This is one of the kits I've been eyeballing. I appreciate the breakdown of what needs to be done and love the colour chosen for the siding. The music, editing, and lighting ties it all nicely together. Well done.
Glad it could help ya out mate, be sure to have a sharp hobby knife as its some of the hardest plastic ive ever cut! But the parts fit together well and is a nice looking model when done 😎
Now that is thinking outside the "bag"! Very nice sir. I enjoyed watching your creative process. Nice trick using heat shrink tube and solder to make the hose. (I might have to steal that idea.) 😁 You now have a new subscriber.
Cheers man haha same! My middle index finger diddn't even get a chance to blister it just ripped a big chunk of skin out, made it painful doing the rest of the cuts 🤣
Another great build! I'm hooked. I too enjoy using Pike Stuff to build things, and I thoroughly enjoy the level of detail you add and the the weathering is something else. Great post. I'm already looking forward to the next.
Thanks so much mate!! I tried to hold back on heavy weathering being a industry that takes in food product, the customers might get turned away otherwise 😂 thanks for stopping by mate 😊
Hey me mate! couldn't wait for that one! it helps me enormously, i have several scratch built projects to do but its all new to me. thanks for this great video on this topic, i a bsolutely love it! (changed the name of my channel, but we commanted back and forth a while ago...) anyway great work!
Hey good to see ya mate! Awesome I hope this vid helps you out with some ideas and yep I remember, I like the new channel name too! Cheers for stopping by brother 😎👍
cheers Paul, these pike stuff kits are great, easy to customise and put together. I just find the cut lines around doors and windows are quite thick and difficult to cut. I did notice your one too it looks good mate 👍
Agree about hard to cut above doors and windows. At some point I’d like to try making a structure from just Evergreen Styrene. Easy to cut and comes in multiple patterns. A bit pricey though.
@HartfordWhaler ive done a few structures out of styrene and one out of cardboard, ive got some videos making them and yep styrene is so expensive even here in Australia!
I have the same Pikestuff kit except it has 2 bays instead of 1 and I've been having trouble coming up with an idea of what to use it for. This definitely gives me some creative insight for the future. These kits are nice because you can turn them into multiple things. Thanks for sharing! I can definitely vouch for you on the trying to cut the styrene. It is rather tough to get through
I made one about a year ago, and came to the same conclusions about the pre-cast cuts. I ended up using it as a non-rail building, like the prototype railroad my layout is based on. Great video, brother!
Yeah its really odd hey, ive had a few pikestuff kits and they all seem to be the same! Cheers brother much appreciated, i just subbed to your channel you got a cool setup man! 😎👍
@@TheSteelRoad Thanks for the sub. I've been subbing a lot of other channels for inspiration and glad to see so many folks out there building amazing layouts.
Awesome! It looks so good. My favourite part is when you sharpened the pencil. Lol. Jk. Great idea using the styrene pole to hide wires. And using the heat shrink as piping. Wait a second… when you heated the heat shrink, did the solder inside melt?
Thanks Mark im glad you enjoyed the video! 😂 I thought the exact same thing at first because I went to use the soldering iron to melt the tubing which required rubbing it up close then I thought 🤔 this may not be a good idea! So I switched to the lighter just in case 😂
Sorry if its already been asked, but what is the t-square tool you are using? I would like to pick one of those up. Seems like a nice tool to use for this kinda stuff! Slick building though! Love the way it turned out!
im not to sure what its called it just came in a pack of modelling tools i got from ebay, but its a handy tool. I find using a normal ruler a bit tricky to get a straight line because the pressure of the hobby knife against it while cutting tends to push it off line so having that T shaped piece seems to brace it a bit better, cheers for stopping by much appreciated man 🍻
ahh mate, i had to watch this over n over again :D this one of me favourites ;) is there any chance to make contact with you via mail or something? i don't use instagram... cheers mate

@@TheSteelRoad yeahh true! I immidiatly ordered the same pikestuff kit, currently i am working on the subroadbed on my modules (0.5m x 4.0m) modern era, east coast switching industrial stuff... I see, well then i think i am gonna stsrt using insta... ;) cheers mate

Great video and great build! I built something similar on my layout, but the tank is an idea I hadn’t thought about. Hmm
