    got to test drive a taycan4s during a porsche event in Edmonton, i don't see why anyone would even need to go for the turbo s. Also such an amazing car. Feels incredible to drive and just be inside of and on the road. Great sence of stability and control. Every light and stop that you come to where you are the first one at the line, is just that much more exciting in this car.

    Totally agree that the panoramic roof is a must-have if you planned to have passengers in the back seat. Keeps them from getting carsick. I really like the two plus one split in the back which gives you a 40-20-40 split as well so that rear passenger is can get at the trunk items without folding down an entire seat. Also I brought home an 8-ft 4x4 in my 4S. 😉 But that's another story.
    At 6:36 you say Adaptive Sport Seats 14 way. The premium package actually has the Comfort seats which are 14 way, the Adaptive sports seats are 18 way and are a premium above that.
    I don't think the PSCB are necessary, I did get the 20-in which are not as efficient as the 19-in but the looks are much better. I got the red leather interior with the Porsche Crest on the headrest, as you say it is tradition. I had a deposit in Oct 2019, received in Nov 2021. Also I highly recommend a Porsche Experience Center delivery if that can work for you. It was awesome 👍

      If you get panoramic roof, you will be missing cross bar on the roof which affects the torsional rigidity...

    Mark, which option will hold more value over time in resale, a Premium Package or a Sports Design package? Both run $6-7k each and as I'm buying a 2021 Taycan i have similar cars at similar prices but each with a different option as I indicated...

    • @WestCoastSupercarsandClassics

      Hmm, that's a good question. The Premium package is the one I have, I'm not sure what the 2021 included but it should have the 14-way seats with memory and ventilation, folding mirrors, Bose sound system, premium ambient lighting (personally I like that feature, you can select all kinds of colours and adjust the zone brightness)
      I've forgotten what else is included, perhaps Lane Change Assist?
      So I consider it to be a Must-Have. The exterior already looks great, I don't actually like the front end Sport Design look, but that's personal.
      The interior features are, IMO, more valuable than the exterior features except for wheel size and design, which are also equally important.
      We have the 21" Exclusive Design Aeroblades, which look fantastic and less 'me too' than the Mission E style, IMO. But I wouldn't bother with 21" unless they're already on the car, just the 20" are fine. You'll get a better ride quality even though you give up a little in grip.

    According to Porsche for the Taycan 4S you get the same 0-100 km/hr (4.0 sec) regardless of which battery pack you get, the bigger one gives longer range though.

    • @WestCoastSupercarsandClassics
      @WestCoastSupercarsandClassics  3 года назад

      That's actually not correct. Porsche specifies 4s for the base 4S, and 3.8s for the Performance Battery Plus.
      For the base RWD Taycan 4, the acceleration is the same regardless of battery.
      Car and Driver got 3.4s 0-60 and 11.7s in the 1/4 mile with the 4S (Feb 2021)
      The peak power difference is 522 vs 562 with launch control.

As I've already put in my order for the Taycan, I've seen about a dozen great overviews by now, with far more interesting Taycans than the one you are featuring here.

    Same 0-100 km/hr time (4.0 sec) for the Taycan 4S regardless of battery pack according to Porsche as seen in this video. Duplicate post as I can't respond to my original post for some reason. ruclips.net/video/2l3JhKhN3oE/видео.html&ab_channel=Autogef%C3%BChl

      I checked with Porsche for specs. This dude is wrong.
      Check with your Porsche Centre if you want, they'll tell you the same thing.
      You get more power, and faster acceleration, with the 4S Performance Battery..... 522hp vs 562hp.
      All I can do is give you the facts. :)

      'The bigger provides 53 HP and 40 lb/ft more than the smaller, base 79-kwh , as well as more range' Road and Track Mag. 2021
      more hp and torque = faster. :)

    • @Greg29
      @Greg29 3 года назад

      @@WestCoastSupercarsandClassics You keep forgetting that the 93 kwh battery pack is heavier, hence the same or similar 0-100 km/hr times despite the greater hp. Even if the bigger battery pack *is* faster it is almost negligible, the main difference is range not speed.

    • @WestCoastSupercarsandClassics
      @WestCoastSupercarsandClassics  3 года назад

      @@Greg29 I've forgotten nothing. You're speaking from hypotheticals, not actual independent road tests. That's a mistake.
      There is less than 80kg difference between the two models, which is roughly the weight of one passenger.
      You're arguing that 80kg offsets 40hp.
      It's very hard to find tests of the 79kwh model, as everybody wants to test the 93kwh model.
      However, if you take the published power to weight ratios, you'll see why the 93 is faster:
      About 9lbs/hp for the 79kwh vs 8.7 for the 93kwh. Advantage to the bigger battery car.
      Hence, it's faster.
      Also, looking at some other math, to offset 100lbs should require less than 10hp.
      Given that all these cars are quite heavy, the slight difference in weight isn't as important as you think.

    • @Greg29
      @Greg29 3 года назад

      @@WestCoastSupercarsandClassics You yourself said the difference in the 0-100 km/hr times was only 0.2 seconds (4.0 and 3.8), that is negligible and not noticeable to anyone. You pay extra for the 93 kwh battery pack for the range extension not to noticeably make the car faster. Also, I'm not including launch control which you keep mentioning.

      You could do a better research before embarrassing yourself.
      Porsche Taycan is the first EV to be equipped with multi gear transmission. That s a big deal if you have some clue about EV development.
      Even Tesla in 10 years existence couldn t make it work.
      Porsche Taycan is also the first EV to be equipped with 800 volt architecture.
      Again do some research before embarrassing yourself.
