Barry just exemplified the ‘keep calm and carry on’ and delivered an elegantly put together dish. These battles really highlight what happens when we can’t reign in the panic. Good lesson for life being practically presented!
Also, it was endearing that Barry tried to be kind about how Jamie’s dish tasted! It’s what I like best about the Sorted team, they really are friends at the end of the day. Sorry for the long response, just rewatched the video thrice and this is me outlining everything I loved about it 😅

Turnip tops (we call them turnip greens) are a staple food in the southern US. The flavor is stronger than spinach but milder than collard greens. You can buy them canned but fresh turnip greens, slow cooked with ham or bacon and the diced turnip roots, is a traditional dish served with black-eyed peas on New Year’s Day. The greens symbolize folding money and the peas symbolize coins and eating them means a prosperous new year.

While I love challenges, I'd love to see an episode where the chefs just get to plan and cook an incredible spread specifically for the normals and crew, and maybe add some behind the scenes moments with people we don't normally get to see enjoying a meal with everyone. I love peeks behind the curtain on larger channels. really showcases how many people it takes to keep a channel like this making the kind of quality content that it does.

I would love to see a challenege where each normal brings three tins from home. They keep one of them and then have to pick one from each of the other guys . Basically swapping cans between themself. So they would end up with 1 known and 2 mystery tins/cans and have to make a dish in 30 minutes with them. Gives each of them a chance to screw each other over.

Barry showed why he earned the Sous Chef apron. He showed restraint when he was unfamiliar with ingredients and let flavors balance. Jamie tried to speed through and ended up really struggling with a generally simple chef skill. And it's not even one new to him as an excuse. It really proves high concept doesn't matter when you can't be consistent with the execution

@@purplewolfranger22 One bad showing? Love when people blindly defend Jamie cause he's the funny guy lol. He always sticks to the safest bets but give him a slight curveball and he causes a disaster. Barry and Mike are far more creative and daring on the other hand and Barry might've had a few poor showings since he got the apron, but he's been the most technically skilled and creative in recent times, even in the pass it ons, he does far better than the other 2 normals.
