The year is 2013, you’re 12 years old and it’s 9pm on a Sunday night and you’re sitting in the living room with your father and older brother and this soundtrack comes on..time is beautiful and valuable.
Yes bro take me back I watched the very first episode, no internet no nothing just pure tv and atmosphere was different hearing and watching this as it was the 1st ever zombies to stream on Television
It might sound dumb to some people but hearing this tonight brought tears to my eyes. This show has been such a huge part of my life since 2010 and now it's ending. I still remember how excited I was back in 2010 when I found out there was going to be a TV show about zombies. I'd never heard of The Walking Dead before then and I was blown away when I watched the first episode; I thought it was the greatest thing ever. My favorite seasons were those early ones, seasons 1-5. Hearing this song now, and seeing that iconic image of Rick on that horse riding in to Atlanta ("Do not enter the city. It belongs to the dead now") brings back so many memories, of Glenn saving Rick, Amy at the camp, Jim under the tree, Hershel's farm, Sophia...endless memories, both in the show and in real life. Friends and family who were alive when this show started are no longer here and I miss them. I'll miss this show too.
Same mate same. I remember when the first episode aired on History TV 18 channel and I stumbled upon it at my grandparents home. Just finished the final season and ready for the 3 spinoffs.

During first seasons this intro really made you feel like the world ended and is a scary place where you need to be alert at every moment, now the atmosphere is gone.
I'm currently binging the series for the first time, at the beginning of season 4 now (RIP Merle man, I came to really like him near the very end when he was trying to redeem himself). As a first time viewer I honestly think it excels most when it's more character driven drama rather than horror survival when it shows more about people just trying to survive and the mind breaking struggles people would have to go through to stay breathing, since I think the whole "horror" atmosphere couldn't really stay too long without it feeling kind of forced. Just the opinion of a newcomer though lol
@@yume5338 I get you. We just all wanna go back to the time of when things were unknown and there was still a slight horror in it. Now it’s more of the struggles which is really good but sometimes it just gets too repetitive as soon you will see. Loved how on the early seasons, there was usually a messed up scene before the intro and you'd hear how this theme would slowly begin. It was so intense.

One (1) for me. These kind of settings always get old pretty fast in my opinion, but the "zero hour" scenarios are super intense when no one knows what's going on yet and characters can still realisticly exist that aren't fit for survival at all and the groups have to make tough decisions. Great dramatic potential.
You couldn't stop the death star from blowing up could you and now I find you looking at tv show themes for some reason what is wrong with you Vader???
