For some reason, as a kid, I saw the images on TV of a guy with a briefcase, on the train going to NY to work in his big office! Even tho the images were not of black men. My uncle was a Vietnam vet I went to house to chill with him, he said we're u been I said the streets like I was kool he looked at me with a dead stare in calmly told the streets don't love nobody instantly I saw everybody I was hanging with was enemies even the closet to me I think I said enough.

There are really 2 sides to the same coin. I lived in California for 10 years. It was all sunshine until my last 1 year. I met some people and I saw the underside of California. When you know who the underside is. You see them everywhere and you know the danger. It's like looking at demons, you want to go back to the sunshine, no cares, and rainbows.

Especially when you got a family to protect! Even though protecting your name in the streets is big, becoming your own man and knowing what the streets consist of compared to home. Changes your outlook on things, where you can start your own Lane your own standards!
If you’ve been in the streets, you’ve got guaranteed PTSD. I was just a street drug addict, not a gangster, but so much bad stuff happened that I forgot or last track of it. Like, something genuinely terrible would happen, and it wouldn’t even rate in the top 50 of traumatic shit that happened to me or I saw, so it’d just sort of slide off. Hyper alertness might save your ass at the time, but it turns into PTSD when the danger isn’t there and you’re still turned up like a mouse in an open field

Happens to me I was doing drugs carjacking fighting and hanging with a group of kids doing the same at age 11 and being homeless from 16 to 19 started beefing with the group I hung out with at 16 where I saw friends murder eachother and I had shootouts and even lived in Mexico where I saw bodies and people killing each other I’m 23 now and I can barely sleep and I’m always alert and when I do sleep it’s nightmares and I can smell blood and see people that are dead it’s a sick world but I wanted to be tough now Ik it isn’t what it seems like In the movies shit is real

After covid lockdowns took my business, I moved into the hood. Back to young hungry black boys staring at you, talking live about you as you walk by, seeing you as a threat to their access to women. I earned their respect, mostly because I had worked out and was 220 ponds of muscle.

I'm SO glad I got this message in time to change my life before the streets became me! For some reason, as a kid, I saw the images on TV of a guy with a briefcase, on the train going to NY to work in his big office! Even tho the images were not of black men. I always saw me in that guy even tho at the time, I was in the streets hustling, etc. That image never left me and I eventually became that image! I'm an accountant today, and tho I no longer ride the train to NY for work because I've done really well in my field, I did become that image! Life is funny like that!
