Some of the products I have used in the past had Sodium Laurel Sulfate which can be a skin irritant. SLS can be in cleansers, shampoo's and some cosmetics including mascara 😏 Some essential oils can irritate sensitive skin also. Before you got me to try tretinoin my skin used to get so irritated and I noticed the blood vessels on my face were so prominent but after more than a year on tretinoin my skin doesn’t get irritated and the blood vessels are almost unnoticeable.

    • @KittenBowl1
      @KittenBowl1 8 месяцев назад

      Tretinoin is not only reserved for skin. I think she mentions it like it’s reserved for dermatology only but it’s usually prescribed for inflammation of throat or nose due to cold or viral infection to take as an oral medication. Just that it happens to work on skin also. It’s used mainly to take as oral medication for removing certain age spots and brown spots caused by inflammatory response and with laser treatment not to get inflammatory response from it. She should make it clear that it’s not really for beauty purpose. It’s mainly to calm down the inflammation therefore if the age brown spots that are caused by inflammation can be relieved. But not all spots are caused by inflammation (like freckles and regular sun spots are not). Weak OTC cream is just cosmetic but Tretinoin is prescribed usually as anti-inflammatory medication by MD (and not necessarily by a dermatologist).

    • @Hemmyii
      @Hemmyii 8 месяцев назад +2

      Sunscreen and adapalene/tretinoin have really slowed the formation of them for me too. I get laser treatment every year because I form them so quickly but this year it’s almost time and I have very few that are bothering me. My derm who does the laser treatments warned me tret can make you form them faster but that’s definitely not been the case for me.

    I just noticed some on my cheeks lately and I’m thinking it’s from using Medicube’s Ussera Deep Shot device. It heats the skin with high frequency/ultra sound. Or maybe from their EMS device or the Glow Booster-H which creates pathways so skincare can penetrate better.

    What type of laser treatment is used to get rid of the persistent redness and evening out the skin surface/texture of a scald injury on the hand and forearm? I really want to start a conversation with my derm but also i want your opinion about that specific type of laser treatment (just the name type of laser). But aside from that I don't know why people smoke when they already know that's harmful for their overall health 😢. Thanks for informing us it means a lot 😊❤.

    Hi dr gray, I have a really urgent question regarding popping pimples. I know its a no go, but in my personal experience, if i dont stick a small needle in them and then sqeeze them, the pimples gets bigger and then dissapear but causes an indent in my skin as well which looks like a scar. I feel like, either way i will lose and end up with a scar. Do you have advise?
