    The Adder has a 18 shot magazine now too! But way better now is the Siege with 5 bolt magazine. The carabine crossbow Vlad is shadowed by the carabine crossbow Stinger 2 from the start. (It's cheaper but that's the only plus). Soon the Mey Interceptor comes out, that will be the superior carabine crossbow to both of these. Nice and very complete video! I enjoyed it.

    Personally, I went for the vlad because of the fact that it takes 6.5" standard bolts instead of the weird 7.5" thin shaft bolts of the adder. That and the bundle the vlad comes in is just FAR better value than the adder. I got a full bundle with all attatchments, a scope, speed loader etc. and different limbs (the standard package, actually) for £260. The cheapest adder I could find was around £280 and didn't even come with anything more than 5 bolts. £/lbs, the vlad is just better value when you take the other accessories into account.

    • @Handles_AreStupid
      @Handles_AreStupid 28 дней назад +2

      @@MsPedross Pellpax is a UK specific company. I would try getting one from a brazilian company, or else you will end up paying a lot in import duties. Also, UK pricing is fine for people on UK wages, but elsewhere in the world, wages might not be sutible to buy from the UK.
      I believe that the model of crossbow is made in taiwan, tho, so you might be able to get a provider there to ship it for cheaper than the european importers. Depends on tariffs etc.

    Adder is a better investment, but the bolts are proprietary and overpriced.
    For a compact "mini Adder", the Steambow Stinger 2 is a better alternative than the Vlad.
    Also carbon 6,3" bolts are better than aluminium, for they won't bent easily. GoGun has the Saxon bolts with steel broadheads and they are very good.

    I like the adder vs the vlad, I had one vlad but gave it away and now have 2 adders with the 7 arrow clips. With the adder you can load a single longer bow, the cranking mechanism is better for me because I’m right handed but shoot as a lefty, so it’s easy for me to crank. As you can see, it’s more powerful and a little more accurate and just feels more durable. I wanted something other than a gun for home protection and it being a repeater, it was a no brainer.

    • @orderofmagnitude-TPATP
      @orderofmagnitude-TPATP Год назад +3

      @@hullahupp well, technically the vlad is quicker to cock real fast like - when using the 60ib trainer limb - the 90ib is kind of hard, however its accuracy isn't great and only good fir close quarters. Personally id choose the adder because its closer to 150ib limb (it says 130 but actually its 147ib and upgradable to 190ib) is easy to reload and a smidgen slower due to its under long lever - but that length makes it easy, wheras the vlad is harder because it's rear stock folds to cock and shorter. Its a far bigger crossbow but that gives it its badass factor as a deterrent to anyone staring down at it, especially if you customise it as much as I have with a decent laser, torch, bipod, cheek rest and red dot (one that comes with it has terrible parallax- get a vector or romeo5 tube dot.) - but its power also means you can hit things pretty far away.
      Just like that gun meme I guess I have the adder for keeping people out but if they get in I have the vlad.
      The vlad has more rounds *8 but the adder which starts at 5, you can buy magazines going up to 20!!
      The failure rate and problem child is also higher with the vlad.
      Get the adder if you can only get 1.
      One last thing, are you in the uk?
      If so, never EVER say to the cops its for self defence. We arnt allowed anything purpose built for self defence.
      Its for target practice ok?

He even made a version of what an Adder would like like post apocalypse, with home made string, bayonet spike (zombie head punching you know), home made stock etc since everything would eventually break and need to be repaired and all that - fab stuff.

    good job. However, I have owned my Adder since 2020, and use it often for hunting---indeed we took it with us into the Florida Everglades and used it to hunt pythons, where it did a great job--so far, I have killed a wild turkey cock, more than 15 small (rabbit sized) mammals, and not counting the pythons already mentioned, we took it with us to TX where it proved remarkably effective against rattlesnakes and the wild pigs they have there. Granted, it took two shots to finish off the pig, but the fact is it worked great. As for the bolts, yeah they are expensive--and that price really gouges you when you are practicing and see one fly away over the target. YIKES. However, I did go to a local sporting goods store where I found a set of broadheads for about 3 dollars and I was able to outfit several of the cheaper bolts with them and they were very effective (as noted above). So, the Adder is my go to hunting/zombie killing bow.

Would it be legal to carry or would the easy release blade be an issue? I have been carrying it and it feels like nothing is there and it is efficient to use even without the lock as the four finger grip stops it from closing up. The absence of a belt clip and an ambidextrous one handed opening system makes it my perfect utility knife edc, very lightweight.

    I get why you went for Adder v Vlad, they're both EK Archery products and they're also what you had available, but they feel like different weapons for different use cases so a direct one for one comparison seems redundant, which is a shame because the actual comparison itself was good. If you ever get your hands on a Stinger II or a similar repeating pistol crossbow that would be a great one to compare to the Vlad. Don't really know what compares to the Adder except maybe a Siege with the aftermarket magazine but that's cheating.

    There's a better version now, called the annihilator or similar, the whole pistol grip cocks and for speed you release with the thumb. Also shoots 18 bolts. 21 seconds to shoot the lot !
    Also, you can put 6 bolts in the 5 shot adder.

    Mt adder has a 220 throwing arm and 18 shot mag, plus a tiny mod from upbolt that allows it to fir any bolt the right size. Comparing these 2 is daft, different weapons, you'd never hunt with a vlad, it hasn't the range nor power of the adder. A stinger would be the bow to compare it to.

    • @WeaponCollector
      @WeaponCollector  Месяц назад +2

      Lots of people found this video very useful, your 220lb limb may not compare, but both the Vlad and Adder can actually use a 90lb limbs so the comparison is very valid, and certainly not "daft" as you say.

Call Auto number six and you don’t have to cock and shoot it either in a bar arrows out there you can squeeze the trigger like a machine gun. Dictation on his phone is really bad what I sent and what is down is not exactly what I meant so I will try it again. I haven’t been an automatic crossbow that shoots like a machine gun. It should be the fastest shooting and the fastest on the market, and perhaps even the lightest out there that the goal . I already have an automatic crossbow. I invented a few years ago it’s a bit cumbersome a little bit heavier than I wanted to be. That’s why I’m working on the new generation as we speak. And yes I’ve already taken a deer with it last fall so yes, it’s fast and extremely deadly. Just say the least, I’m gonna be doing a video possibly September however, as you know these things cost a lot of money so that’s what I’m working on now the money part the engineering is there very possible to build well have a happy day and happy hunting wild man monk from Oklahoma🏹👍😉⚔️⚔️⚔️

    U compare the vlad to the stinger the adder is not a pistol x bow. If u use 90p u can’t use Metall bolts, the not just bend on penetration, they also bend when fired, so u need fiberglass bolts. They can be destroyed, but the don’t bend.

    • @WeaponCollector
      @WeaponCollector  Год назад +2

      I compaired these two crossbows becuase i was asked too, and its NOT common knowledge you cant use the metal bolts with the 90lb, the manual does not tell you this and they come included with the 90lb limb so you'd assume you can use them.
