  • In this quick video we take a look at an other awesome axe from Hultafors of Sweden. The axe is the 20" Classic hunting axe, which I find perfect for camp work as it is a good quality lightweight axe that is easily carried in a pack. Thanks for watching........

Hello Mark I have the very same Axe, and i love it, just a little snippet of info for you, (hope you dont mind) you will notice the rear of the axe (poll) is rounded more than usual, this is to help in removing skins / hides without damaging it. When the animal is hung you use the weight of the axe to separate the skin from the meat, the roundness of the poll wont tear or cut through the skin. hence why this is called a hunters classic axe. :-) Had to chuckle when you just had to keep going and cut though the pine, got to be done LOL great vid and thanks, regards Matt.

Hi Matt, I hope you are keeping well mate. Thanks as always for watching and taking the time to comment. It is defiantly one of the best axes on the market for the money :) I was looking as a Gransfors hunting axe prior t buying this. But I have had Hultafors for a number of years and they have always served me well. Your right about the poll mate. I was reading up about the axe before I purchased it. It seems a little flatter than the Gransfors, so this suits my need more. Have a great weekend, all the best, Mark. :)

I have one of these and it is a really good axe. Everyone raves about the Gransfors SFA, which I also have, but I think this has a bit more punch with the heavier 0.85kg to 0.7kg head. My handle is also a bit meatier than on the Gransfors, which is good, because my hands are large. Good video.

"Once I got started, I just wanted to go through" - like, would he have wanted to if it were any other brand? If he were using a Husqvarna, would he have just been like "that's enough of that" after a few swings?

Everytime you hit the ground you blunt it at best ,smashing the shaft on wood will eventually brake the shaft . In the trade you'd use a bench tree . Aye that axe is way to short to build anything very fast . Longer shaft =half the work . Apart from the fails, informative video
