At 6:03 there was something fairly bright blue in the lower left corner of the screen. I was sitting there like "it's bright blue! Grab it, it's bright freakin blue!". Cool video! Thanks for the upload.
I wouldn't say no one has EVER been to that last spot, because I used to hunt there back in 1992, but that's so long ago, some of those agates may not have even formed by then! LOL!!! Good finds. Thanks for the trip down memory lane!
Bobby, the Netherlands.... Gave plek Martijn, and some top carnelians also! Thanks for filming and sharing, pas ook weer brok barnsteen gevonden in schelpenpad, same colour and size as your carnelian, vraag me af hoe ze jou naam in de states uitspreken😂B good outthere, greetz from Lelystad🫡
When the snow melts I want to check out some of the creeks draining into the river or out of the river, there’s a lot of agate there! I was exploring there this summer and found a road cut near the parking area to greenwater lakes hiking area right off the main road and found some calcite there. Lots of good exploring there
The place is amazing. I followed the road back into the mountains and at the top I pulled into a 4 wheeler road and noticed a different looking rock. Turned out to be fist size garnet. They are is worth exploring - I want to find the Tahoma Agate area.
I just carved some of the blue Agate from there at greenwater into some necklaces OMG I have such an amazing orange Ghostly glow in the center of the blue Agate just some of the most amazing Agate I've ever cut love the video green water rocks
Looks like an awesome creek for agate and jasper hunting. That was incredible!! I can see why this is your go to spot now. Just the amount of material your were finding, it looks quite abundant and not very picked over. Thanks for showing your adventure :)
@@TheHappyRockhound I agree, especially in the Northwest where we get some serious winter rains! Im already finding agates eroding out of the banks here in oregon, they really do replenish! Its really cool how they just fall out of the steep banks and tumble into the creeks :)
I kept on thinking "Pick up that one ". Or the one when I said " I can't believe he missed that one". Then I realized it was your shoe ! LOL! I shut up and enjoyed the rest of the video after that!
Loved the video! Greenwater is one of my favorite locations. How far up the road do we have to go to pass the Tribal NO Trespassing signs? All my visits there, I have never walked the Greenwater River due to access restrictions.
Greenwater is a lil stream that flows into the white river and of which it is not very accessable unless you park at the general store walk across the road then walk up the river but not in city sandals(lol) i grew up in that area and then logged the lower cascades and during that time I knew the owner of the Greenwater for which it was a small town but not really, more like a motel, general store, and ski shop most people don't even notice it except to get gas on their way to skiing at crystal mtn.
I just discovered your channel. I appreciate your video and will look at more. You do beautiful work with the rocks you find and you find some beautiful large ones although I wish you hadn’t thrown back that green jasper LOL. What state are you in? I am in Massachusetts and we don’t find my chair although I think I found a little waxy piece of jasper today, it’s not plentiful.
Thank you! I'm currently staying outside of DC but travel a bit in the Adventure Van. I just returned from 4 weeks in the Southwest. My next adventure will be in the Northeast - there seems to be a lot of great minerals there.
Your description says Greenwater Washington but you say Greenwood is your favorite place to go and I may be wrong - I don't want to scroll all to way back - .but did at one point say Green River? Where is this place.
In your opinion, do you think the huge East Wenatchee agate Clovis points came off of spalls from boulders or from rocks like you’re finding in the creeks but bigger ?
Awesome! Thank you! I'm converting my van into a camper adventure van and will be traveling the country soon hitting some awesome sites. Thanks forsubscribing!
Loved this video! We just went out to Greenwater last week and I wish we saw this video before we went. We will definitely be going back! Can I ask what brand your collapsible take is? Thanks! Looking forward to more videos this year! 🤞🏼
Glad you enjoyed the video. I bought that rake at Harbor Freight. Not sure of the brand as the label is now worn off - it was not expensive and has held up well.
Can you tell me the road and river conditions right now? Suitable for knee boots without being swept away? I will be in the area (Seattle) next week and have a day to explore. My wife and I are newly hooked on rockhounding after a trip to South & North Carolina where we brought back 50 pounds of quartz crystal and other unique finds.
Hi, I am on the east coast converting my van right now so I am not sure. I would think that you should be able to find some gravel beds that are open but then again I think that they just had a snow storm so... Sorry I wasn't much help.
Is the greenwater river and green river you mention the same? Following the instruction you provided takes me to the greenwater river. The green river seems to be several miles further up the forest roads.
@@TheHappyRockhound Just wanted to make sure I wasnt driving two hours out to the wrong river haha. Thanks. We are heading over this weekend. Do you have a good river gauge height recommendation that would allow for decent exposed gravel beds?
Did this road today...first time..8/1/21..had a great day..never hunted these beauties..only found some dinkers... sampling around.. usually hunting gold east of the cascades...this is close to home so definitely be going back...great vid!!
You referring to Greenwater aren't you? But, you keep saying Greenwood. I have spent 100's of hours in the Greenwater area, both the town and the river are known as Greenwater. The Green River is a completely different body of water flowing than the Greenwater River, and in a different location geographically speaking. Happy hunting.
How do you get to this spot? My daughter, bestfriend and myself tried to find the green water area. All we found was the town and fs-70 we didn't fin much good rocks
Sorry for the delayed response - I was on a 4 week rockhounding trip. The stream is off of FS 70 on the left side. During my trip I was at a spot near the bridge about 2 miles before the road turns into gravel. I found a few nice ones upstream. This time of year its harder to see the agates as algae and calcite is covering a lot of the rocks and the area is getting picked over. The best time is late Spring after the high water subsides. I hope this helps - good luck!.
I would love some good size green and red jasper! We have dk red to browns here in Illinois and I'll never get to WA. Could you help a rockin sister with some? Much appreciated. Can trade crystal points from AK.
Outstanding agates from up north. Thank you for posting.
Never made it down to Greenwater. Now I have a reason to go.

Very nice finds. I love watching people find specimens in the water. We are in the desert.

Hahaha! Thanks for watching. Its still as beautiful as ever.
Awww man I want that green jasper SOOO PRETTY!
That river really seems incredible for large agates. And that chunk of pet wood was awesome too.
Thanks! I seem to find a lot of nice size agates there for sure.
4 lb agate I found 2 summers ago there
Thank you for being sane enough to wear water shoes to the water! Fabulous finds. Thanks for sharing.
You are so welcome!
Just Rocks here, love your stuff! Rock on!

Thank you. The thing about creeks is that they replenish after rains so I don't mind sharing my spots.

Beautiful finds and great job polishing!
Thank you!
I’ve probably got 30 gallon bucket full of the ricks with agate going threw them to easy to collect with it being road side
Nice video anything closer to Vancouver Wa? Thanks
Awesome finds! I was in greenwater for 6 hours today searching and didn’t find anything like what you found haha only a few small agates
Sorry to hear that. We all have days like that. Hopefully your next outing will be better!
Great video! I wonder how you polish the agates?

Bent directional stick @ 4:26 looks like a Sasquatch sign. Check for prints or structures…They are out there as sure as those rocks are.
Look me up on Facebook. I was reading you had found garnet off the fs70? Was it where the pavement ends? Or by Pyramid creek?
dude you need one of those wagons with the big rubber wheels.
such beautiful rocks I live in mn I would love to trade some rocks with you
Awesome! I plan on exploring MN this year - some amazing rocks there.
Thank you for sharing how do you get the permits to rockhonding in the national forest thought it was illegal

Hey, what kind of equipment are you using to put a polish on these? They turned out awesome 👌
I subscribed and came across your polishing video. Rock on man, and thank you for taking the time to make these videos 🤙
Thanks! Apologizes for the late response - out rockhounding some amazing crystals.

That is a good point. It is the Greenwater River. I will need to correct that. I apologize for the mix up.

Is this still good place to go?
If I had found that petrified wood I'd still be lying in the creek in a swoon!
I stick with only collecting agates. I appreciate other rocks however nothing compares to the beauty of the agate. My opinion my hoard.
I started with agates then added jasper and petrified wood. Agates still hold a special spot for me - so much variety!
Which forest derive road are u in 70 or 72
This was FS 70. Just about any pull off on the left is a great place to investigate.
i have a lot of agates im Ricky from PHILIPPINES did you wanna buy it my collection agates or even semi precious stone or petrified wood stone
you keep saying green river.... it shows green water. which is it?
Green river, green wood, WHAT! No, it's GREENWATER, GREENWATER, GREENWATER. SAY IT!!!!!
Would you send us some green jasper and stuff you dont want? I will pay shipping if I need to... ty
Please try to improve the focus on the rocks you hold up close to the camera.
