just one question. What type of plastic are they made of ? Because i just received a bunch of these and the stench of the plastic is "very powerful" to say at least. Now i'm not trolling i washed them etc and it's not 1 or 2 of them but 10+. It's also not something that will fade out after a couple hours - days i think. The smell is like a mix between a dirty drain and bad compost. I'm only going to install 3 of them for now , the rest (next time i do loop maintenance ) i will leave outside for a while.

we use silicone rubber which can hold smells. You shouldn't notice it after a while though and once they're installed you shouldn't notice it at all. I just had a smell of the ones that I used to record this video and there is a faint whiff to them, but I had to press my nose on them for that and if you're doing that with your PC.... I think we need a different kind of talk :D :D

@@AlphacoolGmbH Thx i'll put some compatible product on them i think mine are from a fresher batch or something then ;-). If i wanted to put all of them in at once (22) it definitely smelt over the whole living room. You get accustomed to it. I'll give them some air for now maybe heat and sunlight have an influence on it.
Btw great thermal pads that perform and are not fake . It's the original reason i bought from your site (again)and with the shipping i figured i take those also ;-)

@@mr.needmoremhz4148 Like just about anything made from hydrocarbons, there's going to be a brief period of off-gassing.
If it's really THAT noticeable, unpack them all and store them in a well ventilated area for a couple days before installing them.
It may not TOTALLY eliminate the odor, but it'll reduce it significantly, and it WILL go away over time.

@@PhotonHerald Thx.Didn't want to create a drama but it's a bit more than noticeable and i have a lot of fans ;-). Just wanted to inform them. Maybe they can mention it to the manufacturer if this comes up again. As it's not silicone rubber for the food industrie they probably use a lot of recycled ingredients.
I've taken them all outside and put them in a hot water bath with some special industrial cleaning detergent. Witch should help get it out faster.

Hello why not have produced a plastic 120mm - 140mm - 240mm - 280mm and 360mm that would be really great I've been looking for something like this for a long time

Because size-specific gaskets built to the radiator spec, rather than the fan spec, are somewhat of an ultra-niche item.
It bloats your SKU count with these items.
Simply matching to fan dimensions accomplishes the same thing, even if there's some redundant purchasing going on.

    $2 on ebay
or just buy a Noctua fan that has the gasket included

    • @PhotonHerald
      @PhotonHerald 3 года назад +3

1: EBay is a wretched hive.
2: The Alphacool gasket seals the full perimeter of the fan. The Noctua pads leave gaps (albeit tiny ones) between the corners.
3: The Alphacool gasket is cheaper than a set of corner pads. And you can still buy Noctua Redux fans and still get away cheaper than buying the main-line brown fans.
4: The Alphacool gaskets come with a set of slightly extended screws to avoid you needing to torque them down for positive contact.

@@PhotonHerald The noctua rubber gasket seals directly on the fan and has no gaps
the rest of what you said is rubbish

@@iamdmc Alphacool's gaskets are thick (10mm, 7mm) which is basically what you need to mainly reduce air turbulence and enhance the efficiency of the fan (by extending it further away from the radiator/case fan mounts). Noctua's gaskets are very thin and they don't seal good enough, they are strictly for anti vibration purposes.
