Dude, and I mean this in the best way possible, 5 hour long interesting Pokémon videos are exactly what I need to fall asleep too. Thank you so much and keep it up please these are amazing
Im listening to this at work, and im LOVING this! I LOVE learning about biology, ESPECIALLY speculative biology,, so your channel is an absolute treasure trove for me! Thank you!!!
49:50 there is that bit from Jeff Foxworthy, "If you ever lost a loved one to kudzu, you might be a redneck" being from the south it does become problematic
I mean this in the kindest way but wait to remake your food chain video, youve gotten more knowledgable but you should give it a few years atleast, your style of content will still evolve a bit and you have a ton of other ideas you want to make videos for. Wait till your struggling to find ideas
37:06 A Khangaskhan or Chansey carrying an Exeggcute on the pouch, or a Moushold with an edopted Exeggcute, becoming a Normal Grass type Then if it's the other way around, a bunch of Exeggcute with one random small Pokémon adopted in and linked with their hive mind it could have a variation of types, with a Spheal it becomes Grass Ice, with a Jigglypuff it becomes Grass Fairy. Not sure what would happen when they evolve, maybe the Exeggcute evolve into an Exeggutor and the other Pokémon is removed from their hive mind, with Exeggcute only carrying over the unusual movepool it might have gotten. Evolving into a fused thing would be weird but could be cool too.
Me watching several video's while the Bible video is glaring at me from behind feels the same as the stack of 'currently reading' books & manga on my nightstand
So glad this was posted when I had time to watch!! I was really hoping for this video and I loved every bit of it!! I do remember one thing- you said like Buhbbysaur or something? Could that possibly be from the Lil Char and Gaang webcomic???
Fun fact, the major issue with Kudzu was actually WW2! The US govt imported it from Japan to grow on farms because it’ll grow with basically no nutrition, and then can be used as fertilizer for crops. It was fine for around a decade, and then the US joined WW2 and drafted most of the farmers so they weren’t on the farm to cut back the kudzu and make their fertilizer so it took over the farms and grew out of control. Also it grows so fast you can hear it cracking
Me hearing you praise the beloved Grass starter and her line: Finally, someone else understands! And while she was not my first starter, she was my designed Pokémon back in the PMD games. (Things did not go well there because Fire Bird and Ice Bird was bad…)
Finally finishe watching! Great job as always Prof. I had some video ideas while listening to some descriptions of pokémon that you may or may not be interested in. Some ideas are definitely stronger than others, but you might find some interest in them Still! Don't mind The misspelling of pokémon names... It's not worth it to go through each one and make sure they're spelled properly.. So sorry in advance All domesticated pokemon (bar dogs) gogoat, tropious, etc (as opposed to more wild pokemon like salemance and tyranitar) Pokémon that should have alternate forms naturally: troupios, magicarp (jump), etc Pomkemon that used to be people: phantump, kadabra, yamask, etc Mimic pokemon: voltorb, cacnea, srunfisk, etc Edible pokemon: steene, fidough, etc Op pokemon (bar legends) tyrannatar, Gyarados, delmise, morlull, etc Pokémon directly influenced by people: muck, voltorb Pokémon that influenced humans: ( bad example) flapple and Newton discovery of gravity Pokémon byproducts used by humans: gossifler and whimsicott Cotton used by luxury brands, steenee perfume I know some of these overlap with each other and with ones you've already done slightly. But might make interesting videos individually as well, who knows! Can't wait for the next one 🎉
The bounsweet is obviously based on mangosteen and one of the nickname of mangosteen is the queen of fruit it explains the Pokémon line being 100% female. And there is a king of fruit named the durian grows in similar environment to mangosteen and commonly eaten together. And had a fakemon Idea for a male counterpart to bounsweet to be a durian to bounsweet mangosteen. It's has rough skin as a ability and looks at the durian skin it would be painful to touch. And it's stats is a physical tank and can hit hard.
Hi Krillik, I'm also a pokedude with history in natural sciences. Been mon-ning since yellow and starting with Shield I elected I would be moving forward through my pokemon journey as a Grass Leader. Just a little background to say I'm only now starting the video and you can expect a good deal of comments moving forward imma be engaging with this video as much as I can over these next few days. 🫡So stoked
I’ll be more than happy to read them! I take constructive criticism to heart so I can learn as well! I know some things like my food chain have some errors so the ecology series is where I remedy those before I remake that video!
@KrillikVA u clearly put in the work. I'm here more to discuss whatever wild tangents fall into my mind. Like both Oddish and Bulbasaur lines have aspects of the rafflesia. I wonder how related the two species would be. The saurian/frog form may have developed from a squishy ancestor of both with the more humanoid shape being better adapted to hiding underground for whatever reason. Alternatively did a more toad like species get real close to an ancestor of oddish and the two became one over time with the frog proving so much safer than the dirt while granting the toad photosynthetic capacity. Or convergence where a big stinky flower just works for both. That's the kinda stuff imma be throwing atcha.

Great work as always, you deserve a lot more attention.

Yes exactly, in addition to that your work on these videos and especially the ecosystem ones will help you build the food chain naturally-

I know it would be a huge project but it would amazing if you made an ecology of new Pokemon snap

As someone who was diagnosed at 5 with ADHD, I have no interest in drinking Mountain Dew. I prefer to drink Dr Pepper and Bang instead.
I think this guy was a scribe? I only realized after I met him tho. It’s probably a different guy but they sounded so similar.
