Just to clarify, this video is 99.9%, an original story
As far as I know, none of this narrative is on the wiki
Not that there is anything wrong with this
Just that some assumptions you can get that are not exactly canon: "682 was been outside for so long that there were cave paintings about it", "they didn't know 682 was intelligent but somehow knew to use acid to contain it", "they captured 682 with a box and a rope"
They could be true
They could be false
They are just not on the wiki
The whole video is an original story
Damn, I've been bamboozled which is so sad since I really like Dr Bob's style more than any other channel I've seen so far...

You just have to know that is a story
That's where the concept of tales comes into play
The problem with content farms is that they don't tell you what is from the article, what are tales and what is original for the video
I think the main problem with scp and canonicity is that, as it is a community project we need some sort of order so that it doesn't devolve into complete chaos
The way the community decided is that every bit of lore is filtered through the wiki, good writing is upvoted and bad writing is downvoted or edited
SCP numbered articles have a big "canon weight"
SCP tales have a lower "canon weight"
Anything outside the wiki is non-canon
But again, there are plenty of really well-told stories outside the wiki that although non-canon are well-liked because they have good presentation
Just be aware of canonicity and enjoy them by what they are
How can you know what they are?
If the medium doesn't tell you, then who recommended should say to you
But the best way to know what is not canon is to know what is
That's why we recommend channels that stick to the main source so that you know how to enjoy other mediums
The Volgun pretty much reads the article so it is as close to the source as you can get outside of the wiki
He also does voice acting, sound design, sometimes a video edit, or other
The Exploring Series does summaries.
When an SCP is complex, he summarizes the main part of the story.
When he covers a broader concept he pulls from multiple articles to explain.
His format is much simpler with static images and narration so his format may not be everyone's cup of tea (He is my personal favorite though)
MR.ILLUSTRATED has a similar format to The Vulgun with reading and some voice acting.
I believe The Volgun does a better job with the voice acting, however MR. ILLUSTRATED also draws images to illustrate what is happening as he reads the article (not drawing as he reads but the drawings show up and change as he reads).
Also he covers tales and I think The Volgun rarely do tales so that's that

@@cyberfalcon2872 No worries about the length, also I see what you mean, it is true that it is frustrating when it is not mentioned that it is a tale instead of the actual lore, I really thought because of the title and presentation that it was the main story of the SCPs, and I might be a bit of a zoomer or something but I really enjoy seeing the animation and Dr Bob's character on top of the lore more than just text and hearing it read, but I guess after I am done uploading all the Dr Bob videos I already recorded (quite a few actually...), I will start reacting more to the other 3 big mentioned channels cause I do want the official lore too, and see some Dr Bob stuff and what-not on the side sometimes maybe, I'll see how things go with the other channels
682 would have definitely killed both the boy and the bear

The wall painting scenario would only make sense if someone else was seeing the scene from a distance and draw later

Oh, I guess it makes sense, since even in the video that whole part of the story is just an interpretation based on the drawing and some other things

I said scary because you said you liked scary, but SCP is much more "creative interesting concepts" than "scary stories"
If you are interested in more creative, mind bogling, or interesting in general, I have much more of those
@@cyberfalcon2872 The Builder Bear one from MR. ILLUSTRATED is already on my channel, but the rest I have not seen yet, I did play a game about SCP-001 When Day Breaks tho, I think? It was called SCP-001 Daybreak, on Itch io, not the Steam one that seems more popular, the video is not on the channel yet tho, but the game only left me more confused so I will watch the lore video too
Also yes keep up the Dr Bob and scp Illustrated videos love them keep up the great videos

Hm....it seems to be one of BS S.C.P. channels. Ones, that make random stories, that has nothing to do with actual lore.
I tried to tell him. Animated channels do random stuff, get lore wrong, doesnt look good, and attracts kids top the site. Even the scp authors themselves hate the animated channels.
@@theconductor2969 S.C.P. explained seems to be fine. Info is right, though it doesn`t give you scientific report vide and doesn`t convey a creepy atmosphere.
Damn it, I had no idea, I genuinely really love Dr Bob too on top of that... the animation is more enjoyable than SCP Explained, I love that he has his own persona which is quite cool, his voice is really amazing for this type of content to me, the presentation style, I did not have as much fun reacting to something as with Dr Bob in a while, so it is kinda sad that some or all videos are not the actual Wiki lore...
