    DIY Clay Tutorial: • ADC 101 - EP1: DIY AIR...
    The rest of episode 2 is still on hold. I will not be working on it anytime soon. Sorry 🙏
    Next video will be another softening ADC but we will be focusing on softening hardened/cured clays for those of you who wants to reuse leftover clays from your previous projects and create new sculptures out of them!
    TAKE NOTE: This process may only work in certain types of air dry clay.
    This can also be a solution to some overcooked clay cases!

    Can you make video how to fix overcooked clay 😂 i tried to mix half measurement but no idea how undercooked look like. Hellpppp

    • @zainclayarts
      @zainclayarts  Год назад +1

      will consider this but at the moment, i can't work on it. in most cases, what i showed in this video is just what i do for overcooked clay. if the clay is too hard, i have another video "soften hardened/cute clay" with a different method than this but the idea is basically the same. undercooked clay is very soft and melty, the clay doesn't hold details properly

    Can you suggest something to fix the clay if it is too runny and liquidy that it can't be handled

    • @zainclayarts
      @zainclayarts  3 месяца назад

      just let it dry for a bit and knead it. you can add a bit of cornstarch but dont add too much since that can also ruin the consistency

    My creation dries with a pit(hole like) at the back .. does that happen with you too??

    • @zainclayarts
      @zainclayarts  Год назад +1

      probably because of air bubbles stuck in the clay. press the clay hard as you sculpt to get rid of those

    Does your cold porcerlain creation crack after they dry? Because mine does :

    • @zainclayarts
      @zainclayarts  Год назад +1

      no it doesn't. clay cracking can be caused by various factors like clay condition or how it cured. if you're using diy clay, the ratio of ingredients used may affect that too.

  • @prabhasarathchandra350

    Isn't it get cracks when drying?

    • @zainclayarts
      @zainclayarts  8 месяцев назад

      cracking can be caused by several factors. i'll be making a video about it but it will take me a while. you can check my how to properly cure air dry clay for a start

    As someone who is new to this, why bother with the container at all? Why not just add water and knead it in?

    • @zainclayarts
      @zainclayarts  Год назад +1

      you can do that but since the clay won't have enough time to absorb the water, the clay will dry pretty quick after

    • @justinisenberg1841
      @justinisenberg1841 Год назад

      @@zainclayarts So, I did the same thing here in this video once and it helped. Next time I added PVA glue to the water and shook it up good to mix it. This gives the clay a much stronger, rubbery consistency and helps to adhere to itself.
      Thanks!

    • @justinisenberg1841
      @justinisenberg1841 11 месяцев назад +1

      @@wasabiy817 Yeah, unfortunately it does do that and it seems to make it more resistant to water if you use a spritzer bottle. I don't use it any more.
