About the PlasticFantastic Documentary:
Anamika, an entrepreneur & Salsa dancer wants to have the perfect breasts she desires, for which she opts for breast implants. While Vishaka Prajapati, who recently underwent gender reassignment surgery, seeks to establish her new gender identity by adding more feminine features. This documentary film also features an actor & singer, Karan Oberoi who desires to look younger as he wants to prolong his innings as an actor, undertaking regular, guilt free, botox shots. Aamir Tameem, a Digital Content Head, wants his skin to be 'whiter', making him undertake skin lightning procedures. And helping them is Dr Umaira Shaikh, an Aesthetic Physician who wants to make everyone look perfect and Dr Parag Telang, a Plastic Surgeon who exhibits how even scary medical procedures are safe.
The documentary throws light on the growing phenomena of cosmetic procedures like facelifts, Botox, Breast augmentation, Facial Reconstruction surgery, skin whitening and more.
As doctors sculpt and patients go under the knife, physical changes reveal deeper truths about beauty, acceptance and the risky pursuit of chasing perfection. This tell-all DocuBay Original pulls back the curtain on the booming industry valued at more than $50 Billion worldwide, promising people the perfect look - examining the profound reasons and consequences underneath society’s fixation with beauty, by various experts including doctors, psychologist, image consultant & photographer. While the stories are based out of Mumbai, the financial capital of India, the film also travels to Varanasi, one of India's tier 2 cities while exploring the topic.
