*Memo to self* - not to look at movie description before watching at least the first ten minutes. Go straight to film! I don’t mind knowing the genre, but a bit of mystery is nice, some times.

The movie description is actually really helpful and does not contain spoilers. The theme of movie is very clear ... in first five minutes. I like the light tone of it. Thanks, uploader!

    *Thank you.*

In those days they fought for more humane treatment for all. Now they are fighting for the installation of fascism. Incredible.

Was this movie made to capitalize on the Patti Hurst situation?

I first saw Sissy Spacek in *Carrie* - based on a Stephen King novel, and wanted to see more. It cheers me up to see her name on a film title.

I wow, thanks it took me right back to those revolutionary days of those years in the 60s and early 70s.
You see, it wasn't all about just getting high and wearing our hippie clothing, walking barefoot everywhere.
    Doing acid and smoking pot.
No, there were the revolutionary people who despised our bougie capitalistic upbringing and the hypocrisy of our Western military involvement in Vietnam and the US draft!
Luckily, in Canada, it was a choice our military boys could make to go fight over there.
As a Canadian, I have known many Draft Dodgers.
These times, people wanted change and to get away from the way we were expected to be.
    Clearly capitalism
    has won out there.
Everything that once could have been for the good of all ends up with a yoga clothing company that costs a fortune to buy, to then fork out even more money for something that shouldn't have been pimped back to people.
So many people can't afford the things that were born out of the 60s and health foods because they are available but immediately because they are too expensive!
So this was an old film, but I thought what Kate and the Weather Men & Women were trying to say still holds today.
Sure, blowing up anything is no answer.
But making no profit co-ops for our foods and clothing is something we can all do.
Because no one should be unable to buy good food.
Especially when the FOOD BOARDS have quotas they farmers can produce or it gets dumped.
Capitalism is still hurting us more than ever.
This film brought it to the forefront!
I think Sissy, Henry, and Art all were stellar in conveying their frustration with the system.
The music and wardrobe departments, as well as the use of the history news reels and photos of the times in America and Vietnam, helped bring it all back.
They way we felt seeing the brutal images on the TV news, Life Magazine, newspapers and it wasn't like now where they talk about the wars without seeing the real horrors of what is happening.
The big news companies and governments decided after the coverage of the Vietnam War that it was a mistake to show such graphic material to the public back home.
They felt that it was in their best interest to limit candy coat and control the information that the public would see after Vietnam because it seemed to cause the people to rise up against their military actions!
So now it's always whitewashed before it even hits the editors in the news room!
I appreciate the documentary style of tell this story too.
    Thanks for uploading it!

The movie “Katherine” is such a mess, I haven’t the energy to critique it properly. The filmmakers bit off way more than they could chew, and Sissy Spacek’s bipolar performance didn’t help!
