    Ive been gaming on an LG OLED for the last 3 years and before that I was on the current Pixio 1440/144 IPS monitor which I ADORED until I plugged my PC into that TV and it was all over.

      But I really DOUBT that OLED TV has a better/low input lag than the monitor.

    I have finally pulled the trigger and ordered MSI 271QRX. It's currently out of stock in Europe and is expected to be delivered by the end of April or beginning of May. Honestly, I can hardly wait to see what the difference will be compared to my current VA screen. Great video as always, thanks!
    BTW, I use the speakers of my current monitor when I play games like Tekken 8 on PS5. I don't have USB headphones that I can use for playing on PS5 and my monitor doesn't have 3.5mm headphone jack, so I will be in the minority.
    Edit: I think there is a typo in the title of this video. It says 204Hz instead of 240Hz.

    Pixio has been my go to brand for monitors for years. Have their 277 prime as my main monitor right now, it might have to get moved to the second monitor and this be my new main.

    can't wait for these to hit amazon, i respect the speakers for when i just want some background noise.
    Im worried about that screen care not being enough in the long run..

    My first OLED was a LG B6 TV back in 2016 and I simply could NOT get back to an LCD/IPS panel ever since, at least for my main TV for gaming. Still haven't adopted it for monitors yet, as there hasn't been a monitor with the combined features that I'm looking for, but won't hesitate to go for it when there's something I really like. The contrast, the response times and even the colors just hit different on them.
    Btw, one thing worth mentioning from my experience (with TVs, granted) is that, if you're planning on using these with a console and not a high-end pc, these panels don't deal very well with lower framerates (I believe they are a victim of their own success because of the extremely low response times). Jittering on 30fps games is really bad, and it mostly noticeable when turning cameras around in third/first person games.

    Go from an old 1080p LCD at 60Hz, to a 1440p OLED with 240Hz refresh- or better. It's like bbq sauce, it'll change your life.

    I have a 3440x1440 ips and a 2560x1440 ips. I'm waiting for a good deal on a OLED 3440x1440, and I'll possibly stack them on top of eachother when that happens instead of side by side. Might do insane wide side by side. But yeah, if pixio does an ultrawide OLED I will take a good look at what they have to offer.

    There are some things about my $300.00 CAD monitor that I don't like... but it covers most of the feature set this monitor provides. It just isn't an OLED. Need a highish refresh OLED option that's like $400-500 CAD for it to be kind of considerable to me (350.00 USD).

    It is difficult to buy a Pixio, but nice. I predict that eventually (within 5-10 years) the prices of OLED or a good non-backlight competitor will become much more affordable, like $500-600 for 1440p, for regular brands.

      @@Gr00t- OLEDs get less efficient at high brightness, so they'll use more power than an LCD when both are displaying bright content, but will use less power when things are dark.

    Tek Syndicate I bought the first gaming QDOLED by Alienware, which also has amazing HDR capabilities and above everything else the killer feature by nVidia is not DLSS for me but their RTXHDR feature for basically every possible application. I even use it to watch this video. Right now for the first time ever I am playing The Saboteur...and guess what...I play it with RTX HDR...it looks amazing and only with this feature enabled the perfect blacks are there, which are the best thing since sliced bread and the true reason to buy an OLED imo. Sadly this means there is one more reason not to buy an AMD graphics card for me now. RTX HDR is better than Raytracing, DLSS and Frame generation combined for me. Sure it comes with a pretty big performance hit in some games (I saw up to 20%), but it is a hell of a lot less than the performance hit of Raytracing and way more worth it. HDR for me is a truly transformative experience and it is a shame that native implementations more often than not are lack luster. RTX HDR is a perfect compromise and I don´t get why not a lot of Techtubers talk about it.

    Not if u are a proper computer nerd and use dark mode, then u might not be able to use a woled as a computer monitor.
    Woled (LG based oled panels) have issues with displaying gray and darker shades so if u use dark mode settings in the OS or web browser u will have an issue called dirty grays. Basically gray or darker shade will display artefacts, for me who have had two woleds, a lg and asus rog strix I could not take it so I returned them.
    For instance if I opened a folder than the empty space which naturally would be dark would have horizontal lines 4 mm apart from each-other through the solid dark shade, basically looked like thicker "scan-lines"(i know it is the space between the scan lines) ie the dark lines we had on crt. was so annoying and unusable for a monitor.

  • @douggale5962
    @douggale5962 3 месяца назад

    5W are crazy powerful for monitor speakers. 1W would be alright. You are way, way off. Maybe the amplifier isn't driving it fully, or they are exaggerating the specs, because 5W should be loud enough to make you concerned that the *extremely* tiny wires along the edge of the panel will be fatigued by the vibration.

    • @teksyndicate

      My point is that having speakers on a gaming monitor is weird. I haven't seen anyone who says they want speakers, so is it even worth the extra cost?

    • @douggale5962
      @douggale5962 3 месяца назад

      You are probably right most of the time. They are trying to cover being a TV in a pinch, I think. The HDMI connection has audio, so they feel compelled to implement that. You can't blame them for being completionists.

  • @peterjansen4826

    Monitor-companies really ought to quit putting speakers and headphone plugs in their monitors. It doesn't make any sense, it leads to a higher cost and more waste for something which no person should ever use. As a headphone-user I also wouldn't use that headphoneplug, not only because there is no decent DAC and all that in it anyway, also because it is more convenient when the cable is more on the side than straight in front of you as soon as you sit at a desk.

      @@teksyndicateyeah this is exactly the right monitor i’ve been looking for (a 240hz 1440p OLED monitor) and nothing like that is cheaper than this, if you don’t want 240hz or oled or any specific thing then there are more affordable options but for those who need something with these specs this is the very best we’re getting

    i know you are trying to do business, but the whole windows keys thing is very cringe. I don't find it cringe because I've always purchased keys this way and think Microsoft handles retail keys terribly. Retail keys are cringe.
      As for Linux, yes it's better for most things. I have several Linux machines (mostly Debian servers), but my laptop is running Debian 12 as well. I have 2 Linux videos coming out next month... I can't use it on my main desktop because the most important programs (to me) do not work on Linux.

      I mean all ads suck for the most part but this seems genuine and not intrusive and even possibly useful.
      almost everyone's going to run windows somewhere, if not everywhere, no matter whether they run Linux other places, and if you're going to need a key why not do it this way

    My main issue with OLED monitors is that there is a KNOWN flaw there (burn-in), and the warranty on the monitors are always so short.
