Right before Husk starts singing "Loser, Baby", he tells Angel that he used to be an Overlord... So his line, "I sold my soul to save my power" is referencing the fact that Husk ultimately sold his soul to Alastor in an attempt to keep his power as an Overlord (which he lost through gambling)
he gambled it to alastor, not sold it, but yeah it was just technicality.
Well, no, not to keep his status as an overlord but to keep his abilities as he would have lost the souks he had to alastor
So husk is a overlord level demon
@@AlexisTheDragonI think its both actually? He gambled away all the souls he owned to Alastor (which made him lose power as an overlord bc thats what makes an overlord powerful) and then sold his soul to Alastor so he could keep atleast some of his power as an overlord
I think he lost to Alastor, then basically offered his own soul as collateral for a "loan" from Alastor to try to win his souls back, and now either the number of souls to repay is too high for him to ever reasonably repay, or the due date came and went so now he just belongs to Alastor indefinitely, though he is still Overlord status.
Guess that’s why his name is husk
People have pointed out that Husk doesn't like Angel Dust but he likes Anthony

@@-Konig- That's Angel's real name. It's signed on the contract he has with Val. We see it when Val shows the contract in the dressing room
This episode was way better than it had any right to be, Husk is solidified as a top three favorite character, he's such a gentleman and so helpful and kind.
Husk and Angel Dust would be a great couple ngl. Although I think Angel Dust needs a little break from having a serious relationship after the physical and psychological abuse Valentino put him through.
@@murderman7265ONG IT WOULD BE SO ADORABLEEE
@@murderman7265 Very much so. Angel needs a good friendship right now, someone he can trust and talk to. Part of why Loser, Baby cheered him up is because Husk accepts Angel for things that other people would exploit him for, eg, liking that he's hypersexual but only because they can take advantage of and fuck him. Not to say Husk would ever exploit him ofc, but Angel needs to grow to realize that people are capable of just liking him and not wanting something from him. Angel would need to be the one to initiate a romantic relationship.
@@murderman7265 I don't know if they are still out there somewhere, but when they used to make the Instagram accounts for all of the characters there is art of Husk and Angel being close.
@@murderman7265 that would be adorable
Fun Fact:Valentino squeaks like a real moth does when he talks
Squeaks like a real moth?? explain pls?
@@salemkitty5786you can search how moth sounds like-they make this squeaking sound
When Val speaks, you can hear squeaking in background, especially when he tells Angel to go into his changing room
@@user-om5mg9sr9m Oooh okay interesting thanks
I love the little details that the characters have
Imagine being a threatening villian but you squeak
It hurt me so bad when he said "please don't hurt her". Like he can take it if its him but the other around him that he cares about mean more.
The fqct that you Completely missed husk saying he was an overlord is both Infuriating and Hilarious
I think he should pause the video everytime he has a reaction🤣
@@lodus_theone0128or go back a few seconds after he talks!
11:58 you missed this part. husk said that he was an overlord.
I was going to say that, he was yapping soo much soo often that he missed something that BIG.
As a victim all Angels scenes in this episode was so relatable and made me feel so seen. A lot of people criticised it but personally I loved it, felt realistic. Not to mention Poison and Loser Baby were amazing songs, absolute bangers.
Also Charlies reaction sums up the fandom so well, and also how friends of victims feel. I’ve seen friends go through similar shit to Angel (and me) and every time it makes me so angry. Good to see the representation of both victims and friends of them done so well.
I've seen a lot of people say this. Personally those scenes were very hard to watch, but they were certainly realistic. But I'm not going to complain about them being done poorly. They were just a lot and I wasn't expecting it.
I tried so hard to avoid spoilers, so I apparently missed all the drama about those scenes being included. Whoops 😂
I'm a survivor too, I agree. It was really well done.
Everyone reacts differently to trauma, its no suprise people were upset about the rawness and explicity of the scenes but so many other people felt seen and I think thats beautiful.
@@taz4002 oh it was hard to watch and I definitely cried a lot, but I also related so hard and I'm hoping people who watch this might understand better what it can be like..
Yeah, those scenes are hard to watch and bring back a LOT of awful memories (I made sure to watch them for the first time in a youtuber's reaction video so I didn't trigger my ptsd too badly) but I'm glad they exist. So many people would rather look away and pretend this shit doesn't happen. This goes double for male victims of abuse and SA so I think Hazbin Hotel addressing straight on and graphically is a good thing.
Husk was an overlord, he sold his soul to keep the power connected to that
husk said that but he skipped over it
@@user-pb4iw3pn9y Classic Scoot
It was a pleasure getting to hear Keith David sing once again. Which the song seemed to ignite dispute over its meaning.
It felt so nostalgic. I haven't heard him sing since the Princess and the Frog
I think you missed the part where Husk told Angel he was an Overlord once. But the implication is that he gambled away the souls he owned and thus lost his power. Somehow, he deal with Alastor was supposed to help him keep what he had, or gain it back but... it doesn't seem to have done that. Then again, there's still a lot we don't know about both of them individually as well as the nature of the deal they made.
Feels like he's warlocking it at this point. Still can do a lot of the things he used to be able to on his own power by using Alastor's at the cost of his soul. Those unique gambling based abilities don't seem standard issue for sinners. And if he ever did use them to claw back his his status, Alastor would then own an overlord.
@@AdderMoray makes a whole lot of sense!
Addict is a music video that looks into how Angel Dust is stuck in his deal with Valentino. It also shines a little on Cherry Bomb and how she and Angel are very close.
My guess as to what Husk meant, is he's essentially a "half baked" overlord, he no loner has the title or souls, but whatever powers he had associated with being a overlord (unique powers, wealth, etc.) are maintained through his deal with Alastor.
6:54 I think the song you are talking about is "Addict". Its also sung by Angel and it tells the same topics as Poison
And "Insane"!
When they are bound with ropes 12:05 , Angel's rope is chaotic and Husk's is neatly wrapped. Maybe pointing to the nature of their respective "owners".
Valentino being an emotional in-the-moment type & Alastor being neat/calculating.
Glad someone else noticed this
for me i thought it was cuz due to how long they’ve been owned but that makes more sense. angles seemed to have less where Husk seems to have more
Dude, I've seen you in like 30 other vids pointing this out lol.
Omg you're a genius
this leaves me thinking husk’s fate is probably even more tragic than angel’s. at least valentino wants angel for the money. we dont know what alastor’s motives are tho so he could do anything he wants with husk
Husk was an overlord,
An overlord is a very powerful demon, alastor is an overlord too.
Husk lost his powers due to gambling
I've only seen the first 4 episodes but something about Respectless just scratches the right part of my brain and it’s the one that has been stuck in my head, out of all the amazing songs in this show!
i personally don't like respectless ... but your right on the brain itch thing
I pretty sure Charlie alone could wipe out the overlords
I agree. She was ready to fight val and had no fear whatsoever. I believe she could have destroyed him
I believe it’s canonical that the only ones in Hell more powerful than Charlie are her parents.
@@HauntingHypatiasShelves
I like it that way
@@HauntingHypatiasShelvesCharlie is a neiphelm and they are a type of demon that ALWAYS get stronger than their parents, so Charlie will get stronger than them so, funny Charlie character development go brrr
I feel like that’s coming, got to give it time though
Poison deadass almost made me cry, especially the end of it with the voice crack. I listened to the song like ten times + more cause its just so good😭🙏🏽
I love seeing different reactors' reactions to this episode in particular. Intensity of the emotions varies, obviously, but I love that everyone always feels a sense of protectiveness over Angel to some extent ^^ that said, all in favor of wanting Niffty to tear Valentino's wings off?
6:58 The song we've been wanting you to check out was addict angel dust sings it and its about him and Valentino
The song is called “Addict” and it’s such a banger it has lived on my playlist rent free for three years lmao a reaction to that would be awesome 👏🏻
Ok so apparently Charlie despite being the second (with her mom) on the hell hierarchy she's too kind to use her power but she definitely could defeat powerful overlords on her own i hope we get to see it too
Heck, she wasnt scared at all to go up to val and fight him for hurting angel. I believe she definitely could have killed val
6:55 You're probably thinking of "Addict" :)
"Insane" too!
One of the moments where you were talking husk mentioned that he was an overlord. But He was too addicted to gambling that he started to gamble away his power thinking he would always win. And when he started to lose and lose badly out of desperation, he sold his soul to Alistair to keep some power. But as we have seen it. Backfired because the only real person who got power from it was Alistair
Husk's song definitely gives off "Friends on the Other Side" vibes. Gotta thank the great Keith David for making it sound so brilliant.
As for Angel's predicament. Given the abusive circumstances he goes through in his line of work, which of his songs stands out the most? It's Addict VS Poison.
Apparently I think Addict is no longer canon
What Husk meant by he sold his soul to save his power, you missed the part where he said he used to be an overlord while you were analyzing lmao.
Husk said he was an overlord, but he gambled his soul to Alastor.
Aside from her parents, Charlie is the most powerful being in hell. It’s just that she’s really nice and doesn’t really use her power nor does anyone take her very seriously because of how she acts. She might not even truely understand just how much authority and leverage she has/could have against essentially everyone
The power husk is referencing is the fact that he used to be an overlord
3:56 he's lucky Vaggie or Lucifer wasn't there
"Oh so they're going to be friends after this I see" Yeah...'friends'. Totally.
Husk said he was an overlord once but i think u didnt heard him while talking
The song before this is called "Addict" it highlights angel and his situation
Some other people have explained this already, but the explanations I'm seeing are a little different from how I understood it-- The overlords are so powerful because they own other souls (Camilla said in episode 3 that together the overlords owned thousands of souls, so they try to prevent losing "collateral" during exterminations not because they care about those souls but because they lose power if they lose souls). Husk was an overlord, meaning he owned many souls. But he was also a gambler, and he gambled the souls away in an attempt to gain more souls. Finally he was down to (probably) just his own soul and gambled with Alastor to "save his power" (I assume Alastor said he'd put a lot or even all of his souls that he owned and Husk was so desperate he took the deal, putting his soul on the line for the chance of regaining power).
I'm glad you're lovin this show, too. ❤ I can't wait for the rest and watch more of your reactions!
The song, "Loser Baby," reminds me of the reference, "I'm ugly and I'm proud!"
Husk was an overlord like Alastor before scoot lol that’s what he meant by trying to save his “power” bc he probably gambled with him before and lost that’s why he owns his soul
This episode made me so sick, it brought up bad memories of my sexual abuse and physical abuse as a child. I wish it had more of a trigger warning.
I think Angel’s music video that was probably recommended was “Addict” which was the first time angel sung anything but it was also by Angel’s original voice action in the pilot episode
A year after they released pilot episode, they released a music video “Addict” with Angel Dust and it’s really good
Husk was an overlord but you just talked over him when he said that
I tapped the notification as soon as it popped up. Love your reactions ❤
Huskerdust canon as they should be 👏🏼
The other song that's by angel dust and is sung by his old voice actor is called "addict" the most viewed video on vizzies channel
The song you are talking about that came out around the time of the pilot is called "Addicted"
Scoot for real just talking over the fact that Husk used to be an overlord •---•
A rough episode to watch it’s not bad I think it’s the best episode of the 4 so far but this display of what Angel goes through is exactly what lots of others go through which is to be expected to be seen in a show full of awful people. Keith David as Husk is so amazing the man can sing his vocals off and I love the duet he has with Angel it’s so cute and adorable after watching a traumatic episode. Valentino definitely showed why we should take him seriously in this episode cause wow I already knew he was gonna be a bad person obviously but damn. He’s a great villain tho and I can’t wait to see this story of Angel separating himself from Valentino.
Husk used to be a overlord, that’s the power he meant
"Our lives both suck, but at least our lives don't have to suck alone."
Noooooo the way he missed Husk saying he was an overlord omg 🤣😭
yea the song ppl r talking abt is addict and angel dust sings it with cherri bomb :)
lmao man talks over the line saying he was an overlord but notices the more implications one later
The song people were recommending was probably ADDICT. Its an official music video put out by VivziePop focusing of Angel Dust and Cherry Bomb
I know I'm late but I'm so glad your one of the few reactors who actually SEES what husk was trying to say and do. So many others get mad thinking husk is just being an ass not realizing our resident gambler is just trying to have angle "show his cards, Be who you are" instead of dissociating and burying all his trauma and hiding it behind this fake persona. He isn't like Charlie wanting to solve everyone's problems FOR them he's trying to give angle the means to save himself and an outlet to talk so he doesn't break.
there isn't only 8 episodes. it's been confirmed there will be at least 1 more season, maybe more.
Scoot humming to angel gettin backshotted is so crazy i love this LMFAO
7:02 Addict is the song you’re thinking of lol
Husk already said in the same episode that he was an Overlord that's what he means by "his power". Idk how you missed it....
Cant tell from the edit but did you miss the bit where Husk says he was an overlord?
Because that was a wild reveal.
13:17 Well they said it was 8 episodes but I'm pretty sure they mean 8 episodes for the 1st season. From what I've heard, There will be a 2nd season to come out later which idk how many episodes that would be but if it's also 8 then there will be 16 episodes in total.
12:02 wasn't really a sell, he gambled his soul to save his power, and lost, so he lost it all.
I really wish you streamed this. I was looking forward to watching it live with everyone in chat. It been a minute since I’ve caught a stream too. Oh well maybe another time. This was my favorite episode of them all so far.
I think the song you’re thinking of is ADDICT? It’s not really canon, the song is a fan-made song that Viv really liked and decided to animate.
Still, it’s a really nice watch as it gives an insight into Angel’s life.
I love that Charlie had to learn the lesson to respect boundaries, because even if it was well-intentioned, going against what a victim says with the long-term in mind could easily get them hurt or possibly killed in the short-term. It sucks but I doubt she can just void Angel's contract and relationship with Val regardless of her status. Frankly, it's not her business to fix it, she can only really extend help as far as Angel can accept it. It's a 'realistic' (I use that lightly since I think that a story doesn't need to be realistic to be told well) way of showing how to help people at their own pace. Also liked that instead of glorifying the abuse and SA that followed, Angel's perspective just became a lot more apparent.
I can't remember if you reacted to Addict or not, but if you haven't I think it's another great song that also highlights the dynamic Angel has with Val pretty well, in that it's a fucking terrible one. I think you'd like the song and video too.
I think if she found out about the contract, she'd go and make a deal with alastor to void it since alastor is presumably the strongest guy in hazbin outside of lucifer 😅
@@Axel_KasaiCharlie is stronger than al
At the beginning if the song I think you missed that Husk was an overlord
Charlie is stonger than Alastor but she refuses to use her power because she doesn't want to be mean or come off as hypocritical.
The song was addict from the pilot times
husk used to be a gambler overlord
This episode was PEAK
Poison is a Top 2 song, I'm not arguing
This may be the best episode so far
Imo it's either this episode or episode 2
The power Husk was talking about is his power as the Overlord, the control over the souls he owned.
He lost it now.
The other Angel Dust song they're talking about is probably "ADDICT." There's a full animated music video and Angel's pilot VA sang it.
I LOVE HUSK SM HE IS MY FAVOURITE CHARACTER I ALSO LOVE THE LOSER BABY SONG IT GOES WAY TOO HARD
I believe the song name is "Addict" and it has AngelDust and Cherry Bomb in it! It's with the old VA's as well.
Charlie is the third strongest in all of Hell, below her parents. She is the product of an angel and a demon.
She's just so sweet and seems harmless. But she's not.
The song they most likely are talking about is 911 by PARANOiD DJ. A DAMN good song. It's heavy, though, so prepare for that.
No, there talking about adicted
Addict is the song you were asking about
HIM BEING AN OVERLORD FLEW OVER YOUR HEAD 😭
The old music is called "addict", it's really good please watch it
It has the same vibe as poison, showing angel like he is having fun with his life, then showing how things are dark
The song is addict its called addict please listen to it its so good!
The song from before hazbin hotel release about Angel dust is called “addict”
The song I think you’re referring to is Addict. It’s an animated music video that came out when the original pilot came out, and it’s the first time we really see how bad Angel has it with Valentino.
The other Angel song is Addict with Cherri Bomb in a duet, it establishes Angel's abusive work relationship with Valentino.
Best song so far
Razor cards, exploding dice and sass, Husk is gambit, all he's missing is the cajun accent
I’m not for sure but I think the song you were thinking of is called addicted or addict , its sung by angel dust as well
if im not mistaken, the contract just confirms angel is literally owned by valentino. Angel is property to him which makes the whole breaking himself until hes let go make more sense, since most people dont keep around something broken they cant use anymore
You missed it, husk said he was an overlord with a gambling habit and he had gambled his souls and powers away so to save himself he sold the rest of his power to alastor who now has his power
He wasn't overlord, that's what power he was talking about.
Of which you were talking while he said that respectfully😊
10:30 He said he was an Overlord
So you were talking over it, but Husk used to be an overlord, until he sold his soul to Alastor.
I think ADDICT is the one you were told to react to
I still can't get believe they got the fuckin' Arbiter's voice for Husk... (Keith David)
Basically in this universe of hell, sinners can climb the ladder of power by claiming souls and partaking in deals of various conditions, once they have garnered enough power they essentially become an overlord, much more powerful sinners that rule small or large sections of hell, husk was one of these overlords, but due to his nature of gambling its easy to imagine he loses more than just money, eventually losing so much that he took on a deal with alastor in an act of desperation, he probably still has his power, but now he is in dept to alastor and is essentially his slave until otherwise.
THEY'RE FUCKING SINGING?! Hilarious line lol
When you asked about husks power I think you missed the part were he said he used to be a overlord.
the song from the pilot is called addict
Husk was an overlord. He was losing a gamble to alastor so he went all in which the deal was that he had to sell his soul to alastor in order to keep his powers but with this he lost the title of an overlord.
I wasn't sold on husk angle shipping but now? Yeah i see two broken souls bonding through shared trauma it's tragic but also kinda wholesome?
11:55 brother, come on man, Husk literally said that he was an Overlord like 1-2 minutes before.
Hes a gambler who gamble soul, quick way to gather soul but also a quick way to lose em. So when he's hit rock bottem cause of it he made a bet or a deal with Alastor
Bro talked through husks backstory then asked about it later
