Ahhhh Sissy Spacek. I really do love her, and as she got older she just got better and more beautiful ❣👍🏻🤗 Sissy is one year older than me and she still looks great today!!!
Fun to see they filmed in Santa Fe, my husband's hometown - and in ABQ where we live. The scenes of airport and tarmac and old 1950's planes was nostalgic. Thanks for sharing.
I wonder if Loretta Lynn saw this movie and thought ... this young lady would be perfect playing me in a movie? I know Loretta Lynn said she picked Sissy Spacek out of a bunch of photos to play her in Coal Miners Daughter, but if Loretta heard her sing ... it might of crossed her mind before. I could definitely see why she played the part in Coal Miners Daughter so well. It's my 1st time seeing this movie. It's a good movie . I love that era. Especially when it comes to the decor in the houses back then.
She is among the few Hollywood stars that I admire & respect both on-off screen. She totally avoids the Hollywood scene lives on her farm as a hands on wife-mother.

Geez, it seems that a form of Craig's List existed in 1974. Who would not give Ginger a ride? This was the old days when hitch-hiking was prevalent. I did it a lot, even across the country.
Everyone may have been doing it but just because nothing happened to you doesn't mean nothing happened to anyone else. Girls getting into cars with strangers has always been incredibly risky.
I love this movie. Great story and cast. Back in the days when people were decent to each other and everybody wasnt so worried about being "politically correct",just open and honest. I never knew Sissy Spacek could sing. ❤
Like Vanhornn2 said, Sissy played Loretta Lynn in Coal Miner's Daughter. She actually sang Loretta's songs! If you haven't seen the movie, you really should consider it.
When Sissy was very young, just starting in show business, she actually wanted to be a folk singer but acting opportunities came her way and she chose that path. Of course, years later she did act and sing in "Coal Miners Daughter" but in the country music genre.
It's funny with the remake of Carrie, I'm not gonna say that Chloe Moretz is far from a beauty by a long shot. When Moretz was cast there was a little bit of an uproar about how much Moretz was far from the ideal version of who Carrie White was supposed to be. Especially compared to Spacek. Sissy's looks were defenitley downplayed for the original. Both actresses had a natural beauty. Spacek in this film and Coal Miner's Daughter natural looks were accentuated more, freckles and all. Spacek defenitley had a look that defined the seventies.

Well, that Demi Moore movie the other day only had Demi in it a couple of times that we know of. There were a lot of scenes in which you couldn't verify who was in it since they didn't have an electrician or anyone working on lights during the production. =)
Lots of praise for Sissy Spacek but I thought Susan Oliver did a fantastic job. Though it broke me up when she left with Charlie. How long will it last this time I wonder?

I had been amazed by the beauty within Sissy Spacek, she is so innocent and kind.
It's not so much that she's is physically beautiful, but she has an inner beauty that overshines everything, and that is very appealing!
I've always thought that Miller ruined this movie, but Sissy is great as usual!🙄
