As of Nov. 11, 2024 FrSky's TW-SR8 stabilized receiver has issues when attempting to update to firmware version 1.0.9, via the update over-the-air (OTA) with an X20R transmitter running the latest 1.1.14 . I've encountered an "OTA update error - receiver not supported" message, which seems related to a newer firmware feature requiring identity verification for each receiver, resulting in OTA update failures. I'm not the only person who's had this issue. No problem with the TDSR10 so it works properly with the latest Lua Scripts that are required to use the stabilized receivers. Hopefully Frsky is listening.
Thank you for your great videos! Question: I have (2) receivers (a Archer Plus R6 and an Archer SR10 Plus). I need 12 channels for my model and I would like to have the +R6 also function as a redundant receiver. I have a TD X20 R Transmitter. Is there a way I can do this?
That should work... Kinda. Hook up your receivers master - set one ch to sbus in and on your redundant receiver - sbus out. I do think that if you lose signal to the secondary receiver, you'll lose whatever servos you have plugged into the secondary. If you lose signal to primary, the redundancy system will take over and use the rf from the secondary to control the primary receiver's servos. (Sbus is only one direction). So if you have to do it this way, select non critical servos to plug into the secondary. For the mode you want to run, i used an sbus to pwm converter to get more channels. Then i still used the second receiver just for redundancy.OR you could run the Sr10 plus, the r6 for the channels and add another receiver for redundancy.

Thx for your great videos, very useful ! One quick question regarding rx updates. Do we have to pull the rx out of the plane and disconnect all servos prior to updating it thru OTA ? Or is it ok to doing the update with all servos connected ?
Internal uses the internal RF unit. If you are using an external RF unit that plugs in the back of the radio, you use the external OTA if that external RF unit supports OTA .

The new update is BS don't do it. You have to reset sooo many things.
