Hey man, I would guess that the video maybe hasn't gotten as many views as you were hoping, but please don't be discouraged. A project like this is so valuable as a fan creation. It just feels really good to watch the old audio shows reimagined with HD, smooth, expressive animation. So many little touches that make it such a great video.
This might not 'blow up' necessarily, because the fan-base is quite niche. But in that niche, I reckon this is the best XFM animation on youtube
Yeah it's definitely a niche fan base. I respect that. I'd like to make more in the future but if I do I'll have to tone it down a bit and try not to take so long getting it done
So many references scattered throughout this. I liked the grub going for a biscuit on the windowsill at the end there. ‘BISCUITS OVER ‘ERE’ COME ON, TELL YOUR MATES!’
This animation level, mannerisms and subtle XFM references throughout are incredible!

This is so good! Aside from the impressive as hell animation, the XFM jokes/references are abundant and genius. The “Bottom” poster, Jaffa Cakes box, the number of Ladder 49 dvds, £100 ONO, “man sees bright light grows beard” and the rest of the magazine stand, “she can’t move for snacks!, Canary Islands review, and so many more. Hi mate, I can’t imagine how many hours went into making this, but it’s an absolute masterpiece. The fluidity and liveliness of the animation, the sheer amount of references and nods, ive watched this 10 times already, it’s a work of art and honestly the best animated Xfm video I’ve ever seen. I noticed you made other animations several years ago and although Xfm only has a cult following and not a massive mainstream audience, it would be unbelievable to see you animate other scenes even if it took you a year. I really appreciate this video and the skill and talent behind it.

I *do* want to and hopefully I'll have the time in the future to work on one. But I don't think it will be any time soon so I just hope those that have subscribed have the patience to wait for it! Thanks mate. I considered opening a patreon but at the moment I'm not sure I'm going to continue making these to be honest. @@shaunj66 to be honest, you need(ed) to advertise on the XFM videos on youtube by commenting.
I uploaded the Papa Garcia album and commented only on the two episodes it was played in, and got a huge influx of views. And that was just a niche song that no-one ever cared about since.
Seeing actual good content that people aleady love the audio from will get so many views. All the fans go crazy about references, as they've all heard the episodes 10 times and know all the details by heart.

Last year I decided I wanted to make a video about a hat in time, right? I was working on it and had it mostly done in a matter of weeks, but then it just, took over 6 months to actually finish. And I was very proud of it in the end, even timed it up for a christmas day upload, but damn. Sometimes a passion project can feel like a mountain of a task, and it's a struggle to finish but you just work at it because you want to complete it.
I can only imagine this video would have taken even more hard work. You did that part where you turn the 2D characters in a 3D space. How'd you even do that? I wish I could do that
And so many new angles, and constant unique animation and expression. Like damnn
@@epicparade1 Thanks bud, I grew up watching too many cartoons so it's probably all ingrained somewhere. For the 3D part I made a very very rough model of Karl and performed the motion in a 3D space then kind of traced over it to get the 3D-depth/turn looking right. But I ended up adjusting it manually when drawing quite a bit. Maybe one day I'll upload a "making of" style video with the rough storyboards, sketches etc. showing my processes

Hey man, fucking wonderful stuff. I genuinely think this is better than the Ricky Gervais show animations. If this’d been made a decade ago like the other fanimations it’d guaranteed be top on views. I think we’d love to see more, but definitely don’t kill yourself, and just know you’ve captured the pure spirit of the XFM show, even if this is the last you do.
This is unbelievable should easily have over a million views for the amount of effort that went into it
