I like how they kept the beginning part, where the guy corrected Gordon. It shows that Gordon accepts his own mistakes. Some would have cut something like that out. Makes the Video in my Opinion so much better!
Yeah, I think the dispute here is like the cheese is basically a ‘cheddar’ but I guess since it’s America the guy doesn’t want England to claim his local American cheese lol so calls it a ‘Farmstead’. And that’s fair, and I’m English lol. Maybe there’s a slight difference in the production process, but not sure. But Gordon is respectful which is awesome
I've always heard that the reason people expect Gordon Ramsay to be a crazy rude person can be chalked up to American television. We ate that 'anger' up, and the suits saw it. Chef Ramsay is a gem, and why I love this channel.

@@nicholash.7656 Yes, you nailed it. American TV played up the worst traits of Ramsay's personality tenfold. He is genuinely a great traveler. Gracious, friendly, open minded and appreciative of the local specialties and people where ever he goes.
All that being said I would pay to see him brow-beat, cuss-out and verbally abuse some anti-masks-at-school, anti-vaxxers, while he travels in America!

Im so glad we learned ramsey was not exclusively a hardass. Guy cuts in with a small correction that some people could see as rude but nah. Ramsey is just like “No absolutely that is important to correct, its a fantastic cheese”

Yeah I feel like Gordon's whole angry man shtick is mainly just for show. If you've seen him interact with people outside of the TV shows he's a really nice dude. Also he's a chef so I'm sure he wants to get the sources right.

Absolutely - he knew that he was wrong, but not in some "bad" way and that the directory was being very specific so he wouldn't be saying something incorrect - not surprised at all how he reacted as he's not a fucking asshole like some believe.
The guys correction wasn't rude.
What makes Gordon one of the best is he is still willing to learn. He understands that he doesn't know everything and when someone knows more about something, he listens like a student.

Thought we were about to see a Hell's Kitchen moment on the correction. But Gordon is an absolute legend and took the correction in stride because he knew how proud the director was of his cheese. Love to see it.

Gordon Ramsey’s cooking show is one of, if not the most, Enjoyable shows you can see.
Glad to see Gordon Ramsay able to visit such a beautiful part of the United States.
Even better that he was able to use some local ingredients to make a delicious omelet.
FYI, it is illegal in the United States to sell any "cheese-like product produced from the milk of an animal" which has not been pasteurized to the FDA's satisfaction, unless it is aged at least 60 days prior to sale. Aging the "dairy-based product" dries it out, killing any bad bacteria that might have snuck into the pot. It also makes it damned near impossible for farmers to sell - or even give away for free - what is commonly known as "farmer's cheese", usually produced from any extra or leftover milk. That's why the farmer corrected Gordon (I THINK he referred to it as, "farmer's spread", and that the subtitles are incorrect). It's also why it is such a local secret: if he sold it outside of his community, the FDA would probably want to know exactly how it is produced. Skip the pasteurization process, because it destroys most of the natural flavor? Nope, you can't do that. Big Brother knows what's best, and now you're in BIG trouble. To be absolutely clear, I find this kind of regulatory "protection" absolutely repulsive. I'm only trying to explain it, not defend it.

I live in the foothills of the Smokies. My great grandfather ran moonshine stills all over the place up here, and yes, you can find crawdads in the rivers, and yes there are a lot of dairy cows.
But if you’re actually making Smoky Mountain food, you’d be cooking beans and cornbread, or maybe biscuits and gravy just like Mamaw use to make.

Yep agreed. The title of the vid needs to be changed. I'm from Oz, and crayfish are similar to lobster, depending on what side of the country you're from. I'm not as familiar with crawfish, so if someone can advise what the difference is between them and the others I'd be appreciative. Thanks all.
