For anyone wondering, there are weapons that can hurt Viltrumites, but they are hard to find. Nolan actually kept track of all of them in his books
so,
shao khan hammers
scorpion’s spear
johnny cage’s trophy
sento
nightwolf’s arrows
sektor’s missles
erron black’s guns
kano’s knifes
kung lao’s hat
are all deadly weapons against viltrumites
Robot later in the series just starts taking down Viltrumites like they're nothing

Mk logic makes him powerless for thaat precise moment
It's just a weird choice, that they don't really address but just expect you to go along with it because it's mortal kombat. On one hand He's from a race of the most powerful beings in the universe, and is practically stronger than anyone in the MK universe, but then here he just gets killed in brutal ways. It would have made sense, if it was explained (along the lines of his dlc story) that while he's still extremely powerful, the physics in outworld work differently, meaning He's vulnerable to certain things, weapons, powers all work differently on him, meaning He can be killed and has to be more careful. It makes even less sense, if you beat the campaign with his character, since in the epilogue He and the other viltrumites conquer outworld and other realms like nothing. So is he killable or is it just a gag?? This is why I think not every popular franchise works in MK.
Y'know, this makes me extremely ready for Homelander being put in.
I was not interested in watching Omni man get fatality'd, but I want to see homelander get hit with every single fatality in the book.

Id like to think when characters get dragged into the mk universe theyre put on par with eachother to make the fights more entertaining for the announcer. Plis the recent episode of invincible showed us that even humans can make weapons that kill him

There's something funny about characters like these getting their faces smashed in, heads lobbed off, being split in half and many more, meanwhile I can recall guest characters in Tekken 7 not triggering certain outro animations, like for example Kazuya's "your pathetic" chokehold. This and many more is a reason why MK still has the best personality in terms of fighting games
