The voice direction sounds so much like the acting done in voiced examples of english teaching classes. It's super charming and I love how it helps accentuate the action movie/ early anime tone of the game.
The fact that we describe anything genuine and silly with food metaphors is weirdly fitting! Cause like a fine meal, feeling this genuine unironic passion no matter how silly it looks to anyone else is just so satisfying
From what I saw, this whole war started because Richard loves Michael so much, he wanted him all to himself. The fact that Michael didn´t reciprocate these feelings, since he had eyes only for Jody, let to Richard going insane. He started extreme acts just to get Michaels attention, making him chase after him, even trying to blow up his romantic rival. The end was especially gripping, when Richard saw Michael trying to save him, but most likely realized the gravity of his crimes and that he cannot be forgiven.

7:41 While I only have personal experience with this game and the newest armored core (fires of rubicon), I have seen enough gameplay of the older titles to confidently say that metal wolf has very similar gameplay to the first 3 generations of armored core games (specifically the 3.5 generation, the one that finally got analog camera controls). There are some differences like the weapons being less wacky in armored core and how metal wolf has no mech customizing, but overall if you pick up 3.5 gen AC game like nexus it probably won’t be too hard to adjust. The AC games from 4 onward have massive gameplay changes between generations though, from 5th gen’s “mostly the same as older gens” to 4th gen’s “fast as a coked up cheetah that watched too much anime”. Edit: Also fun fact, the best way too avoid Richard’s super move? Use your own, it makes you invincible for the duration and in the first arena there’s a pickup in one of the slot machines that gives full super meter.

Somehow the thought process leading to this game happened again, but at Intelligent Systems around 2013-2014. Leading to the release of Code Name: S.T.E.A.M., which has sequences where Abraham Lincoln pilots a giant steampunk mech.
If you're a big fan of games with excellent and satisfying gameplay but a story filled to the brim with cheese and corn, I can't help but feel like you would enjoy the Kingdom Hearts series.
If you want a game series with the same energy as Metal Wolf Chaos, check out the EDF series. ITs basically all the glorious RE1 level voice acting and the crazy situation played serious as MWC but instead of the president your a soldier with ridiculous guns fighting giant bugs, robots, aliens, and fucking godzilla.
If I had a nickel every time there was a game where a U.S. president fought evil in a rad-as-fuck mech suit, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
Richard gives me vibes of Bruce Campbell's narrator from Spider-Man 2: The Game. Jody sounds almost like the Hyperion New-U stations from Borderlands 2, 3, and The Pre-Sequel (and the announcer on Helios, also from The Pre-Sequel). And I love them both dearly.

It's really interesting to watch this after playing Armored Core 6, because yeah, I actually can see that they come from the same developer! AC6 doesn't control EXACTLY like MWC, but you'll be closer to the mark than if you came in from Dark Souls.
So, in the little talked about RPG Enchanted Arms (seriously I don't think anyone has ever played this game) the secret super boss is straight up Metal Wolf. Add to it, you get him as a party member after the fight, and his special attack is the same as in the original MWC, where he opens his backpacks and unloads everything. He even screams "RICHAAAARD" despite Richard Hawk sadly not appearing in Enchanted Arms at all.
This game is what a group of Japanese people with only passing knowledge on America created the most American game they possibly could. So what you're saying is, it's reverse Yandere Simulator?
I don't understand how a game can be so aggressively Japanese and aggressively American at the same time but I'm here for it.
