Australian Aborigines are referred to as indigenous because as far as we know they were the first people there even though they originally came from somewhere else. That's the general meaning of indigenous. So in this sense, there are indigenous Jamaicans, although whether there are any left now is another question. They are, however, in the gene pool there somewhere.

I've picked out the Irish in Ontario Canadian as well. It's fun to notice things like that. As a NYer, I've noticed Italian, Irish, Puerto Rican, Black, & Jewish NY accents. The Irish speak the NY accent like Dominicans speak Spanish. Personally, it interests me, but I feel lonely in that.

I was in Chiswick-London on Wednesday 20th August 2014 around 11am and a really good looking Jamaican guy shouted me twice saying 'Yes Beauty!' in a strong Jamaican accent. We smiled at each other but I didn't stop to talk as I was attending an interview that day, but now I wish I had spoken to him. He was VERY light skinned, he almost looks white and I think he had green eyes, but he is definitely JAMAICAN. He has light coloured hair and a cute smile and was on a white van on Chiswick High Road London (England). I'm not sure of his age but he could be around 27-37 years old. But I'm really not sure what his age is.....I am also of Jamaican heritage myself, but I was born in the UK. I am quite tall, smooth skin and he called me 'beauty!' I am black lady in my 20s with a medium complexion (but I'm not light), I wear my hair straight and black. Hopefully he should remember me because there aren't many black ladies in Chiswick.
