  • Notes: Chile seedlings transplanted extra deep into small pots of Ocean Forest Soil mix. Pinch of Extreme Gardening Granulated Mycos put in seedling hole. Large humidity dome placed over pots.
    Lighting King LED 1,000 or 1,500 watt 2.5 feet above plants on 14 hour cycle. Or we use and 8 bulb T5 fixture about 12 to 16 inches above plants on 14 hour light cycle. Both lighting methods will cover a 4 to 6 foot folding table full of plants.
    We bottom feed seedlings with Fish emulsion, Seaweed Extract or Miracle grow (diluted in half strength) every other week.

    Were constintly transplating different plants at school and 90% of the people I am working on this with are way too aggressive! Drives me crazy because we have less of a turn out for what we are able to sell then what we really should have.

    I prefer to just make my own soil using ~20% Perlite, ~20%pumice, ~20% rice hulls and ~40%peat. Then add worm castings, rock dust, bio-char and use a weak seaweed or Ocean water dilution to water in. Happy frog and Ocean forest are a rip off in my opinion. Learn to make your own soil and you will never go back to the off the shelf junk.

      FYI i dont grow my plants in my nursery soil. Nursery soil is only for baby plants. I buy 20 yards of a compost mix of sand, bark and mushroom compost. I have over 600 fifteen gallon pots so would never buy bagged soil for them.
