Theres some accuracies obviously but also some inaccuracies. But all in all it shouldn't really matter if some parts are wrong because the important thing is the entertainment value and it certainly is very entertaining.
You should react to season 3, episode 24. It’s the episode where they take their first-year medical exams and getting your take on how different or similar it was to your own experience would be fun!
yes, or the season 8 episodes (right before these plane crash episodes) where they go to san francisco to take their board exams (i think that’s what it’s called) to become attendings!
Please please please do season 12 episode 13, they move a man's leg to the centre of his body so he's almost like a merman. It's one of the coolest (and unrealistic ) episodes !!
@Doctor Dan Of course please please please tell us where they could have *possibly* put the leg. Because my only guess for how it could have even remotely worked is if the guy didn’t have any genitalia of any sort (i.e. no way to go to the bathroom. At all). And that isn’t possible, is it?
@@DoctorDan im on season 12 right now........this not the worst.....i highly suggest episode 21 of season 11. im still shocked. love your vids even though im new, keep up the great work!
I'm so sorry we make you watch episodes where characters die! But its because usually the best episodes are season finales and those usually have deaths. Dang you greys!!!
I may have missed it, but if you haven't done it yet you should review Season 6 Episode 7. It's about Derek operating on a massive, "inoperable" spinal tumour. Given your specialty, I'd love to hear your thoughts!
Elena Tsvetkova No, the 3D printed parts was Meredith’s case. I’m pretty sure the one Karina mentions was the one he drew the tumor on the wall of the bedroom.
Definitely referring to the tumour on the wall episode. Hence my mention of it being a spinal surgery. Dr Dan is a spine surgeon, so I'd love to get his reaction to that one! The one Meredith printed was in the woman's chest, hence Maggie was involved.
You could literally watch and react to each and every episode and I’d watch. I’ve seen the show all the way through (twice) and the first spin off (Private Practice) twice. I don’t tire of shows I love easily 😂❤️
You should watch the episode where Meredith gets beat up by a patient (can’t remember which one that is, but I’m sure someone else will remember) Edit; s12e9
I know you get a lot of requests, so no worries if you’re too busy, but one really great episode for you to react to is Season 7, episode 15 (Golden Hour)! In this episode, Meredith runs the ER on her own and has to treat a man with chest pains, as well as other interesting patients. Would love to see your thoughts on it!
I've always found it a bit troubling how they talk about cristina's posttraumatic reaction and the treatment(s) she might require. obviously acute care in a psych ward is awful and the medications can have extremely nasty side-effects, but they have also been proven to treat psychosis, so I don't really see why meredith would prefer cristina to keep suffering when there is effective treatment. (that, and it might also deter patients from seeking psychiatric care when they need it.)
@@MadDirectionerGirl yesss exactly! like, I'm literally the last person to advocate for psych wards because I personally find them to be quite difficult places, and I do believe people shouldn't be locked up there for ages, but they really do have a use in the acute phase of mental illness, especially to stabilise a person. after that, there are either nicer treatment facilities, or the person can be treated in outpatient clinics or by a private medical professional. plus it's sort of unrealistic that none of the survivors of the plane crash need psychiatric help at all.
Meredith strikes me as overdramatic a lot. Like, here she was just in a plane crash, so the thinking with her emotions is more understandable, but in this case it doesn’t look like Cristina would have talked just because of Meredith yelling, “YOU GOTTA SNAP OUT OF IT!” There’s also people who do take this show more seriously, and who would think, after watching this episode, that if they got medication that they absolutely need for psychological issues, they’ll never be the same. That strikes me as a little dangerous, especially for the people who have no other way to get treatment and to begin recovery.
Dr. Choi, I think I speak for everyone. The truth is I'm pretty sure we would love for you to review every single episode, minus all the relationships crap. 😁😷 For the record, I know you may not be able to do that. 😜
I kind of want to watch them all as well, minus the relationship crap. (At some point. It's just ridiculous). But I want him to review episode 21 Season 11, and the following episode. I just want to know if 1.) Both those episodes are, erm for lack of a better term realistic. As well as, 2.) if those episodes (especially what happens to Derek), would ever happen or if that's considered medical malpractice. :)
You are just my favorite doctor on RUclips... the way you talk and explain everything is so nice and reassuring. I will soon undergo an orthopedic surgery, my doctor is great, but the first orthopedic I met scared the hell out of me 😅 you’re doing a great job here, and I also believe you are inspiring a lot of future doctors. Obviously a surgeon needs to have excellent technical skills, but the human side is extremely important too... and I think you’re amazing in that. And hey, you are reviewing lots of Grey’s anatomy episodes, my favorite show ever, just awesome!
I really love these videos . It's so interesting to learn what the medical lingo actually means and I like how you point out the innacuracies in the show but you also say how that particular situation would probably really go. Although I do NOT like having to wait for the second part of some reaction videos, I'm glad that you don't try to skip past parts of the episode and you really go into detail!
When you started talking about the bones in the hand and pointed out the phalange, I could hear phoebe's voice from friends... "there's something wrong with the left phalange!!" Well, seeing that x-ray, she's not wrong. Lol. Love your videos!
@@DoctorDan thank you for replying! :) Sadly its not a medical episode, she uses the word "phalange" as a fictional thing sadly. It's the final episode of friends.
The comment about the pain of the fans was so empathic!!! Attachment to fictional characters causes real emotion. You recognising that makes me believe that you’re a really good doctor that easily empathises with others
I really appreciate how much time you spend teaching us about the various procedures and illnesses that they gloss over on the show. I always learn so much from these videos!
I loooove your videos. Thank you for doing this! You explain just enough and not too much or too little. And you also react to the characters themselves and the storylines not just the medicine which makes for a really excellent watch every time. ☺
I just found you channel today. I’m already subscribed and speed running all of your vids. I really like your channel and salute you for being able to juggle all of the things in your life.
after the plane crash so many relationships are impacted in greys, callie and arizona’s becomes a big storyline because of this. and the show just isn’t the same after lexie and marks death😭the next few seasons are crazy!
As someone who is in school for medical coding, I'm loving your channel. Your explanations of what is going on is so helpful. I feel like I can enjoy some entertainment and get some education that is going to help me read medical records more accurately. Thank you!
Can't wait for the next episode! After this series of plane crash reaction(I think you have a couple more videos to upload haha), I need the reaction to an episode where they went to a military hospital and Callie moved one leg to the middle of a veteran's lower body and making him having on leg in the middle(forgot which episode, but it seems pretty ortho!)
Have to say, seeing the pathology behind a lot of this is helpful. I’m ending paramedic school and for some of the trauma stuff this is so much better than mnemonics and straight memorization. It helps!
I'm gonna have to argue against that realism point, because Meradith is talking to Christina as her friend, not as her doctor. That's just how they talk to each other; crude and over the top.

I have just discovered your channel (it came as a recommendation based on one of my favorite medical youtubers). I love react videos and so far am thoroughly enjoying your videos. 😄
Between my tethered spinal cord surgery and my 5 abdominal surgeries, including a hysterectomy, I have so much scar tissue in my pelvis that it always feels tight and sore. Scar tissue can cause so many issues and most Drs don’t acknowledge it. Thank you for talking about it.
I love your reactions they are always so in-depth and informative. A good episode to react to would be season 10 episode 9 when Callie gets into a mal practice suit for a possible orthopaedic mistake
I love watching Doctor react videos and yours are really great ! I’m French and it’s interesting for me to see the big difference between our medical world ! Actually a video about that will be really interesting for me (but maybe not for everyone). Good video !
Just had this video recommended to me by RUclips and I gotta say- the excitement I had when you said you're an Ortho Spine Surgeon was a bit ridiculous 😅 Respect and love to all specialties, but man do I love Ortho
I think you should watch 7x20 because Alex brings a bunch of orphans from Africa and there’s a lot of medical terminology that I would like to hear you explain in the video. And Derek and Meredith meet Zola too.
I took Meredith’s comments to Cristina (never be the same again) as her thing worse case scenario and letting fear speak for her versus factual medical information. Love your channel! Keep reacting to Grey’s. It’s my favorite.
I’ve just discovered your channel, but I want to say that I really like how you break things down. You’re obviously very knowledgeable and a great surgeon. I actually have a condition called Trigeminal Neuralgia, which is pretty rare and I find that many doctors and surgeons don’t know much about it and the pain it causes in the face and the treatment options or lack thereof. But you said something in this video that reminded me of something one of my surgeons said.. That you would never pull out percentages when it comes to nerves and the treatment of them. Well, in August 2019 I had a Microvascular Decompression brain surgery to try to help my Trigeminal Neuralgia - the surgeon said that the compression he found was one that he didn’t feel was enough to be causing my TN and therefore was likely caused by damage or something else to the nerve in my face, so in addition to the decompression, while he was in there he did a Neurolysis to the Trigeminal Nerve root to try to stop the pain signals from reaching my brain (at least that’s how he explained it) and that he would give it a 95% chance if it working to help my pain. It didn’t and it actually got worse after surgery. But when you said that, it just made me think about his numbers and how he seemed to have pulled them out of thin air when speaking to me after surgery. I wish he had been right though..
Just found you today, really enjoyed watching your videos. Love that you explain, and that even though its not completely realistic you seem to enjoy the show. Im now subscribed and cant wait for another video!
I’d love to see you react to Season 11 Episode 21 and Season 6 Episode 23/24. They might not be exactly the most realistic, I’m not sure, but they’re such dramatic episodes and id love to hear your take on them.
I just smashed your subscribe button for deducting a point after Meredith’s slackjaw/cuckoo comment to Yang. Also, as someone who lives with mental illness and experienced hospitalization due to psychosis, I want to include a “thank you” for your further explanation on SYMPTOMS of a CONDITION not being permanent. Thank you 💚💚💚💚💚(green ribbon is mental health. I use the green heart for same symbolism)
I'm rewatching the show for a second time so my mom will watch it with me lol. We're at season 8 and I'm not ready for this episode. :( Love ur channel Doctor Dan!
Thank you for the comments about the anti-psychotics - My father is on them, and for good reason too. Psychosis is not fun. Sometimes medication is needed to function better and that's okay! :)
Dr. Dan, you should definitely react to episodes 21&22 of season 8. Those two are when the doctors take their Boards and you could compare your experiences to theirs.
You should do one about the helicopter that took dr. Romanos arm in ER from the 90s.. yes I'm talking about the one that had Clooney in it lol that episode always tripped me out even re-watching it as an adult
Please react to when izzie cut Denny’s lvad wire to get him on top of the transplant list!! It’s on s2 e26/s2 e 27!! In that episode a doctor is thinking very irrationally because she loves the patient, it’s very interesting!!
Would love to see a reaction to an episode of Royal Pains!! I enjoyed binge watching it a couple years ago, but I’m willing to bet that the medical accuracy is iffy, at best.
New subscriber here! I'm so far removed from being a doctor, but I would love to see you react to more Amelia episodes! She's Derek's sister and she is a kick ass neurosurgeon! Some good episodes for her are 11x14 and 14x04! I hope you end up reacting to those, I love what you've reviewed so far!!!
Thank you, Doctor Dan! It’s always great to watch your videos! I agree with everyone’s comment below lol! The episode where Derek works on the “inoperable spinal tumor” in S6 E7 would be great because you’re an orthopedic surgeon!! Excited for more videos! Enjoy your week! 😃🙏🏾
I would like some variety in your react videos. I have never watched Grey's Anatomy, so I'm not invested in these episodes (though I do still enjoy them!). But I watch quite a few other medical dramas and would be curious about how you'd react to those. I'll try to make a short list of episodes for you to react to and comment with that soon.
When they reduce my fracture I was Wide awake. I remember them climbing on the table to reduce the fracture. They tried to put me to sleep and the meds that they put in weren’t working so they had to bring an anesthesiologist in but everything before that I remember. (I don’t remember the anesthesiologist). Including them reducing the fracture in my arm. I was around eight years old with a severely broken arm so they didn’t think they had to use that many meds but they obviously had to. I didn’t have surgery but I definitely should have because my arm is now not the same.
Just discovered your channel, I love the content. I have an episode to you to react, in really two: S6E23 (Sanctuary) and S6E24 (Death and All His Friends)
Could you react to Season 6, episode 24? A husband who lost his wife in surgery actually starts a shooting in the hospital because he blames the doctors and I feel like it may interest you! I know you just said you dont want to see any other characters die but its just such a classic episode lol
Love these videos idk how I'm going to get sleep 🙈 you should watch the LVAD wire episode it kind of starts from Season 2 episode 25 but mostly ep 26 and kind of continues to 27.
i think he meant that the maximal recovery he could possibly get was 80% of motion as in it would never be the same again, but i agree where do they pull those numbers from?
“I hope you’re not making me watch one where another person dies”

I’d love to see you react to Season 11 Episode 21 and Season 6 Episode 23/24. They might not be exactly the most realistic, I’m not sure, but they’re such dramatic episodes and id love to hear your take on them.
Thanks for the suggestion! 🙏
I just smashed your subscribe button for deducting a point after Meredith’s slackjaw/cuckoo comment to Yang. Also, as someone who lives with mental illness and experienced hospitalization due to psychosis, I want to include a “thank you” for your further explanation on SYMPTOMS of a CONDITION
not being permanent.
Thank you for your support! Save for later for sure. 🙏🙏
OMG! I'll be waiting for the next video. I'm glad I found your channel ❤️ you are a great doctor and teach us a lot, thank you
Yay! Thanks for watching and welcome 🙏
I love this kind of content, thank you Dr. Dan! :)
Thanks for watching and for the kind words! 🙏
Thank you for the comments about the anti-psychotics - My father is on them, and for good reason too. Psychosis is not fun. Sometimes medication is needed to function better and that's okay! :)
Yes absolutely! Thanks for watching 🙏
@@DoctorDan - Thanks for the awesome content! 🙏
Dr. Dan, you should definitely react to episodes 21&22 of season 8. Those two are when the doctors take their Boards and you could compare your experiences to theirs.
Yes! Many have suggested. Thank you 🙏 definitely on my todo list!
Omg the "Zola still has both her parents line" 😭😭😭
You should do one about the helicopter that took dr. Romanos arm in ER from the 90s.. yes I'm talking about the one that had Clooney in it lol that episode always tripped me out even re-watching it as an adult
idk if anyone else commented about this, but the neuro talking to Derek meant to say that he could get back about 80% of Derek's hand's functionality
love that he knows all the characters names 🙂
I’m a fan of this show! 😀
Please react to when izzie cut Denny’s lvad wire to get him on top of the transplant list!! It’s on s2 e26/s2 e 27!! In that episode a doctor is thinking very irrationally because she loves the patient, it’s very interesting!!
Thanks for the suggestion! 🙏
I started watching from season 1 a couple of weeks ago, I'm now on season 6, I can't believe I've never watched it before
Thanks for watching! 🙏
Another great video! Hope you're well, take care!🙏🏻
Thank you for watching!! 🙏🙏🙏 and take care as well!
needed that tip at the end thanks!!
Thanks for watching and for the kind words! 🙏
Fun drinking game: drink every time he says “actually”
Thanks for watching! 🙏
And yes I actually say that WAY too much. Never realized until YT!!
I'm a new subbie. I am loving your reactions to Grey's! Looking forward to more keep them coming. Thanks :)
Would love to see a reaction to an episode of Royal Pains!! I enjoyed binge watching it a couple years ago, but I’m willing to bet that the medical accuracy is iffy, at best.
That’s a great suggestion. Seen before and it was great 👍
New subscriber here!
Welcome to the channel! 🙏🙏
Love these videos! I’d love to see your reaction, especially in terms of realism/protocol for season 6 episodes 23/24
Thank you for this suggestion 🙏
Lithium is a mood stabiliser not in the antipsychotic class though.
Thank you! That’s definitely on my todo list. Have a great week 🙏
I own every episode! Greatest show on earth regarding medical technology
Yes!! It’s an awesome show!
I love your views
@@DoctorDan thank you
Way cool u were in untold stories of the ER liked that show
I would like some variety in your react videos. I have never watched Grey's Anatomy, so I'm not invested in these episodes (though I do still enjoy them!). But I watch quite a few other medical dramas and would be curious about how you'd react to those. I'll try to make a short list of episodes for you to react to and comment with that soon.
The whole aftermath will take many chapters but maybe you could find a compilation of Arizona’s leg injury
Great suggestion!
this episode literally broke me, lexie dying, mark saying he loved her it’s all so sad :(((
😢😢😢
Season 10 ep9 for court!!! I really need ortho doctor’s perspective and point of viewwww pleaseeeee
Thank you for this suggestion! 🙏
Glad I found ur channel just found today
Welcome! 🙏
Loved all your videos... watched em all in one day
if you find the time it d be amazing to see some Dr. House or Scrubs
Love from Florence
Wow! That is so kind of you to say. Thanks and welcome! 🙏
Just discovered your channel, I love the content. I have an episode to you to react, in really two: S6E23 (Sanctuary) and S6E24 (Death and All His Friends)
Thanks for the suggestions! 🙏
Could you react to Season 6, episode 24? A husband who lost his wife in surgery actually starts a shooting in the hospital because he blames the doctors and I feel like it may interest you! I know you just said you dont want to see any other characters die but its just such a classic episode lol
Thank you for the suggestion! 🙏 on my todo list for sure!
Yeah that‘s so a great episode 😁 have fun watching 😁
I need more of thisss!!
More videos coming! Thanks for watching!! 🙏
Love your Grey’s Anatomy videos!
Thanks for watching and for the kind words! 🙏
Love these videos idk how I'm going to get sleep 🙈 you should watch the LVAD wire episode it kind of starts from Season 2 episode 25 but mostly ep 26 and kind of continues to 27.
Thanks for the suggestion! 🙏
Love this reacts plz post more 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Thanks for the encouragement. Trying to get more videos out!
Great discussion.
Thanks for watching and for the kind words! 🙏
i think he meant that the maximal recovery he could possibly get was 80% of motion as in it would never be the same again, but i agree where do they pull those numbers from?
That's a great point. But even then hard to predict an exact percentage before surgery!
Looking forward to more episodes! ♥️
Thanks for watching and for the kind words! 🙏
You should react to the hospital shooting episode. It was pretty intense.
You should review season 13, episode 4 of grey’s. It’s the Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome episode. It would be cool to get an orthopedic surgeon’s view.
Thanks for the suggestion! 🙏
Literally any episode of The Resident
Ah! This show is definitely on my todo list!
