  • No, we're not moving, and no we are not looking to move, we adore Sugarwood, but I thought I would share a house that Ben and I looked at during an open house tour. I will explain why in the video.

Hi Linda, what a sweet surprise when you mentioned my channel, thank you! 🥰 We are definitely kindred spirits. Looking at homes is so much fun and it is equally fun to dream about them. What a wonderful home, so much charm. I can’t believe how many rooms it has. I can see why you were intrigued. Thx for taking us on the tour, I love homes with history.

I totally get it! Sugar wood has never really seemed like you as much as the Groton house was. I think this yard is stunning, it looks like a really solid built home with so many options. Whatever you decide I love your channel I hope you find that right and perfect home that meets all of your needs and pleases you in every way!🤗

Omg I totally agree! Just my opinion, but I adored the Groton house and never understood why Sugarwood was preferable…except for the land aspect. I was absolutely in love with what Linda created in her prior home esp kitchen and dining room.

Maybe because I am not as young as I once was but that house looks like years of work and not enjoying life or the house. We love having projects around our 87 year old home but life is short and uncertain so there comes a time when enough is enough and it is time to enjoy our 5 children and 11 grandchildren. I know everyone is different and to each their own. Can't wait to see the reveal of your kitchen and tavern room.

Love looking at historic homes! thanks, that was fun!! Side note, we lived in our 2nd house for a year, had it half gutted for remodel, when hubby's stepmother had us look at one of her old homes that went up for sale. It had everything we'd been looking for, larger in size, French doors, Pocket doors, fireplace, etc.... we ended up buying it, giving my poor hubby 2 homes to work on for a while. We've learned never say never! Good luck!!

What a beautiful house! I personally think with that amount of accommodation it is more suitable for a family with three or four children to make it a home. I would take Sugarwood in a heartbeat, with your own dog walking woods, perfect. You could always build a timber 2 or 3 bedroom home for visiting family. With that amount of additional land, it wouldn’t be a problem. Enjoyed the tour, many thanks.

Wow, this house is amazing!! I can't believe all the bedrooms and the bathrooms with the claw foot tubs I love. The black toile wallpaper in the bathroom was beautiful. Yes, the kitchen was amazing, and I love the black granite countertops. I would rather have a nice creamy white for the cabinets, like your home will have soon. Did you both notice the second kitchen has yellow 💛 walls? Lol
My husband would love the garage/man cave also. Now the cabin needs some serious love. Yes, you are the best person to renovate it.

I love Sugarwood. As far as old homes go, this one doesn’t look as old as Sugar. I love the yard and gardens of Sugar. I don’t know how many times you move-can’t understand why anyone wants to keep moving so much. A beautiful home that I’ve (and you’ve) put so much time and work into is so satisfying and proud can be kept to revel in! As far as huge & old homes go, do you do your own regular housecleaning or have help? I do my own, have a “regular size” house and it wears me out! Little time to enjoy other activities of life. Kudos to you for having energy to deal with renovations & housekeeping-must eat up all of your time unless your job is flipping houses. Hang in there!

Chances of anyone moving at the same time as Liz is pretty high since she moves a lot. I say that with total affection for Liz. As she said her and her husband move a lot for investment reasons too and that is smart. I have a brother-in-law who has done that for as long as I have known him. As always though I will forever be a fan of your kitchen in the last house. I just can't shake it but am looking forward to this kitchen as well. :)

We are so looking forward to seeing Sugarwood complete and showing others that she too is a magical property. Remember Groton House kitchen was designed by me and was three small rooms before I got my hands on it.

I could care less how many houses you look at, buy or just contemplate because I only ask to be enlightened and entertained when I visit. You and Hunny know what you want, need and desire so look all you want and I’ll come along for the ride!!!:):):)

Linda, you are my kindred spirit! I love looking at homes and even though the likelihood of moving is nil. I guess Sugarwood has to grow on me to, perhaps when all of your construction is done and we can see the beautiful outcome. This property is amazing and seems like it’s more up your alley than Sugarwood. Groton house has to be my all time favorite though. I hope you indeed find that unicorn home, I’m sure it’s out there waiting for you and Ben to uncover it❤

I can't wait until everyone sees my vision once Sugarwood is done. For a year we have been working on things nobody can see that had to be done. Now I get to have fun! As for Groton house we did love that home, but remember, it was a run down two family when we bought it, with small rooms. Our family thought we were crazy. We remodeled her too.

Finally made it to your booth at Twin Elm Farms. No need to have a sign there - it was quite obviously your booth. It was beautifully curated and designed and it even smelled wonderful! I purchased a few items and will be back. Just wished I had been able to get there during the Christmas season.
