2 boarders have never been in the snow, yet former ones who experienced life in the upper Midwest would hop too. Almost fox like in their approach! Oh, good 4WD content too.
One afterthought, the next time a snowstorm approaches, try throwing a few of her favorite bones out in the yard for her to hunt for. I bet she will locate them all once she gets the game.
Another video that solidifies my decision on a stock JL. I've done some modifications but through your Pippy vids, I'm certain I made the right choice in model for the type of off roading I/we do. Thanks again for all your informative vids.
I like to see an stock Jeep doing so well on snow, I love this 2 door Jeep. Ripley is so happy with the snow😁. Beautiful video and my best wishes for you and Cindy in 2022. Happy New Year!!

I absolutely love an early start to a snow day here on Toronto. Nothing like laying first tracks in the white stuff. Mind you this is in a RWD sedan with snow tires...it's still on my top 5 favorite things in life.
Great video. Basic fun and Chill. 👍You know this already. As a suggestion from someone who drives in hardcore winter conditions for months at a time . . . the main threat to driving safety is not really snow . . . its ice (especially freezing rain). Lots of ice. Ice on the road. Ice on your vehicle. Ice that is formed when many vehicles compress snow down over and over as they pass by. Ice under a thin layer of water as the temperature fluctuates around the freezing point. Ice that robs you of your ability to stop safely. That's where a good set of ice radials become essential. Like Bridgestone Blizzaks or Michelin X-Ice for starters. All season tires are really just 3 season tires here in the cold and wet northeast. As you so often wisely recommend . . . being well prepared for your local conditions is always the best course for safety and peace of mind. Cheers !
Back in high school I remember learning to drive in the snow with my CJ-5. Slow on the corners to keep from spinning like a top - no traction control back then.
Looks like fun! ‘18 JLU Sport here with V6/6M trans. I’ve found the set of Michelin take-offs I got work better in the snow than my AT Wranglers. I just run those in the summer! Your dog looked like he was having as much fun in the snow as your Jeep!
Yes, many years ago I had a set of the Michelin ATXs on a used '99 RAM 4x4 truck I got and thought they weren't aggressive enough but they proved to be awesome in the snow, so I never changed them. The new OEM JL Michelin tire tread pattern (I saw on a Sport in the dealer showroom) looked almost identical to my old Michelins to me. I ordered a JL 2dr Sport with street tires as well, and I hope it comes with Michelins vs Bridgestones, but they only tell you size when you order - who knows what brand they'll have that day when they're building my wheels? However, the Wrangler tire new-takeoff market is crazy plentiful on the internet, and the supply vs demand makes them very cheap!
All around great video work! So many different camera variations and angles, that's a lot of work. The music was nice and not overwhelming, it was simply enjoyable to watch. Fantastic work!
I’m going into my 3rd winter on stock tires in north east Ohio / Pittsburgh area. Plenty of highway driving in snow and ice, with most of it in 2wd. I’ve only had the back end swing out on me once going over an overpass. Only have had to use 4wd to get up hills, lots of those around. Now that I’m just about out of warranty without issues I am starting to change some things. Putting 33” KO2’s on next week with a “Rubicon lift” for my 2dr sport s. Can’t wait to see what you guys end up doing with Pippi.
Love the bone stock videos. In my case, I was doing some mountain driving where the stock tires just were not up to the task. Also legally I had to have triple peak rated tires or chains. I went with the Duratracs and they do seem to have a lot more grip. I saved my stock tires and will swap them back on when the weather gets a little warmer. Keep making these awesome stock videos!
great video first time jeep owner 2 weeks ago got a 2010 sahara . and last week got my wife 2018 sport. looking forward to getting some snow here in ohio and learning when to use 4x4 high and 4x4 low keep the videos coming .
I’m really enjoying watching this series on Pippi. I’ve gone back and forth whether I “need” a two or four door Jeep. Right now I think the simple two door would be a good choice since I’ve never owned a Jeep. We’ve yet to discover how much snow we’ll be encountering here in Las Cruces NM as we’ve just moved here… Love the short segments on your dog. We’re about to go on a roadtrip to Louisiana to get our new Teacup Poodle. Driving all the way across Texas, it’s going to be a long trip.
Reminds me of my bone stock Samurai back in the 80s. Thing was awesome on stock Bridgestones. Wish I didn’t have to sell it before I went into the military.
"Patiently" waiting for my manual JLU to be delivered. I plan on leaving it relatively stock, perfect timing for this series. Fantastic content BTW, keep up the great work!
Larry, I just purchased a dark green 2 door Rubicon 3 days ago. It's a 2.0 automatic. It rides smooth, and has suprising power. You will love this. Maybe you had jeeps? I never did. Good luck with it.
@@michaeldelio1870 I just had to sell my 93 YJ to help pay for this so yes sort of haha. I rented an early JL a few years ago for a long road trip and absolutely loved it. Had to wait until my wife's car was paid off before I ordered mine. Counting the days now.
