@Alyssa There are many Europeans in Jamaica. The Majority of people in Britain are white. When a black person speaks with an English accent no one feels the need to point it out because they are in the minority. The real problem it seems to me is some black people trying to own the Jamaican language. These people tend not to live in Jamaica. It comes as a real shock to them that Jamaican is spoken by everyone that lives there,no matter what race they are.The real deal is this. People in Jamaica don't care what race you are.Once you speak Jamaican in Jamaica you are regarded as Jamaican. Wha yu tink a mi written hinglish? Mi stoosh e man !!
I still don't get people who can't understand that accent comes from the place where people grow up, not their physical appearance. It was nice to see your dad again!
@@StoutProper And I will drink a pint of Guinness to that.Or better still a bottle or export Guinness brewed on the Spanish town road Kingston, as it's much stronger. Of course the man is a Jamaican. My parents are from Pakistan. I was born and raised here in Canada, so I have a Canadian accent. Brown guy with a Canadian accent, it’s where you were raised, is where you get your accent, and slang from !
Lol that’s an old Jamaican accent😂which I can understand this generation Jamaican accent is hard to understand since they don’t take their time to speak and always rushing their talking
Love this! Crazy that some people can't accept, or have to question things. It's almost 2018, can't we just be who we are and enjoy each other's uniqueness already? 😊 👍
typikelly, - Love hearing your dad speak as , well because my dad is also white Jamaican as well. You're dad looks familiar to my family of German Jamaican ancestry. I believe your dad knows my Uncle Peter Buckeridge. You sent me a Facebook message awhile back . Happy Holidays to you and your family
I showed a previous post on this channel to a black Jamaican work mate he was surprised to hear a white person with a Jamaican accent if you are born there regardless of race you will have the accent I was born in london spent most of my life in ireland but still have my English accent as I left London when I was 5 yrs old Pleasant videos you have a nice father enjoy listening to him talk about Jamaica Heard white Irish Montserrat people talking with a West Indian accent but I think that place is mostly devastated now from the volcano big shame was a beautiful place God bless
l know the feeling but in reverse...my mom and dad are 4th and second generation blk canadians...so growing up...wht and blk ppl were expecting to hear a west indian accent..but were shocked to hear their cdn accents...neighbor was wht from st vincent..lived in canada for 40 yrs...still had same accent..that shocked us....
I have a similar issue My dad's parents are Haitians, my grandfather was born to a half Syrian/Taíno Haitian father and a full blooded Taíno Haitian mother, my grandmother was born to a Haitian father who was of half Haitian/Dominican Taíno descent and a Haitian mother who was of mixed French and Taíno ancestry. On my Mom's side of the family my grandmother was a White American of Polish ancestry and my grandfather was born to a mixed Puerto Rican of Spanish origin, Portuguese and Dutch descent mother, so she was basically a White Woman and my grandfather's father was of mixed Afro Barbadian (Afro British West Indian), African American, Native American Cherokee, and Chinese ancestry.
Real Jamaican people who come from yard kno seh we have a hole lotta race back home.mi baby cuzzin a kingston is mix wid indian an Jamaican har faada which is mi uncle a Jamaican n har madda is tru Indian dat born a jamaica.. #Respect #outofmanyonepeople #onelove
The best thing is when you tell people you're dad is Jamaican. Haha. They probably don't believe it. BUT, I actually know a white girl from Jamaica, who now lives in TX so it's not that crazy.
Kelly, people who keep saying to you your father doesn't sound jamaican are not Jamaicans themselves. They clearly dont have an ear for the accent. Don't entertain these ignorant people. Just enjoy your heritage and background. Bless up
If he was born in Jamaica that means that his parents raised him there so that is why he can speak that language. And the black jamacians were originally from africa.
Of course your accent would change over time. You live in a foreign country, and therefore, your Jamaican accent, would obviously change. What annoys me is this, I have come across comments, where ignorant ones say you aren't Jamaican, simply because of your skin colour. (Your daughter should also own her Jamaican nationality.) I recalled you saying in an earlier video, years ago when Kelly was a teenager, (well she looked that way...) That Kelly too, was born on the island. My father is also a white Jamaican of Jewish and Syrian ancestors...Jamaicans are from a mixture of many, hence the motto... "Out Of Many, One People."
I sure ur dad as been asked many times and sick of the same questions but did he find it hard to adjust from the Jamaican climate to where u guys live here?

Kelly I have noticed that your hair changes colour when you wash it. It turns darker and looks black. My girlfriend washes her hair and this doesn't happen... I am tripping out LOL
We don’t call him a white Jamaican! He is just Jamaican ❤️💪🏽🇯🇲
