Thank you so much. I recently purchased this same machine and love it. I was stuck with certain issues due to the lack of knowledge how to use this machine properly and your channel is huge help. Appreciate it!
Thank you so much for this! I just found a machine almost identical to this one at Goodwill yesterday so this was exactly what I needed! I may have to replace the rubber piece though because it will spin when I turn it manually and the wheel will turn with it, but not when I push the pedal down, so going to start with that! Thank you again!
Hi, thanks for the tutorial on this. I have an identical one but is a model 651. I notice that you have the bobbin spindle missing which goes in that hole between the 'Darn Silk Norm' knob and the wheel to the right of it. Mine has the spindle with a circular piece of felt on it. No flying cotton reels from there! Thanks for the other tutorial on how to thread it too!
Hi Ronnie. Sadly this is not really a problem I can diagnose online but here are a few things to consider. A) is the bobbin inserted the correct way round as per your instruction manual. This is usually with the thread unreeling in a clockwise direction when facing you. B) have any of the tension dials been moved accidentally? C) change your needle to a new one in case it is bent. D) rethread the entire machine too and bobbin in case it’s not correct or in the tension disks correctly. E) your timing may be out and unless you are familiar with this adjustment you would need to have it serviced. Good luck and I hope you come right. 😊
Hi, thanks for that very useful tutorial. I love my vintage machine but I could really use a zipper and straight stitch foot. I am struggling to find these online. Any ideas?
I have this same machine but the small wheel that spins the bobbin is very stiff and won’t turn when you push down on the foot. Do you have any suggestions to fix this?
Hello, often this is because the rubber o'ring that is on the base of the bobbin spindle (inside the machine) has hardened or broken from age. This rubber ring connects with the hand wheel and creates the spin to wind a bobbin. It is easy to check this by removing the top. Good luck. x
Any good quality needles like Schmetz and their website will tell you which needle to use for various fabrics. Or start with the universal needles. Good luck. 😊🧵🪡
Hi I have this model could you show me the cable diagram can't find online and it shorted when I moved the machine just fixed its clutch lol and I can't work it out
I'm so sorry but I don't have the machine anymore. Perhaps try and find one on ebay and contact the seller to see if they can take a picture for you. Good luck.
ruclips.net/video/Wyc3ZM7-p88/видео.htmlsi=n-YYixcOc97xf8d3. Hi and what a lovely gift. This video should be really helpful to get you going as the age of the machines is similar and the way they work as well. Good luck 🙂
Hello Maryam, I really don’t know that model machine but I’ve looked up mason fa630 in America. If it’s the same then it is an old metal bodied machine and if it has been kept in good working order then depending on the price, it’s definitely worth buying because with a little bit of work it’ll sew beautifully again. The main thing to check for is that there is no rust as this will indicate that it’s been left in the garage and got moisture in it and these are difficult things to repair. Sorry I can’t help more. Kind regards Michele
I’m sorry I can’t measure it for you because I no longer have this machine. If you have the bobbin case take it to a Brother store and they will be able to measure an sell you the correct size. Good luck.

Hi. I hope you’ve managed to get this working. If not then another option is to buy a separate bobbin winder. Good luck.
Thank you, you are a good teacher.

Look online for low shank brother presser feet but check the pictures very carefully to make sure they fit before you buy them. Good luck x

Are bobin holders a standard size?.
Hello, I think you will find many that are the same, but different makes of machine are going to be different and also work differently.
Can you please tell me if brother sewing machine model FA 630 is worth buying?

What bobbin to use?

Hi I have a Brother 661 machine just like yours and I was wondering if yours smells of fish?
Mmm…this one didn’t, but that may indicate a fault with the motor or capacitors.
That's getting a bit personal mate!😆
