Bringing the original cast back for sequels to JP doesn't make sense. That's like telling someone who was in a burning building, once, that now it's their job to put out every fire from now on. Call the Fire Department.
But this analogy can be applied to so many films 😂

The worst franchise is resident evil. Nothing screamed survival horror. Terrible music, slow motion, and thin character development.

Maybe the Terminator Franchise will have more success on the small screen. I am kind of curious about that Terminator Anime Series that will be made by Production I.G. (who where responsible for the Ghost in the Shell (1995) Anime Movie and the later Anime Series) and is going to be released this year:

I'd add Alien to this list cause after Aliens it's just been utter garbage. Here's hoping the TV series will fix it.

I'd nominate the Harry Potter/Fantastic Beasts franchise (if we combine the two), Pirates of the Caribbean, Home Alone, the Madea movies, and the Saw franchise. And maybe the Scary Movie franchise (or the genre as a whole after the original Scary Movie). I would also say the Marvel "franchise" as a whole - but that's a bit different because Marvel is always capable of coming up with a good movie here and there.
People on IMDB also mentioned the Police Academy franchise because apparently there are 6 sequels in that one, that I wasn't aware of.
Also, the Speed movies. I think most would also agree with the Shrek franchise until Puss in Boots 2 saved it, and I think it's got some more potential now.
Also also, I have a feeling that we're going to continue getting Toy Story sequels - they might end up being pretty good (I thought 4 was ok), but they're just unnecessary - and I guess the Buzz Lightyear movie would count as a shitty spinoff. Along those lines... the Finding Nemo/Dory franchise might not be done yet.
And, I think if we continue getting the Guardians of the Galaxy in some form or another, it has the potential to get pretty tired - but 2 and 3 were at least decent, and the first was great.
I haven't seen most of the Fast & Furious movies, but I think what makes the Mission Impossible movies "better" is the acting, the direction, and the consistency, but I agree with another commenter who said they have some similar flaws regarding the story and implausible action stunts.

Jurassic park TV show where each episode is a standalone anthology. There's a lot of stories you could tell in that universe without needing a whole movie. The books alludes to several incidents on Isla Nublar before the one that is shown in the movie, you could easily make a 50 minute episode around that. Or similar incidents at site b. Or maybe dodgeson goes to the island to retrieve the shaving cream bottle

Terminator is supposedly getting an anime show which could line up with how Sarah Connor Chronicles handled the characters and storytelling by presenting it as a show with it around parts of the fandom being considered the best follow up to T2 and while it was cancelled after just two seasons it did give fans some really memorable story on a small budget which is what this franchise definitely should consider doing going forward

I was able to get a hold of customer service for your internet provider on your behalf today. Got some bad news, Adam. Turns out your cable runs underneath the neighbor's new pool and the 12" thick concrete is causing a little bit of disturbance with your service. Looks like you'll be having trash live streams with neverending live chats saying 'lag' for awhile.

You forgot saw but they’re pretty brutal and I don’t know if they’d be considered “mainstream” enough for your channel due to gratuitous gore
They should’ve stopped after 2/3 when they killed Donnie Wahlbergs character off because the plot pretty much became about connecting a bunch of random LEOs to the story for no reason at all
    We’re on 10 now 🙄

Terminator has 2 real movies and nothing else matters. I would say the same things about the Aliens franchise. Jurassic Park should've been one and done. I would also say The Matrix should've been one and done.

I'll be honest, Fast & Furious 5 through 8 hit the sweet spot for me as fun popcorn flicks. I also find it amusing how much flak the franchise gets for its unrealistic action sequences, yet Mission Impossible, with it's equally ridiculous "he survived that!" moments gets a pass. (To be clear, I like most M:I movies)

you snubbed the grand daddy of all movie franchises that won't quit.
it's boring, i know, but it STARTED this movie franchise nonsense. it started simple, had a second movie that ratcheted up the depth and quality, daintily shit the bed with the third one (tho i'll watch it a thousand times over any more of its sequels), and has progressively decayed into utter retardation and unbelievability. it keeps threatening to spawn more, but i somehow doubt it. it makes me feel better to doubt it.
you can't make me say its name. i won't.

I'll stand by Transformers 1 and 3 as pretty great movies all day, and I'll even defend some parts of 2. But everything after that had been either awful like 4-5, or (to me) okay but forgettable with Bumblebee and RotB. Just feels like they've been going through the motions.
