    It's emotional watching someone give it their all. Thank you for sharing. Fantastic work Deirdre!

    Very few people, especially women, aren't willing to make themselves suffer that much. I'm impressed.

      Yes very gritty, fantastic effort and result! My wife if she even attempted would probably give up before she even got to within 30 of her max HR. No willingness to be uncomfortable.

    Way to go Team Maloney:)
    This has inspired me to train more and test! Thanks guys. Looking forward to the next video.
    BTW, nice to see the sealant do its job. Rather have to clean up the bike later than trash the FTP test!

    Fantastic effort Dierdre! thanks for showing this - as a cyclist I feel the pain when I see someone doing this!LOL I could tell you really emptied the tank. You're so strong!!! It sure was motivating and now I want to do an FTP test - I'm a 58 woman now so I'll be happy if I can get to 200 FTP but I'm okay with that. Cycling is just so much fun and it's good to challenge yourself to improve. Would really like to see your training and nutrition as well. Thanks 🤗🥰💪

    Wow! Your wife would actually beat me in a race. I am 65 and probably couldn't even do an FTP test now. I used to race competitively too. Just proves with age you are going to slow down. Nice job Dierdre.

    Very strong, Deidre! 💪💪. What did your pre-test effort consist of … surely you didn’t hop out of the car, shoot the pre-test video, then go right into the effort?

    • @jonmaloneycycling7593
      @jonmaloneycycling7593  2 года назад +1

      Yes she did a warm up, about 30 minutes, in that 30 min she did 10 min building from 100 watts to 300

  • @azfararif1373
    @azfararif1373 2 года назад +1

    awesome wattage! your wife's power to weight ratio must be crazy high

  • @LTBlightthebeam
    @LTBlightthebeam 2 года назад +2

    Nice job Dierdre! Do you have a comparison to an FTP estimate from indoor training? I'm curious how outdoor compares to indoor

    • @VeganDeelite
      @VeganDeelite 2 года назад

      Indoors my best 20 min power is 3.85 watts/kilo, this effort was 4.25.
      Now I haven’t done a 20 min power on the trainer in recent years. This data is from a race so I could probably hit a bit higher, I’m guessing 4 watt/kilo.
      Definitely harder to nail on the trainer.
      Thanks for watching!

    • @jonmaloneycycling7593
      @jonmaloneycycling7593  2 года назад

      You can lose 20 to 30 watts easily inside

    • @LTBlightthebeam
      @LTBlightthebeam 2 года назад

      I think an interesting video would be to do a 20 min outdoor test and then trainerroad ramp test shortly after to compare the numbers.
