Three weeks postpartum now. I watched your videos to help me manage my second pregnancy. I had a C-section with my first and was hoping for a successful VBAC with this one. Well...ya. So I had one whole day of irregular contractions that were definitely uncomfortable but false alarm. Next day mucus plug came out. Two days later, what felt like your typical Braxton Hicks were super regular and fitting the pattern of real labor, then stopped. Two days later, go in for my OB check-up, ultrasound technician kept asking me about the contractions that were going on and I said I was sure they were nothing. Doctor checked me and said I was about 80% effaced and 4cm. Scheduled me an induction for the following week because I had too much amniotic fluid. I was 38 weeks and four days, but she didn't believe I was going through labor yet. Five hours later, bloody show, same ol' mild contractions I've had for days. One hour later was on all fours in crazy agony. Started counting the contractions and they were getting closer by the minute, although somewhat manageable. Seriously confused at this point because I went from nothing to full blown active labor, but we figured we had time and was getting things together and called someone to pick up our daughter. About 30 minutes into it I threw up, tried to lay down and water exploded out of me (lol). We were heading for the car when I fell to the floor in terrible pain, on all fours and body pushing uncontrollably. Told husband to call 911. I felt my cervix opening up and I was definitely worried about having a VBAC on the floor next to the front door. As soon as they loaded me into the ambulance, I felt him coming and three pushes he was out. We're both healthy no issues. But my goodness, no one told me contractions could start and then an hour and half later I'd be able to pop a baby out (especially after a C-section). Sometimes apparently labor sneaks up on you. Definitely listen to your body and if you know there's no way you're going to make it to the hospital, call 911, because my husband was convinced we could make it in the car and was at first resistant to call an ambulance. We live half an hour from the hospital. Our baby would've seriously been born in the car or if we drove fast enough, right in front of the hospital.

I just had my 5th baby. You’d think I’d know by now when it’s true labor. My contractions never got too much closer together, stayed 5 min apart but got stronger. My husband called the midwife because I kept saying it was prodromal labor like I always get. Good thing he called because she made it just before baby boy came!

Discomfort started sat night around 11pm. called nurse hotline around 3pm on Sunday because of the intense pain, was told to wait until my contractions are regular ( certain mins apart), even if I went in they'll just send me home?! Went to the hospital around 10:30pm because I was shaking uncontrollably due to intense pain, labor and delivery nurse checked and I was 8cm dilated and ready!!! Wheeled me into the delivery room and baby arrived after midnight. The whole time my contractions were never "regular". I'm still bitter about that nurse who told me to go to the hospital because they'd just send me back home since my contractions weren't regular. Everyone's body is different!!! Listen to what your body's trying to tell you.

I am in labor according to this info... and have been for 3 weeks. Just like with my first 2 children. I do not consider myself in labor. Yes my cervix is shortening and dilating (4 cm by now) but it's seems that I need my water breaking to get the more regular and painful contractions. With my second child I turned out to be 7 cm dilated during the last checkup without any regular or strong contractions. They didn't dare to let me go home that way and broke my water. One hour and fifteen minutes later she was born.

Started having contractions Monday that were 10-15 minutes apart the whole day, so Tuesday my doctor checked me and I was 1cm dilated and 60-70% effaced he told me that my body is basically starting labor and stopping. Well it’s now Thursday with contractions still on going and I’m tired of it, I just want her out already!! But today and yesterday I’ve been losing huge parts of my mucus plug!! Hoping that means more progress?? I have my regular obgyn appointment on Tuesday again next week so starting today until my appointment I’m going to be dancing etc to try and get my labor going more. I’ll be 36weeks Sunday and at my last ultrasound she was 6lbs so my doctor told me if she came 36 weeks and up that she will more than likely do wonderful!
But I have to say thank you for your videos because I watch them a lot and they have so much information ❤️❤️

37 weeks, c-section was supposed to be this Monday (it is Thursday), went to hospital last night for 511 contractions I could not stand up or talk during. Labor slowed a little but did not stop for hours while there, but sent home for no dilation. Same 511 this morning, went back. They rescheduled c-section for Saturday morning after I said please don't make me labor for a weekend for no point. I got a morphine rest, I quickly ate and then passed out at home as I had been puking during contractions as was starved feeling. Woke up a bit ago, straight back to the same contractions and nausea. I'm taking it as a sign that this was my time anyway, I just have to make it through tomorrow as it is my eldest's birthday. SO is trying to keep me as relaxed and rested as he can.

I had a false alarm. Contractions 5-1-1 for several hours, resting on a couch, taking a nice long bath, trying to sleep and not really being able to waking up to contractions (painful), not comfortable at all, 1cm, no effacement. Had a really good cry and my midwife said the crying is good, will give me good endorphins and low and behold, it all stopped after a good hour of crying.
With my first when that happened for several hours, it was early labor and I progressed to 3cm when I first went in to say "I'm in labor" then they got closer together and I kept progressing. Glad I got a hotel room nearby, instead of the 40 minute drive, because although I was sent away I hit active labor that night and was 5 minutes away from the birth center. So, I thought it was a repeat. Difference between the two, this baby has actually "dropped" my first never did until I was around 8cm, so some sensations I guess I was not aware of.

I just watched your "boost your milk supply " video last night. I was wondering if you had any tips for moms that have babies that bite or are really aggressive or anxious. I stopped nursing my girls at around 8 or 9 months because biting was becoming an issue. I also had an issue with my baby scratching or gripping my chest repetitively that was very painful. I also struggled with baby being distracted and would only latch for a few seconds at a time. Feeding her was very frustrating. I really want to breast feed my third baby who is coming in late April or early may but I'm afraid the same thing will happen. Any advice or video would be appreciated. Love your videos!

I have a question concerning this that’s been on my mind for a while! My best friend was two weeks late with her baby years ago and when contractions started up her water eventually broke but she never dilated to even 1cm. After 24 hours post water breaking she had to get a c-section. Is this common?? Was that considered prodromal labor even though her water broke? I’m now pregnant with my first and super nervous this will happen.
    Love your videos!!

With my first child I was 3cm at my 36 wk check and stayed that way for three weeks and then went to 4cm. I was induced but he was only two days “late” and I was at a 5 when we started. I never felt contractions in the way of something painful, closer to my due date I had a few times where my belly became tight. Is it possible to not feel early labor?

Great informative video! Question though - how would you explain women who haven’t had any contractions, and yet, they get a cervical check and they’re already a few cm dilated? 🤔 if labor = cervical change through contractions, then how do some women dilate without contractions? Or do they just not feel the contractions?
