@@Fuzbun I highly disagree. As I said, it's rough and not something to do into unprepared--I'm glad Amazon added a better, though still not as good as it could be, warning before the episode--but it's a necessary part of understanding Angel Dust as a character. Depictions of domestic and sexual violence shouldn't be completely left out of our entertainment media because they make us uncomfortable, as long as they're not included for titillation. The Poison scene in the episode isn't intended to be that, it's *intended* to be uncomfortable and horrible. It's intended to show us what Angel Dust is going through on a daily basis and the exact nature of the mask he puts on every day to appear to be okay when he is very much not okay. Which sets up why Husk is a better person to help him than Charlie.
@@FuzbunThere's no way not to show the bad of THAT industry without being crude. You have to make the problem visible to understand why it's wrong. If it manages to make us angry and upset, then the job is well done. In addition, they treat him with respect, perfectly done.

Loser Baby is such a banger of a song, especially since it comes right after Poison which was just...my god. Poison and the scene just before it truly shows how much of an abuser Valentino is 1:33 They are indeed talking about Alastor. See Alastor is the Radio Demon while Vox is all about TV and high tech so they kind of have this rivalry going on 2:43 It is and no, Alastor is not evil, per se, I mean he is evil, he's in hell after all but he's not a villain or an antagonist. I think Viv described him as an anti-hero 6:32 you are correct, that is indeed Alex Brightman So Poison is an...interesting song. It was leaked a few weeks before the show came out and a lot of people COMPLETELY missunderstood it's message. For context, the scene just before shows Valentino forcing Angel Dust to kick Charlie out of Porn Studios cause she was there to talk to Val to convince him to give Angel Dust time off but Valentino has Angel Dust under contract and he abuses him. Like, HARDCORE abuses him. The song truly shows how toxic Val is towards Angel but people missunderstood it ant thought the song was showing the two in a romantic light and glorifying SA. Hell, the actual scene during Poison actually shows Val RAPING Angel Dust, how people saw that and thought it was romantic is beyond me The song right after, Loser Baby, was also missunderstood as victim blaming when it's the complete opposite of that Oh believe me, EVERYONE was surprised by Velvette's British accent 17:34 Correct, that is indeed Keith David
One of my favorite angel dust lines from the whole show: “and maybe if I get broken enough in the process, I won’t be his favorite toy anymore” that combined with songs like poison reveal so much about his personality and means for doing what he does
YESSS! I'm so excited to watch you react to these amazing songs! Your reactions are always a joy to watch and you reacting to Hazbin Hotel is just the cherry on top :) Edit: OMG YES I would love to see your reaction to the show!
Keith David's character is Husk, a former Las vegas Stage magician who died in the 70's as an old man who became a gambling addict. So his number having all that neon and classic flash makes a ton of sense.
I absolutely fell in love with Loser, Baby. Its just the right amount of self deprecation but also seeking self worth kinda balance I need to get my day going.
i could listen to Keith David sing for hours on end and never get tired of it! he’s an absolutely stunning vocalist and no amount of praise and appreciation will adequately represent that (not trying to be weird about him as a person, i just really really like his singing voice)
loser baby was one of the best songs! Keith David is one of my Favorite actors and finding out that he was playing my favorite character, not only that but was going to get to sing!?!...
You should really make a part two, "happy day in hell" and "wathever It takes" are beautiful, and since you like Carmilla Carmine voice in "respectless" (the lady with white hair/horns) you gonna love her singing about protect her daughters in a duet with vaggie (voiced by the same person as Mirabel in encanto)
I love Vaggie's singing voice, but I don't really think it matches well with her. It's too high and sweet. A complete 180 from her speaking voice and personality.
@@paige8453 I acutually think It too, her speaking Voice is great but It was really high in her singing, the Sweet part I can get because she was singing about Charlie so It was out of love e Sweet for her, but the high notes are a thing expected of Charlie singing
@@paige8453 i heard that it was because she tries to put on a low gruff voice to act tough but shes more medium pitched when alone (idk if thats official or not so dont question me on it) but it does make sense since we know she doesnt really trust many people enough to be vunlerable
Well Alastor is not specifically evil, he's just very sadistic. Going to the lenghts of murder, manipulation and such. Also very proud, he can't stand if someone insults him.
13:56 is actually James Monroe Igleheart, who does the voice for Asmodeus on Helluva boss. Such an amazing voice. And it's so great to see both him and Alex Brightman in the show. Can't wait to see you react to the whole series! DO IT!
Something to remember is this show deals with the sinner part of hell, compared to Helluva boss which deals with people born in hell. The characters you see here were all humans who were sent to hell. Most of them are not good people. Hell the angels we see aren't good either. Charlie is like the only one who is just being a good person lol. Which Charlie is also born in hell rather than being a sinner if there's any confusion on why she's here.
All of the Hazbin songs are such bops, definitely worth checking out the whole series!! Oh, also, if you like Carmilla's voice (the gray demon lady in Respectless) you should def listen to Whatever It Takes, such a sweet song. On a different note I'm so glad Mathew could recognize both Keith David (Husk) and Alex Brightman (Adam) because I have not seen anyone point them out honestly and I just love that moment when people recognize who's singing and just immediately get excited and happy.
The song respectless is such a bop and the character zestial who said “we can’t act without more intelligence” is the same VA for Asmodeus such a good voice

Some of these songs really hit when you have the story and the visuals to go with them. And the show overall is so good. It was a bit of an adjustment to the new voice cast, but they are all doing phenomenal.
Ngl, seeing the song sang in show makes so much of the lyrics hit so much harder, like when Vox says "His medium is getting bloody rare" as he pulls out a bloodied deer head from the oven
Yep, episode 4 is a heavy one. Poison and Loser Baby together, with the whole storyline behind ? I may not be in the same situation as Angel but it hit hard. Feels nice to feel seen, to hear you thought take form. On another note, Stayed Gone is probably my favorite because it seems no one, especially not Vox, can talk shit about Alastor x) So yeah, react to the show :p

Loving that you reacted to the Hazbin songs! Great reaction. Also Alastor could be considered fruity due to the fact he is confirmed asexual! So he is apart of the LGBT+ community!
People who don’t want sехual relationships have nothing to do with being “fruity”, bc that’s is a gay male thing - and that’s, like, the opposite of being a gay man lol
@@paige8453 Yes. but if you go back to the era in radio broadcasting that Alistair emulates, they kind of all sound a little fruity. I think its the over the top vocal emoting because you can't pick up on body and facial cues through the radio. And today we tend to relate that over the top emoting to stereotyped gay men.
Mathew: "is this a sad a song for angel dust and some dude is gonna tell him 'stop being such a loser!'" The song: a dude telling Angel he is indeed a loser...but it's ok 💀
Fun fact: In the song Respect less the voice of Carmilla is Daphne Rubin Vega who is a big Broadway star who played Mimi in Rent and Daniela in In The Heights.
Fun fact- the reason the songs are so good is because literally the only singing characters in this entire show NOT voiced by a broadway star..... are; the one who is voiced by the same person as Mirabel from Encanto, the one who is voiced by the shadow man from Princess and the Frog
Everyone's voice in this show _is_ incredible. They specifically selected broadway stars when casting, and as much as I miss some of the pilot VAs, the sheer number of songs in Hazbin means it was the right decision.
I mean, they ARE in hell, so on average most everyone's gonna be terrible to one degree or another. lol The series has so many bangers already. I think Respectless and Poison are my favorites so far.

Adam x Zestial go brrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr /hj
He was also Travis(The demon Angel Dust smooched in the Pilot who called him a slut, he was also shown to be a terrible driver and frequents Valentino, Cherri and Angel Dust`s sex clubs in The Comics and "Addict" music video.)
Everyone in the show has a Voice Actor who can sing or has been on Broadway. In a Show thats produced as a Musical, Its a good to have a cast that can sing lol
THE THUMBNAIL MADE ME SCREAM HAPPILY CAUSE I WAS JUST LISTENING TO THE LOSER BABY SONG RN
its SO GOOD THO
@@MathewMcKenna IT REALLY IS!!
@@MathewMcKenna I Absolutely agree with you
Yes please watch Hazbin! Poison hits way fucking harder with the visuals accompanying the music. Also the show is just so fun to watch as well.
The actual scene that accompanies Poison in the show is... it's ROUGH. It's not something to go into unprepared. That said... PLEASE WATCH THE SERIES.
It's the worst part of the show
They shouldn't have even put it in there
@@Fuzbun I highly disagree.
I feel like this needs to be said: This is hell. Everyone's at least a little evil. (except maybe Charlie, but she's one of the only souls on the Pride ring that's not a sinner or possible fallen angel)
i almost thru hands when mathew spoke over camillas line "you and the vees and innate and uninformed" like sIR that was single handedly rhe best line of the song and you just sPoke over it TwT
Nobody could’ve done Loser, Baby as well as Keith David and I stand by that 🤷🏽♀️
Keith David is actually the Voice of Dr Facilier in Princess and the Frog! He’s been singing for years
Beat me to it
Loser Baby is such a banger of a song, especially since it comes right after Poison which was just...my god. Poison and the scene just before it truly shows how much of an abuser Valentino is
1:33 They are indeed talking about Alastor. See Alastor is the Radio Demon while Vox is all about TV and high tech so they kind of have this rivalry going on
2:43 It is and no, Alastor is not evil, per se, I mean he is evil, he's in hell after all but he's not a villain or an antagonist. I think Viv described him as an anti-hero
6:32 you are correct, that is indeed Alex Brightman
So Poison is an...interesting song. Hell, the actual scene during Poison actually shows Val RAPING Angel Dust, how people saw that and thought it was romantic is beyond me
The song right after, Loser Baby, was also missunderstood as victim blaming when it's the complete opposite of that
Oh believe me, EVERYONE was surprised by Velvette's British accent
17:34 Correct, that is indeed Keith David
I mean... Alastor is kinda evil. He's a serial killer and cannibalist. He's in hell for a reason.
HOW DID YOU WRITE THAT THE VIDEO JUST CAME OUT WTF
@@vigboi345 I write as I watch basically
@@SWTobito0702 I guess the better word to have used here was "antagonist" and not "evil"
Alastor is totally evil what are you on? The man was a serial killer and a cannibal on earth, a serial killer in hell, and he owns Husker's soul.
One of my favorite angel dust lines from the whole show: “and maybe if I get broken enough in the process, I won’t be his favorite toy anymore” that combined with songs like poison reveal so much about his personality and means for doing what he does
If you die normally, yess you come back
However, ‘Extermination’ is perma-death by angel
YESSS! I'm so excited to watch you react to these amazing songs! Your reactions are always a joy to watch and you reacting to Hazbin Hotel is just the cherry on top :)
Edit: OMG YES I would love to see your reaction to the show!
Morgan!!!!
MORGY?!
MORGAN?!
Morgan Terry!
MORGAN FREAKING TERRY
Keith David's character is Husk, a former Las vegas Stage magician who died in the 70's as an old man who became a gambling addict. So his number having all that neon and classic flash makes a ton of sense.
I absolutely fell in love with Loser, Baby. Its just the right amount of self deprecation but also seeking self worth kinda balance I need to get my day going.
matthew analyzing the characters just from the songs is INSANE cause why is he spot on LMFAOO
i could listen to Keith David sing for hours on end and never get tired of it! he’s an absolutely stunning vocalist and no amount of praise and appreciation will adequately represent that
(not trying to be weird about him as a person, i just really really like his singing voice)
loser baby was one of the best songs! Keith David is one of my Favorite actors and finding out that he was playing my favorite character, not only that but was going to get to sing!?!...
YOU SHOULD DEFINITELY WATCH ALL THE EPISODES!!! season one will be fully out in two weeks too!!
@@paige8453 I throught they pulled a Miraculous Movie, having someone else sing the song to the VA
I can’t explain the amount of pure happiness I felt when Matthew recognized that it was Angle Dust singing Poison. I love it!
Well Alastor is not specifically evil, he's just very sadistic. Going to the lenghts of murder, manipulation and such. Also very proud, he can't stand if someone insults him.
i wouldnt go as far as to say that he isnt evil, he just didnt do anything specifically evil YET, just… wait for season and we will know more
@@linkloyan4624 Yes, of course, this was before the season finale. But still. Even if he's evil, there is a more sentimental side to him.
The dude is literally one of the people in hell who we truly know deserve to be there so calling him not evil is incorrect.
@@matijasostojic4288 *Again* I wrote this comment *before* the season finale.
13:56 is actually James Monroe Igleheart, who does the voice for Asmodeus on Helluva boss. Such an amazing voice. And it's so great to see both him and Alex Brightman in the show. Can't wait to see you react to the whole series! DO IT!
"why does he sound a little bit fruity?" you got it spot on, alastor is literally ace

Wouldn't that make him the exact opposite, though?

Respectless, Stayed Gone, and Loser Baby have been the trio I've been obsessed with as of late
Stayed gone is amazing! However, it makes a bit more sense when you watch the scene as well!
He said "next is poison" AND I FLINCHED! Mathew is ready to know what that song is about.
Ah poor Angel, he deserved so much better
All of the Hazbin songs are such bops, definitely worth checking out the whole series!! Oh, also, if you like Carmilla's voice (the gray demon lady in Respectless) you should def listen to Whatever It Takes, such a sweet song.
On a different note I'm so glad Mathew could recognize both Keith David (Husk) and Alex Brightman (Adam) because I have not seen anyone point them out honestly and I just love that moment when people recognize who's singing and just immediately get excited and happy.
Adam's song definitely qualifies as the best rejection ever. I love him. He fucking rocks.
The song respectless is such a bop and the character zestial who said “we can’t act without more intelligence” is the same VA for Asmodeus such a good voice
I’ve been so hyperfixated on this series lately poison and stayed gone have been on non stop repeat the past two days seeing stayed gone first made me so happy
YOURE SO REAL FOR THAT !!! Same honestly.
@@sandwich_nextdoor im forcing (he wanted to after hearing about a duet but didnt know what he signed up for lmao he hasnt seen hazbin yet) my partner to learn stayed gone so we can sing it as a duet someday and ive been singing poison to myself at least like twice an hour im down BAD for this music-
@@Regimentblade WOAH thats awesome !! I just sing both parts 😭 (i think my neighbours are going insane cus Stayed gone is all they hear all day thx to the paper thin walls. :))
Im sure u guys will slay that duett, and i hope ur partner enjoys what he singed up for >:3
So glad your reacted to this! This show has such an amazing cast, concept and the songs are just mind blowing.
It really was exciting to see this vid!
You really need to watch the full episodes. I don’t care if you make them reactions or just for your personal entertainment. Some of these songs really hit when you have the story and the visuals to go with them. And the show overall is so good. It was a bit of an adjustment to the new voice cast, but they are all doing phenomenal.
"Turn the TV on!" man I wonder who they would be referring to **completely ignores the person with a TV for a head**
Ngl, seeing the song sang in show makes so much of the lyrics hit so much harder, like when Vox says "His medium is getting bloody rare" as he pulls out a bloodied deer head from the oven
Technically Mammon said the C word in Helluva Boss a bunch, but it was censored with a clown noise each time.
Yep, episode 4 is a heavy one. Poison and Loser Baby together, with the whole storyline behind ? I may not be in the same situation as Angel but it hit hard. Feels nice to feel seen, to hear you thought take form. On another note, Stayed Gone is probably my favorite because it seems no one, especially not Vox, can talk shit about Alastor x)
So yeah, react to the show :p
You're pretty close with the "he feels like hes broken" thing for Angel, but its actually, he's TRYING to break himself so valentino won't use him anymore because he wouldn't be perfect-

@@newhope-cat9089 I'm not? It's one fact from the show, that has nothing to do with the main plot lol
@@Svp3rN0va-xoxo It’s a pretty big reveal though, it broke me when I saw it. I wouldn’t want someone to spoil it for me lol
That's a major plot point and character reveal, and thus a spoiler. Could you just not?

His "what the f*ck?" During poison was absolutely hilarious💀💀💀💀
You've absolutely GOT to watch the full episodes! Yeah they're weird, but the're sooooo good.

I thought we’d have to wait to get this reaction. Happy you’re on top of these songs. 👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
I can't wait for you to cover "You didn't know"
Yo, got recommendend, probably because Ive been consuming nothing but HH content all week. Subscribed for the fact you're an actual react channel that adds your thoughts and whatnot unlike a lot of "react channels who barely add anything.
2:26 honestly wished you saw the video instead of just lyrics but okay lol
12:09 of course I would love it if you reacted to the episodes
“I wonder if I’ll end up getting emotional at this show” trust me, You will.
Yeah, the music in this show is absolutely phenomenal. For example, my favorite song is the other song from episode 3, "Whatever it takes". It's a duet between Carmilla Carmine and Vaggie, and it's genuinely one of the most beautiful things I've ever heard.
Not me yelling HUSKERDUST! HUSKERDUST! HUSKERDUST! the entire time during Loser Baby (pls don’t eat me)
Watch it, with you making a video of your reaction or just watching it in your own time, it's absolutely worth it
just an FYI Matthew, Loser Baby is even more emotional when you have the context of both characters stories from that particular episode
im always impressed how good songs from originally indie animations are. i mean this is talent beyond another level
YAY THE SONGS ARE INCREDIBLE
Man, seeing the actual animation to go with the song is such a big part in my opinion. Especially with Alistor's final bit at the end of "Stayed Gone"
Poison hits so much harder with the visuals but they definitely need to come with a trigger warning
Loving that you reacted to the Hazbin songs! Great reaction. Also Alastor could be considered fruity due to the fact he is confirmed asexual! So he is apart of the LGBT+ community!
Would he though? If he's ace and aromantic he feels no romantic or sexual attraction so he is not fruity in the slightest.
He's aroace but "fruity" just means queer so that could considered fruity@@paige8453
@@hurricanebubbles That's kind of fucked up though. It's basically just "hey, you sound gay" and that's fucking weird.
Mathew: "is this a sad a song for angel dust and some dude is gonna tell him 'stop being such a loser!'"
The song: a dude telling Angel he is indeed a loser...but it's ok 💀
Yes, please watch the series, it's amazing!
Btw, you just missed the song "Whatever It Takes" to complete all the best songs of the show (imo).
You absolutely should watch the series. It’s so good. And it’s not scared to tackle the big problems.
Oh my god yesss, I would definitely watch your reactions the Hazbin Hotel. It’s such a great show.
I can't believe you didn't end up reacting to "Whatever It Takes", when you had said that you liked Carmilla's voice 😭.
"I can't really tell if he is evil or an anarchist."
You and the entire audience currently caught up hahaha.
Everyone's voice in this show _is_ incredible. They specifically selected broadway stars when casting, and as much as I miss some of the pilot VAs, the sheer number of songs in Hazbin means it was the right decision.
NO WAY I almost fell out of my chair when I saw the notification
I mean, they ARE in hell, so on average most everyone's gonna be terrible to one degree or another. lol The series has so many bangers already. I think Respectless and Poison are my favorites so far.
You should listen to 'Thank you and goodnight' by the original pilot cast! It's like a farewell to the fans and it's a bop!
I WOULD LOVE TO SEE YOU REACT TO THE FULL EPISODES OMG YES
I love how Keith David is the voice for Husk, makes Husk one of my favorite Hazbin Hotel characters ❤❤❤
