Probably the most accurate comparison I’ve seen on AirPods…guys you can tell right from the box…If it doesn’t slide,it’s fake
You just saved me from a scam! Lots of tells from the seller: plastic inner casing not paper; spare earpieces fell all over the place instead of staying put

If you notice the fakes when the ear tips are in the box there is a bigger gap around the area it sits in
Hey so one thing I’m concern is in every like noice cancellation transpercy or off sound the same. Is that another way of noticing?
The noise cancellation and transparently mode clue can be hard to tell if you don’t have the real AirPods Pro with you.
I would focus on seeing if the serial numbers are the same or different on case and AirPods. If they are the same they are fake. Confirmed this with Apple.
And then the light test too.
Those two are 99% confirmation that they are real or fake.

One thing i found was finding your headphones while in the case doesnt work. Real ones make a noise if you put your ear up to it

Hey Anthony, can you control the volume on the fake ones via the swipe function on the AirPods themselves like the real ones?
You can still control the volume with a swipe of your finger on the stem in the fake ones. Pretty well too!

Hey, so if you just want AirPods style and don’t care about the sound quality then yes, but other than that you can find other earbuds for probably same price and better quality than a fake.
And if all your serial numbers are the same on the case and AirPods then yes that is a fake. Those are considered two separate products with apple so they have to be different.

The not your AirPods can still happen with real, but for me the real ones eventually said my name at the end of the set up.

Do the fake AirPods still say they got a warranty. I bought mine from a person but now I’m not sure if they are fake. I want to go switch them out because they have a warranty but I’m not sure if they are fake.
Warranty is on real and fakes, so you would need to identify some of the other clues I mentioned in video to decide. Hope it helps! 👍🏽
Mine has the picture of the closed case on the back but I seen other videos saying those are the fake ones. What are your thoughts?
Hey Joe, the real AirPods I bought are straight for the Apple Store. So they are definitely real.
The real ones show off the lanyard loop hole and charging type in the picture whereas the fake ones I have don’t. This is most likely because they were using an old photo where they first came out.

Watching this too late but managed to get my money back. These fake are getting good, even Apple themselves didn’t detect them as fakes when I ran the serial past their system and it came with the limited warranty etc in settings.

So I’m confused I got air pods from Best Buy online and the serial number on the box matches both the case and left and right air pods. I checked my serial number on apples coverage check and it says it’s registered from my purchase date?

Serial can be check for warranty but even fakes have warranty because it’s a copied serial number of a real AirPod pro

Hey Justin! So the boxes can be different across fakes. Some fakes are better than others. My fakes had a clear difference with the photo they used, so if yours has the correct photo then that I would look at the other clues to determine if they are real or not 👍

I fake by target I lost my airpod 1 gen so I wanted to upgrade to the 2 gen and I first I couldn’t tell when opening the box but when I head the audio I could tell. The noise, cancellation, and transparency mode doesn’t work either.

Unfortunately, it can. My guess is because the serial numbers they use in fakes are from real AirPods.

Fakes can still have warranty. But the serial numbers on the AirPods and case have to be different since they are different products. So if they are the same then unfortunately you have fakes 😔

it's okay but when you go into settings you can see what the right and left have for serial numbers. should it match what it says on the headphones themselves?
@@rafatalmashout8120when you chec in phone for left and right. Both will have numeric no in serial no if its original. But in fake one only alphabet. I checked my original one with fake one. Also check back text on case. In original you will be able to see close to hinze. Fake one have far from hinze.
Did they have the same chime sound effects (connectivity chime, battery dying sound, died sound effect). If they did, was anything different?
They were the same for me, fakes are really good at copying those things. But definitely the serial number and light test are the biggest telling if they are fake.
May this is not the best fake but still useful.
I got once a fake one, even apple store couldn't spot it was fake ! when I took there to check what is wrong with it, the serial number etc all match.
The only way I knew it was fake, it didnt connect to my macbook for some reason and the ANC didnt have the pressure release.

I agree there are some really good dupes out there! But the light test is pretty accurate on most and the firmware version not updating too 👍🏽
the real ones have magnet inside the speakers. so putting them together, would push each other away. if yours don’t do that, they’re fake.
Can the fake ones be seen on the Find my network?
Great question, yes some fakes can be found on find my network, but you may not be able to ring it

So I did the light test and it showed a square in the center but the ends were orange. What does that mean? Fake or not?
The chips are usually on the sides. So unfortunately it sounds like a fake but double check by checking the other clues as well.
i got scammed to it feels so bad i was saving for them and i cant even return them the serial number even shows that they are still under warranty

My AirPods had the same serial number on the case and the air pods but when I went to Bluetooth it was different serial numbers are they tack or no @Anthony

Unfortunately they sound fake to me. The serial numbers have to be different on the devices because they are different products.

Well dang lol 😂 Yeah my fake airpods had ANC working too but audio was nowhere near the quality of real ones.

You can check if the serial numbers on the AirPods and the case are the same or different. They should be different since they are separate products. If they are the same they are probably fake.

i got scammed, but for my little use of these, probably not better, but its not the end of the world.
I think I unfortunately got the fake ones Pro2 usb-C I bought used. It passed all test steps except the light test. The speaker on the case when you scroll down to sound effects it’s locked on green and the text is gray, you can’t also update the firmware, mine is stuck on 6A305. When it comes to serial number my charging case serial number matches with box serial number, the individual earphones has unique serial number. One more thing, when you look at what is set to ON Bluetooth like smartwatch, battery levels on your phone, the airbuds shows battery status but not the case witch it should if you have the real REAL one. Anyone knows what is the latest firmware? I called tech support and they say mine is 7 gen away, don’t know if it’s true because my airbuds is only 4 month old December 2023 when it was bought when I look at the receipt.
Hey Jose, sorry to hear that. The firmware usually will automatically update. Fakes won’t update. The latest firmware for AirPods Pro with usb C is 6B34.

@@Anthonyrolivieri exactly Anthony and one more thing i forgot was that the top hatch is magnetic so the the airbuds can be get stuck there too.
My serial numbers are different in case and AirPods but I think mine are fake cause mine came up as AirPods but once set up was complete it said my name then AirPods

Hey the serial number is a big give away on fakes. But if you are positive you see all tech in the light test then maybe your case is real and the AirPods are not.

Honestly connect the AirPods to your phone and try to use the find my phone features if the 2nd AirPod pro feature the AirTag way of finding your AirPods if you can’t use that feature on your AirPods they are fake they cannot use it because it’s missing the hard ware to be able to use that feature. And the fake manufacturers are not going to invest money nor time trying to get it to work.
This is the best way to find out
I got the one are fake but I was apple to find it through the find my phone app things I noticed they are fake was the serial number on the airpods are equal and it was hard to pull

I dont think its true that the case and the airpods shouldnt match because on their website it says that regular airpods dont match the case but airpod pros do match
Hey so I asked the Apple employee and they told me should be different. Reason being is because AirPods and an AirPods case are two different products. Which means that is two different serial numbers.
That is why you can use find my to find the AirPods themselves or the case.
Look it up though it says regular air pods are different but not pros

I’m looking at the Apple website right now and I quote, “With AirPods (2nd and 3rd generation) and AirPods Pro (1st and 2nd generation), each AirPod also has its own serial number, printed on the AirPod itself. If you need to send in your AirPods or charging case for service, refer to the primary serial number, printed on the case lid.”
Where did you get the real ones?
I bought mine at the Apple Store, but I should have bought it on Amazon or Best Buy because they had a discount at the time. The link I have in the description is to the amazon one and it is still on sale!
mine seem fake , but i have typed in the serial number into the apple cover and the serial number on the case it said it had warranty until june 2024
Well that can be either real or fake. Try looking for my for clues like the light test or serial number on AirPods and case

It is hard for to see with just pictures. But if they are that cheap there is a good chance their fake. These are $250 AirPods. And a 50% is unheard of for apple products unless they are used.
If you want to take the risk, I would contact seller to ask why they are selling for this low and research what eBay will do for you if they are fake.

I’ve seen other 1:1 copies that are getting real good at replicating them close to 100% 😳, but even the reviews I’ve seen on those had cross-device sharing issues.

Biggest clues are the serial numbers and the light test I discussed in the video. 👍🏽
@@Anthonyrolivieri I checked the serial number on the outside of the box, was surprised to see apple confirming it was their product. I bought it from ebay, but another seller on another website also sells the product with the same serial number as mine. This shows that it is not reliable to verify genuine products by the serial number printed on the box, unless you open their seal.

I have a couple add-ons for your vid.. but first, my back story.
I got burnt about three times now.. two by scammers and one didn't know, so got money back.
But I got so angry with the last buy, I told myself "im going hunting" and getting as many fakes off of the Norwegian🇧🇻 market.
I know its a hard ask.. But I'll get at least hundred off of there.
Now - some extra hints to your vid.
•The real vs fake wire has a different wrap with a tip sticking out on each side of the paper wraps than those you mentioned you unwrapped.
•The silicone tips box on the real vs fake is so tightly fit in the box and you even see it in your vid. 😅
•The silicone tips in the box are different if you look at them from the side (The slits are not even there, only on the buds) vs reals and even the fake silicone in the buds look different as well..
•And I just found out NOW that the inside of both the top and bottom rim if each box part aren't glued in the same way as the reals.. even the cardboard part on the bottom part of the box is also of crap quality!! Wow😂
That's my two cents.. hopefully this helps others on identifying fakes.
