My guess is that a lot of the negative symptoms in the document are lies to stop people from purposefully contacting the virus, and the document on how it affects the brain would prove that it actually had little to no side effects. After all, the Church purposefully gives it to their higher members, if it really gave you dementia (which, note, is caused by failure of the brain) it would've caused the Church to collapse.

Yup, a nice little touch, although i don't think this is the first time they've used the Umbrella logo for "generic evil scientist group", i feel like i've seen it be used in another video.
Blood letting was based on "humor theory" and trying to balance the "humors" blood, phlegm, saliva, and urine were thought of as humors needing balanced. So if goute leaking one more than usual them you would want to try to leak others.

I never thought of it that way. It's not even killing you. It just robs you from everything what makes you a human. Your consciousness and your body. Leaving you as just a... soulless machine. Well, the advanced stages are said to be severely painful and it diminishes your mental state, so it's not exactly a good thing. Plus it has a 100% infection rate, can go undetected for long periods of time, and is currently incurable.
It reminds me of the ship of Theseus. A person has his body gradually replaced with mechanical parts, when his entire body is mechanized, will he the same person as before or a complete new being ?

Out of most of the diseases in the SCP universe that I have to be infected by, I'd choose this. It's bad due to you becoming a biomechanical drone, but at least it's not deadly and gross like the flesh that hates.

They help to remove the stagnant blood from the reattached limb while blood from the rest of the body pumps fresh blood back in. From what ive heard it significantly improves the chances of the limb recovering.
I want some reversal of this to be an SCP where machines are converted into biological matter. Imagine if a car or computer started turning into flesh and blood?
