I had the privilege of hosting John Sanders and the choir many years ago at my church in Alexandria, VA USA. He gave me a manuscript copy of his "Reproaches" which I subsuquently performed with my choir.
How fascinating to hear these sounds from the past. My father was a good friend of John Sanders, and I was also very familiar with Gloucester Cathedral as a child. My choir, from Saint John the Baptist in Cirencester, used to sing at Gloucester Cathedral regularly, so it's nice to hear and remember that acoustic. It was a great place in which to sing - very supportive, but with not too much echo. Thanks for posting this!
Dear soul, thank you so very much for creating this wondrous historical portal. Music so sublime should never be lost !

Thanks. Very enjoyable. Is John Sanders organist here as well as choir director?
His is the only name mentioned on the LP cover.
Superb, spirited singing and organ playing. I don't think of them among the great choirs but here they are great!
