The overlap between fans of Bumbles McFumbles and Dororo is probably like 1 guy, but what a day that guy is about to have.
I would personally like to apologize for the two rock golem demons spawning on that bridge in Daigo's castle.
Damnit you took my joke
It's always when I look at the comments when it happens

"The overlap of fans of Bumbles McFumbles and dororo is probably one guy" I am that guy. I had a GREAT time watching this
Me too let's goo!! 🎉

"This was just violent Pinocchio" is the perfect explanation for this game
And the manga.
@@bobalinx8762 And the anime

Don't mess with us Dororo Fans... there's 4 of us and we're slowly going extinct.
Party is over for us
Woooh
hey im a dororo fan! watched the anime on prime video then read as much of the manga as i could pirate. of course, i had to sort the pages manually...
We're pretty resiliant though, you gotta give us that
@@SpideyfanX hey reference
Honestly, the idea of having 48 body parts removed and replaced by parts of a doll sounds as much a base for a horror game as it is an action game. Though I will say I'm honestly surprised they went through with having you permanently lose an arm blade after regaining the real deal. In general the concept is super neat in how it's handled.
I do like how they have you lose an armblade, but at the same time you don't feel hindered cause it lets you use a sword with your other armblade.
I really liked the way they did that, it was unusual and crazy but seriously cool
The unfortunate part is when you do beat the final Fiend, you permanently lose the machine gun and can only dual wield the swords that used to be in your arms but not any other combination of weapons. The only actual downgrade, I'm pretty sure
@@PixelHeroViishBut it still makes sense and great they actually follow through on it, even if it has a negative impact.
@@Sanodi21 Yeah it DOES make perfect sense in the context of the universe, I personally just think it's a bit strange to have dual wielding only be available with two specific swords and not have the machine gun be usable like the leg cannon. It's a small fumble if anything
"This is just violent Pinocchio." Jack, this is one of Tezuka's work. Between Astroboy and his love of Disney film at the time this is definitely hitting the nail on the head.
I really can't get over how despite having two sword arms and and a cannon leg dude still caries arounds a katana like dude is absolutely perpared for worst case scenario
In the manga and animes I believe he uses it with his mouth, but I could be wrong.
Well, if you plan on killing the fiends that took your bits, you should probably have a sword in case killing them returns what they took.
Funnily enough, Katanas were used by the Samurai as a last resort weapon, as in "I lost every other weapon i had on me so i gotta use this piece of shit"
I read that in the manga, his artifical nose is also a hidden bomb. And he's got a vial of toxins somewhere, or something of the like.
@@LaenthorZoro would be proud.
This guy killed how many demons without being able to see, count in his head, or feel?
People like saying Doom guy to angry to die, well Hyakkumaru is too much of a vegetable to die
its implied hyakkimaru is blessed by buddha and this combined with his own sheer force of will is why he fails to die. he can kill demons because he can “see” the shape snd location of their souls
@@beebs4283 didnt buddha take pity on him and therefore blessed him
My first experience with Dorororo was the 2019 anime. In other words, _"Party is over!"_
İ recently finished it and it was sick.
I have to applaud you for the semicolon joke. Didnt get a laugh, more of a "pause, stare into the distance for a moment with a dumbfounded half-smirk that turns into a grin," it was really clever!
Ever since I heard of it, I thought Dororo was a cool story with a cool concept.
Kinda surreal to learn that we had a game based on it all along, and localized too!
I wish more games like this were made with genuinely good, innovative and fun ideas. Killing bosses to unlock more usual given features is great. Imagine if they locked the sound until you get the ears.
Game journalists would probably hate this game for that, write it off as just another Quiet Man....
@@TeryJonesWell to be fair they did give this game a 7/10 when it’s clearly an 8.5-9/10
Jack, you’re like a good luck charm. I just found a few limited edition Yugioh cards in my basement while listening to this video, turns out they might actually be worth something. Keep up the awesome work, big guy!!
This definitely has Osamu Tezuka's DNA inside it, and I think I love that.
Tezuka was an actual surgeon, it's where his knowledge came from to make Black Jack (one of my favorite manga), AKA God with a scalpel. His favorite thing was taking what's supposed to work and making it fantastic and nonsensical. Hence why Hyakkimaru can run around with porcelain limbs and just a hippocampus and small intestine. It's like his fans and haters are going "But that doesn't make logical sense!" and Tezuka just replied with "So? It's cool."
Holy shit Tezuka was an actual surgeon? What an absolute chad
I’ve already watched this video three times since it came out roughly 24 hours ago. Suffice to say I think this might be my favorite Bumbles video
i cannot describe how astounded i was to randomly check your channel, having been subbed for a few months, only to find an hour long dororo video. you cannot possibly understand what dororo and osamu tezuka’s works mean to me except for me to say that for the past three days ive submerged myself in tezuka official and fan made works. in general ive loved his works for like 17 years. hyakkimaru in particular is one of the most meaningful characters i’ve ever encountered in my life.
tezuka works, despite having so much importance to anime and manga, and being so popular in japan, have little popularity in the english sphere of the world. i struggle to find people who can recognize even astro boy, much less my favorites like rainbow parakeet or midnight. it means so, so, so much to me to see a video essay on one of my favorite things ever, on something that contains my third favorite character of all time. thank you
i finally got the chance to watch this, and i’m so glad that if anyone made this video it was you. your sense of humor is incredible and it really carried itself through this video. i was constantly cackling, but especially whenever hyakki got a body part back. tezuka really went overboard with making it 48 body parts, huh? it was always kind of absurd (enough that the anime considerably trimmed the number down), but seeing the highly specific body parts show up was just too funny.
i’m so glad you enjoyed dororo, and since you did i have a recommendation for you. i think you should play Astro Boy: Omega Factor. not for a video or anything, just because it’s genuinely really good. it’s pretty amazing that tezuka productions put out two legitimately good licensed games in the 00s. that game is what kickstarted my interest in tezuka’s works, and therefore was the best present i’ve ever received. i hope you enjoy it if you give it a spin.
I'm loving the "Kill a demon, get a rib" mechanic this game has going, it's really cool. Oh and speaking of weird anime action games from this period no one's ever heard of, try Maken X.
Very much second Maken X/Maken Shao! I'm mainly known with it through the enemy and character designs by Kazuma Kaneko.
The weird art house puzzle block bondage enemy with bow on the leg and robotic sword bracelet on the arm will probably never leave my mind. Same with the Arabian warrior in the gyroscope turret thing and the Inverse Spider-Man/Bane Two Face with the double bladed shield.
I remember seeing this at the rental store all the time as a kid, but always wound up picking something else instead like the Shark Tale game. ...I was an intensely stupid child.
To be fair, the name of the game leaves much to be desired
Since we're on Tezuka works now, I'm honestly hoping this series gets to touch on Astro Boy: Omega Factor. That game is a masterpiece, and easily one of the best games on the GBA.
Really good game, crazy hard though. One of the bosses is even modeled after Jungle Emporer Leo (kimba for the anime onlys).
Some pretty dang good Treasure.
i think i would actually cry tears of joy
I absolutely loved this game... until I got to the final boss and didn't have enough ammo to shoot it and thus could not complete it.
Man, just the other day, I remembered this game and was STRUGGLING to remember the name of it. It's hard to forget the concept of a guy being born with missing parts and slowly gaining them all back.
It's always fun learning about these underrated masterpieces from you. I'd love to try this.
fun fact, i didnt know dororo's creator at the time i played this, so i was confused "where is tezuka osamu?" as in a character in the game "what is a dororo?"
Ngl kinda shocked we didn’t get a video for Bakugan’s weird minigame collection and its weirdly voice acted sequel: but seeing an adaptation of Dororo is really cool! Especially given Osamu Tezuka’s legendary portfolio
Bumbles is just a grab-bag of content and I love it, you never know what sort of off-the-wall decision he'll make for a video, but he WILL make it a treat to go through. :D
(I kinda want to see him talk about Enter the Gungeon one day, talking about a game with as many goofball weapons as that would be fun.)
Jack don’t be a coward give me that Bakugan video with ALL the Bakugan games
First game was great, second game was dumb, and the third game is _a complete and utter betrayal!_
35:47 just absolutely killed me, how was I supposed to expect the funniest possible thing would just be speed up the footage
33:05 this joke caught me SO off guard i love it
0:50 WE WHERE SO CLOSE! We WERE ON THE VERGIN OF GREATNESS!!!!
And to think we only had to wait a year until it happened. Worth it!
After reading the original run of Dororo, I can say that the art juxtaposing the tone is actually quite charming. It lets the darker bits catch you by surprise with the characters looking soft and round.
The funny thing is I played this game as a kid and really liked it. I had no idea it had a comic I just liked beat'em up slashers. Sad to say I couldn't beat the final boss back then.
Another classic Bumbles video. Obscure anime video games always go crazy.

“Snake, what have you done? You created a time paradox!”
An excellent video to close out Junami! Though honestly, I would love to hear you talk about a Bakugan video game.
AYYYYY DORORO CONTENT!!! I kill for this series, especially since the reboot is sick!!! Im glad you covered this game!
Having played this game myself a long time ago and being able to watch the anime, I must admit that while the true final boss is asinine the fact that Dororo actually has Hyakkimaru's final body part is twist I wished the new anime had.
You know what you said about unsuccessful Disney movies reminded me of G-Force and the license game that came with it. Compared to other license games from the era it was actually surprisingly good and at least for me it‘s sort of a hidden gem. So perhaps it would be good subject to talk about in one of your future videos.
This comes at a perfect time. A friend of mine on Twitch (JALpocalypse) recently played through this game and had a decent/positive time with it, initially playing it as just relaxation and one-off for inbetween other series. Ended up enjoying it so much he finished it all the way through, and he similarly hated the final boss (yet still likes the game). To see stuff like this is cool.
He also had music requests a few times for some bosses, and i absolutely ruined the Maimai'onba fight by requesting Smoking Roll from the God Hand OST.
Thanks for taking the time to make this video, and wish you good luck and fun on further ones! Here's to hoping some games i'm known with may cross thine path, it was very entertaining to watch and i'm eager for more!
I actually DID play this game! I played it with my sister, because it's 2 player, and second player plays as Dororo. it was hella fun, but also hella janky.
Gotta appreciate them turning Dororo, who's basically just a pickpocket into a yokai slaying fistfighting badass. Like seriously her essentially bein hyakki's equal is just funny to me.
"but without the large intestine, the small intestine is really more of a semicolon" holy fucking shit I'm dying.
I can't believe I've never heard of this! Dororo is one of my favorite series ever (especially the 2019 anime version) and I thought I had consumed every bit of content there is for it! Outside of Astro Boy and (maybe) Black Jack, not many people are familiar with the majority of Tezuka's work here in the west; specifically Dororo in this instance. So seeing a video on an incredibly obscure adaption of this already obscure series makes me so very happy.
Dear Jack, sorry that rock guy's spawn on the last part of the bridge section making you go through a 10 minute section all over again, that was really weird
Because Dororo had the anime in 2019 which got decent praise, I didn't have it pictured as too obscure tbh.
"What are you going to do about it" - Bumbles
Famous last words my friend. I'LL CILCK THE LIKE BUTTON.
But wait a minute, the Bakugan Battle Brawlers game is actually legit
You saying I was inches away from that?
The Okami music spread throughout the video as background music warmed my heart, i loved playing Okami and still do, an underrated game in terms of visuals and music imo
21:51 "These people weren't just murdered. They were killed too."
Had to be the best line I've heard you say
I was lucky enough to have played this game! Just stumbled upon it in GameStop and thought, "this looks interesting!" I'm glad to see others remember it fondly as well. I had no doubt the developers poured their love into the game, even with its little flaws - it was just so creative. I never knew the history of the manga!
I want demon powers that, even with all my organs and muscles gone, I can do tornado spin moves…
The algorithm required engagement, Jack.
(Nah but I’d watch the Bakugan video.)
Jack, you complained about most anime games being arena fighters...
Did you know the modern persona games have anime adaptations!
He also said that the ones that aren't arena fighters are 80-hour rpgs.
"Hey. Your mother ain't shit."
*UNSPEAKABLE VIOLENCE.*
"Huh."
Can't wait for the next one
I remember Dororo got an anime that was GREAT.
Legitimately it's a pretty good story imo so... yeah but I'm biased towards really interesting stories about characters strife because of events outside of their control
i just went and watched the 2019 anime because the start of this video made it sound quite interesting so didnt want to spoil myself and so i come back and theres like 5 actual moments that are shared 1 to 1 between the two, oh well at least i got a good anime on top of my bumbles mcfumbles
I miss when buying used video games for older consoles was affordable. Greed can cause a lot of harm to art as well as to people.
Pleasant surprise to see dororo content on my recommendations. You earned a sub
24:27 “…he scampers off to a tar pit where you move super slow and can’t jump high.”
Well, at least Hyakkimaru’s one hell of a guy.
HUH!
Ah yes, my favorite manga. Pinocchio Wick.
Nearly a year later, I still can't believe I could've gotten a Bakugan video for my birthday
I have seen this game ONCE in the wild at my local game collectors store. It's almost worth it's weight in copper.
I am legally obligated to post congratulating Junami, as well as being motivated to give Dororo a read.
I am also contractually forced to ask for Gundam reviews. There's some good PS2 games like Federation Vs Zeon I swear. I'm getting desperate
Can’t believe we were robbed from a Bakugan video
I played this game as a kid. When the Dororo anime was announced I remember vividly seeing the name on anichart and my brain did like a ~20 year rewind to hyakimaru shouting dororo and I checked further.
I was so excited.
I think this is the same company who made the old berserk game, you should review that one too its amazing. its called Berserk: Millennium Falcon Hen Seima Senki no Shō and because its japan only its a hustle to get the english patch but its worth it as its the best berserk game to exist (not a high bar though)
I was close, but the more I thought, the more I realized I *might* not be the guy best equipped to talk about Berserk.
"The fight with Redcap isn't hard, but I wouldn't call it easy..."
I believe Lev Vygotsky has a word for that.
I'm gonna cry, that's what i'm gonna do about you not showing me what that boss is.
Knowing Jack, he's gonna end up doing a video on Trapt on the PS2 sooner or later
you can really tell by the pose that the cannon is DEFINITELY in his *leg*
Long story short: japanese Pinocchio with a sword and the blicky
That rumble thing is what i call a "Kojima Magic"
Hyakkimaru with realistic teeth isnt real he can't hurt you...
The cat fiend just swatting you out of the air like “No. Bad.” is the funniest shit.
Literally watched the whole anime just to watch this video. Totally worth it
Nice DBZA reference near the end there, I might have to go rewatch it now.
Dororo is the anime I’ve seen, but I didn’t played it’s PS2 game of the famous anime/manga. It’s incredible that the creator of Astro Boy made his first ever mature series ever.
Love this game back in the day was never able to finish beating it on the final combo boss battle
"without the large intestine, it's more of a semicolon" is the single slickest line you've ever given
Ah, my favorite youkai. Kappa, Oni, Kitsune, and Blanka from Streets.
I had gungrave and blood will tell... thanks for making this.
Maybe it's because anime. But your voice sounds 1 to 1 with Mother's Basement in this video, it's uncanny and pretty cool!
I assure you my Jojo watch order is much more sane.
I would’ve suggested the Crayon Shin-Chan summer vacation game that released a year or so ago. Or even those Hamtaro GBA games.
This video has convinced me that I'd love to watch you do a video on "Sword of the Berserk: Gut's Rage" for Dreamcast.
Then again, I think I'd enjoy you doing a video on just about anything.
JOKES ON YOU THIS GAME INTRODUCED ME TO DORORO!!! Great video man
I gald you decided to review this game, Im half way finished with the anime and its great!
I can answer why the name was changed in America. Because Blood will Tell grabs my attention. I don't think I would of made that on the spot purchase if the name on the box was Dodoro***
You take that back: I did play it.
I totally love this game it's one of my childhood game people playing Call of Duty playing like so many kind of different things while they were shooting their guns I was killing demons so this is actually one of my favorite games
So there is a dororo anime and it is more close to the game and is awesome
you should try library of ruina a game youve never heard of of a series youve never heard off that just happens to be one of the hardest games ever made, and the one with the best story ive ever seen
you can't escape the funny sex number for the next video Jack
I feel like he gonna do some Bs something like
Ep 68 part 2 💀
68.8 💀
I would 100% percent what a bagukan the game video! First game I've ever finished
Well this video did inspire me......
To read the manga and watch the anime.
51:45 I've legitimately had nightmares about somehow gaining new teeth that screw up my ability to chew.
I NEED THAT BAKUGAN VIDEO MAN PLEASE
I played and 100 percent this game. I personally felt this game was ahead of it's time
Heh, funny I was just about to list a copy of this for sale. This is not a cheap game.
I remember blood will tell I miss games like that especially how you become a God if you get all the body parts no wonder the demons feared you
nice to be the 1 guy whos both a Mcfumbles fan and Dororo fan.
