Hey Darren. It looks like V2.06 Lua is for ETHOS SR10+ and TD SR 8-12 receivers. I had both of these receivers exhibit a weird phenomena on a gas plane. Channels 7-10 had a serious jitter in them only when the engine was running. I thought it was ign interference, WRONG. It was the 2 independent Stabilizing Functions thing. It was cured by turning OFF the "Second Independent Stabilizing Functions" using the Lua Script V2.06. Its on page 2 of 2 !!!, which is hard to find to adjust. It is ON by default, not a good idea IMHO. This video showed me how to find page 2, at 13:55, thankfully. I hope this helps others who stumbled on this like me. Thanks
Thank you for holding my hand and helping me learn my new Fr-SKY gear. My last radio was a fm futaba, so this is a pretty big jump! Incredible how far things have come in 20 years.
I have tried what you explain in the video but with an Archer plus + receiver, not the pro, but it doesn't work for me. The SXR goes back to off all the time. For my receiver would it have to be done differently or does it only work for the pro? Thank you for the video!

Would be good to see a video covering a few of the things I saw in this video-The changes in Ethos suite, how to install new luascripts onto the radio so they show in the touchscreen menu's, perhaps even one showing how to do nifty things like change the name in the centre of the title bar like you did with your one awhile ago and used your own logo-I'm sure it's easy, but it would be cool to have videos showing things like this for people and you are definitely leading the way with Ethos Video's mate. 10/10
Hi Darren great video to help us! I have the X20S FCC version and I already used EthosSuite to update my X20s with the latest Firmware ver 1.4.9, FCC already. Do I still need to update my X20s to the latest RF Firmware ISRM -TD Module to ver TD 2.2.4. Are they separate software components. When I go to the info screen, i only see the Firmware Version 1.4.9. But i don't see the Internal Module TD-ISRM version info. Why is that. Thanks.
Thanks Ted. Yes, they are two separate firmwares. So you will need ti update both. You will only see the version of the internal module if it is enabled in the current model.
@@MrD Yes sir, that's where my lua scripts are at on the sd card, standing alone by itself, just the scripts folder containing cali; and sxr . Radio still won't read it..

It would take someone in the community, who knows LUA, has ETHOS, and would like to contribute time to the project.
Hi Darren, thanks for the video. I am a bit confused you about the receiver you are adding the Lua Script to FW up date. You are saying you are updating a Archer 10 plus but you showing a SR10 pro. Do you use the same Lua script for Eather one of those receivers? would the same download be for both of them. I look the download for the SR10 pro Lua Script it said it is for open TX. I have a SR10 pro receiver. Thank you.
Hi Darren, will you be doing a vid on how to set up a sensor using an SR8 pro or SR10 pro? To an x20 using ethos? Struggling a little and your videos are so informative. Cheers-Ant
I must congratulate you, on your knowledge of the FRsky system. Were you involved in the development? On the SR8 Stabilized RX, how does the RX recognize the 4 controlling channels? I contacted FRsky, BF finding your channel, and they indicated a different channel for the Gain (Ch13) and the modes (but did not specify a channel for modes) BTW what happened to CH11? Why was it overlooked? Does the RX have to be powered during the TX programming, to recognize the keystrokes as they are entered? It also should not be this hard to program a toy airplane!!! Apparently the word 'Intuitive' does not translate into Chinese???
It's a little bit clunky to be honest, frsky seem to be releasing product quiker than ethos devs can keep pace with. That said, apart from the missing XT30 connectors which I had really grown to like, and configuration being in the wrong part of the OS, the new archer plus SR10+ is fantastic. Two independent gyros on the same receiver opens up a lot of possibiities. Assuming they release an archer plus 12ch stab rx, i can replace some fairly complicated setups in thrust vectored EDFs with a single rx. Even just having independent yaw stabilised channels means you can effectively use one as a steering gyro, without overcooking rate gain on the rudder. What i'd love to see is independent flight modes for the two stab loops. Frsky are really knocking the hardware out of the park.
THANKS I see you plug in the USB in the transmiter and you get a 3 choice pop-up window. I don't get that. Did I miss something? I am up to date on everything.
Hi, I’m trying to calibrate the TD SR 12 receiver. I can’t seem to get the icons that you get on your radio. The one that appear after the info icon. I downloaded the Lua scripts, but I think I’m putting them in the wrong place???? Please help.
Hi Mr D Can you please help? I have been attempting to set up Stabilisation. All firmware and scripts are up to date. The receiver is bound and stabilisation channels 13, 14, 16 haves been set. SR10+ Calibration is complete OK Self check carried out, all stick gimbals calibrated Gyrogain adjustment on Channel 13 working OK Flight modes on channel 14 working OK, although I can not see any point with the switch in central position as all it seems to do hold all control surfaces in the central position, the same as when the gimbal sticks are central.(excluding throttle). Here is my problem: I cannot get channel 16 emergency mode to work. I can see the switch is active in the Mixer and also in Outputs, but the control surfaces do not change when tilting the aircraft? Completely dead. I have two SR10+ receivers and neither of them work in emergency mode. I have successfully set up SR8 stabilisation receivers in other aircraft OK. Does anyone out there have a solution to this issue? Thanks a lot Rosco
With the new ArcherPlus stabilised receivers. The stabiliser function channels have changed from 9-12 to 13-16. Currently, the Archer and ACCST stabilised receivers are using old firmware. So they stay on 9-12. I don’t know if that will change in the future.

Hello again. I was busy for a few days and came back to this issue again. Been through your video a number of times which are so helpful but was still not getting anywhere. Remembered seeing a manual for my receiver which is an Archer Plus SR8. So I thought I'd download it and take a look. Then I found that I had the switches set on the wrong channels. I just presumed that all the stabilised receivers would work the same. Switched the gain to channel 13, the modes to 14, it says to use 14 and not 15 when using the quick mode and the oh crap, I've called mine panic on 16. Now I've got the stability working, I can see the difference in flight modes ,have the rotary switch working for gain adjustment, thanks to your video. Just brilliant. 👍
Yes, Archer Plus have changed the channels from 9-12 to 13-16. The non-Archer Plus receivers are currently still using the old channels. I’m glad you got this working 👍🏻
Hello Sir! hope you are having a super day. I just installed Sr10Plus receiver and I'm not having good time with it. This how I've got mix page setup. With the receiver switched on, i have module listed at the top of the SRX stable menu. I select open and the options on the lost light up. I can select stabilizing on, quick mode on, select wing type, mounting type and inverse ailerons and elevators. I can operate servos by sticks but no stabilisation. Im on transmitter firmware 1.49, internal module firmware 2.2.4 and receiver firmware 1.05. Ive downloaded the LUA script 2.05. Am i missing a setting somewhere?
Ok Darrin i'm at a loss here, i have done everything that u did i think but my x18 still will not read the temporary Lua scripts; there are no icon buttons to click on beside the info button, it won't read the scripts. I have the archer sr 10plus just like this one and although the sxr is calibrated and it works on mode select on channel 14, master gains on 13, oh crap on 16. all that works, but on level only i cannot change the orientation of the receiver, nor will sxr enable; self check won't work none of that. Lua scripts are on my sd card just like yours. about ready to abandon this frsky nightmare and go back to my NX-8; at least i know what i'm doing there. Love the videos i wouldn't be as far as i am right now without them; plz help.
If the icon is not appearing, the scripts are not in the correct location. On the X18, they will probably need to be on the NAND storage, not an SD card. Inside the scripts folder, you should also have folders for the specific scripts. For those tools, there should be SRX_Cali and SRX_Stab folders. Each one containing the relevant files, as they are found in the FrSky_AP_STAB_RX_v2.05.zip file. The safest way to install is to copy the scripts folder in the zip file to the root of the drive on the transmitter. This will ensure that everything is in the right place. There is a bit of a learning curve. But trust me, once you're in the swing of things, it's a massive improvement over Spektrum. Spektrum is overpriced and has a bad RF link. So many planes at my club have been lost due to Spektrum's bad signal.
Hi mate, thanks for that vid again….Still have problems with X20S, SR10+ Receivers….Everything is up to date and Lua Scripts also…As soon as I turn stabilisation on, there will be no output on the channels, just on gas…I tried it now with the second SR10+ and both show the same issue…Maybe you can show the combination of SR10+ together with the X20S in one of your next vids…by the way you can turn back to page 1 in Lus by longer pressing the Return button….Best regards and keep up your brilliant work.
Sounds like it's the infamous "Self Check" procedure again. Perhaps You have inadvertently limited channel movement to 0%. Advice is to never activate "Self check"
@@Schippi2001 the best solution is never do a “self check”…it sounds crazy but all it does is to reduce servo travel limits on each axis. Unless you have very bad servo geometry using a less than 30 per cent of servo travel, this is never a problem anyway. I have used dozens of frsky gyro receivers without ever selfchecking or calibrating. Now, if you must “self-check”, make sure that u do not inadvertently reduce servo travel to zero, which explains the common symptom described in hundreds of frsky S8R/SR10 question threads.

And now i can't flash the new 1.0.9 firmware which came out on oct. 20th; just a few days ago. i flashed 1.0.8 just fine but now having problems flashing the new update; keeps saying binding, binding; binding!!! I never had any of these problems with spectrum; i just didn't want to spend 900 - 1300 dollars to gain more channels, this seemed like an alternate choice but i'm not so sure right now; kind of a pain in my back side. What a learning curve it has been, i feel like i've gone to college on electronics!!
@@MrD Hello Darrin, i am using bootloader onto my sd card just like you. OTA worked on 1.0.8; but not on 1.0.9; it keeps saying binding until you return out or go back then the receiver will bind up to the radio.
if you wanna setup a camera gimble on CH 7,8 you have to turn off "stabilizing" on page 2 otherwise putting it in autolevel mode will make CH7 do funny things for some reason.
To be honest, it looks like some things on the 2nd page aren't quite right. Like there are settings for Ail 4 and Ele4, on channels. But not Ail 3 and Ele 3. You can set up the gain and things for them. But no turn them off. I would imaging Ail 3 would be on Ch 7, and Ele 2 on Ch 8.
Please redo all your videos with a Radiomaster Tx16 or any modern EdgeTx radio. There is a real need for information related to NON-frsky radios and binding the new AP rxs.
Sorry. I don’t have a TX16S. For the most part, EdgeTX is similar enough to OpenTX. Also, personally I am not a fan of EdgeTX at all. I hate the interface, and there are so many little annoyances that make me stay with OpenTX on my Horus. I know that I will need to move on at some point, as OpenTX is basically a dead system now. But, when the time comes, I’m more likely to move to ETHOS now, over EdgeTX. I’m actually finding that I’m missing stuff from ETHOS now, when I make changes on my OpenTX radio.
@@MrD I had the chance to see a few of the Ethos radios this summer. The OS/UI is really nice but the form-factor of those radios kills me... I wish they would make a modern Taranis. Edge is great though. Keeps getting better.

@@MrD Ok thx Darrin, i will try that.
@@MrD No sir, had to load the temporary Lua scripts onto my radio bin; then it found them no problem; nothing else would work.
How can we fix that problem? Probably I’ve got the same issue. Thanks!
@@leohcheung thanks for your quick answer! I will check this. But I still have the issue with the non working settings in the tool. In the system menu it works but not in the model menu.
Pleased these are working.
Thank you
And now i can't flash the new 1.0.9 firmware which came out on oct.
What process are you using to update the receiver?
@@MrD Hello Darrin, i am using bootloader onto my sd card just like you. OTA worked on 1.0.8; but not on 1.0.9; it keeps saying binding until you return out or go back then the receiver will bind up to the radio.
@@MrD Thx Darrin, fixed all my problems for now; keep putting out those videos cause i'm watching and learning.. Fly ur models like u stole them!!
if you wanna setup a camera gimble on CH 7,8 you have to turn off "stabilizing" on page 2 otherwise putting it in autolevel mode will make CH7 do funny things for some reason.
@@MrD ya, i emailed frsky back and forth, they're fixin it i guess. Now I gotta learn to stop smashing the nose gear landing the A10
@@MrD can the receiver power 11 servos I got on the A10? Someone was talking about powering servos directly?
