He even made a version of what an Adder would like like post apocalypse, with home made string, bayonet spike (zombie head punching you know), home made stock etc since everything would eventually break and need to be repaired and all that - fab stuff.
nope, if you want to wax the serving to help preserve the life of your string you'll need to remove the mag, but it doesn't take long - you can get away with waxing every 10-20 shots I reckon although the manufactures say every 5 or so as I recall but they are kind over the top (likely to stop people whining if things break through wear and tear, which everything will eventually.)
@@turbosnowy i was thinking the same maybe 20 - 30 and it would be absolutly fine the german inventor guy fired a 100 shots whilst only waxing once, i fired 5 shots the other day and checked it myself and it was still very greasy, find taking the mag off after 5 shots is a pain in the ass, still its a very good crossbow and its super fun to fire, very powerful, just need to get it sighted in properly now which im not 100% sure how to do
Does the Vlad have the same issues with jamming as the adder? It looks like it functions the exact same way. Do the bolts get pulled too far back during cocking?
good job. However, I have owned my Adder since 2020, and use it often for hunting---indeed we took it with us into the Florida Everglades and used it to hunt pythons, where it did a great job--so far, I have killed a wild turkey cock, more than 15 small (rabbit sized) mammals, and not counting the pythons already mentioned, we took it with us to TX where it proved remarkably effective against rattlesnakes and the wild pigs they have there. Granted, it took two shots to finish off the pig, but the fact is it worked great. As for the bolts, yeah they are expensive--and that price really gouges you when you are practicing and see one fly away over the target. YIKES. However, I did go to a local sporting goods store where I found a set of broadheads for about 3 dollars and I was able to outfit several of the cheaper bolts with them and they were very effective (as noted above). So, the Adder is my go to hunting/zombie killing bow.
I bought an amtech plastic folding utility knife and I modified it to be non locking by removing the locking tabs and supergluing it so it doesn't shut. Would it be legal to carry or would the easy release blade be an issue? I have been carrying it and it feels like nothing is there and it is efficient to use even without the lock as the four finger grip stops it from closing up. The absence of a belt clip and an ambidextrous one handed opening system makes it my perfect utility knife edc, very lightweight.
@@qachinghi my friend. Yes mine does! I actually took the whole trigger assembly apart to remove the automatic safety! Whilst doing this I realised the trigger is OK to wiggle a bit. No harm.
You can't safely shoot anything other than the red bolts supplied unless you use a low power limb, they are specially weighted, you'll mess up the Vlad if you use anything else, also when I use the 90lb limbs I pretty much break every red bolt even in soft targets, at 89p theure still double the price of a standard bolt (standard bolts which you can't shoot safely as it's essentially dry firing the crossbow)
@@WeaponCollector Oh, thanks for the heads up. Do you know if the 60lbs limb could shoot a standard aluminium bolt? My bow should be coming in the next few days, and I already have a bunch of generic 6.5" bolts laying around.
@@WeaponCollector DId a bit more digging, and I'm pretty sure the "vlad specific" bolts are just the generic EK alloy bolts with a red colouring instead of the gold. If that's the case, they are only rated for 50-80lbs, which would explain why they break on the 90lbs limbs. Should mean my bolts are fine, tho.
I get why you went for Adder v Vlad, they're both EK Archery products and they're also what you had available, but they feel like different weapons for different use cases so a direct one for one comparison seems redundant, which is a shame because the actual comparison itself was good. If you ever get your hands on a Stinger II or a similar repeating pistol crossbow that would be a great one to compare to the Vlad. Don't really know what compares to the Adder except maybe a Siege with the aftermarket magazine but that's cheating.
I agree mate, they are very different crossbow, if i ever get my hands on a stinger ill do a comparison with the vlad, i will defo do a video like this for the redback xr and vlad too,
There's a better version now, called the annihilator or similar, the whole pistol grip cocks and for speed you release with the thumb. Also shoots 18 bolts. 21 seconds to shoot the lot ! Also, you can put 6 bolts in the 5 shot adder.
I've seen it on that crazy European guys channel He had a prototype about 6 months ago and I'm desperate to find out when they comes out The cartridges don't use springs so you get even power throughout the clip He fired the 18 bolts in 21 seconds lol Insane, maybe it's not coming out? Have you found anything New? I never had any name bit I googled that name and nothing
Out of interest I noticed the adder has half moon nocks and the vlad looks like it had flat nocks? Could you buy another brand of 6.5" bolts for the vlad with flat knocks and two vanes etc?
Unless you can use cheap 6.3" plastic and aluminum bolts this hobby can become a money pit always having to buy proprietary bolts. For a magazine crossbow the XR7 Cobra alligator with magazine and Readback XR are my favorites
Mt adder has a 220 throwing arm and 18 shot mag, plus a tiny mod from upbolt that allows it to fir any bolt the right size. Comparing these 2 is daft, different weapons, you'd never hunt with a vlad, it hasn't the range nor power of the adder. A stinger would be the bow to compare it to.
Lots of people found this video very useful, your 220lb limb may not compare, but both the Vlad and Adder can actually use a 90lb limbs so the comparison is very valid, and certainly not "daft" as you say.
@@mushizu2860 o.k thats the whole point of the video!, to compare them to show that one is better than the other so when people buy one they get to pick the right one! lol

No no it’s light and fast and should be really easy to operate no motors or all that other junk eater absolutely catch me out for the hunter who is tired of leaving Game in the woods.
Dictation on his phone is really bad what I sent and what is down is not exactly what I meant so I will try it again. I haven’t been an automatic crossbow that shoots like a machine gun. It should be the fastest shooting and the fastest on the market, and perhaps even the lightest out there that the goal . I already have an automatic crossbow. I invented a few years ago it’s a bit cumbersome a little bit heavier than I wanted to be. That’s why I’m working on the new generation as we speak. And yes I’ve already taken a deer with it last fall so yes, it’s fast and extremely deadly. Just say the least, I’m gonna be doing a video possibly September however, as you know these things cost a lot of money so that’s what I’m working on now the money part the engineering is there very possible to build well have a happy day and happy hunting wild man monk from Oklahoma🏹👍😉⚔️⚔️⚔️
U compare the vlad to the stinger the adder is not a pistol x bow. If u use 90p u can’t use Metall bolts, the not just bend on penetration, they also bend when fired, so u need fiberglass bolts. They can be destroyed, but the don’t bend.
I compaired these two crossbows becuase i was asked too, and its NOT common knowledge you cant use the metal bolts with the 90lb, the manual does not tell you this and they come included with the 90lb limb so you'd assume you can use them.

@@Handles_AreStupid take the tips out of a red one and a gold one, you'll see what mean then.
Adder wins since there’s only two things these have to do . 1 penetrate and 2 reload .
@@piccadillycircus9416 do you penertrate again after reloading?
I get why you went for Adder v Vlad, they're both EK Archery products and they're also what you had available, but they feel like different weapons for different use cases so a direct one for one comparison seems redundant, which is a shame because the actual comparison itself was good. If you ever get your hands on a Stinger II or a similar repeating pistol crossbow that would be a great one to compare to the Vlad. Don't really know what compares to the Adder except maybe a Siege with the aftermarket magazine but that's cheating.
I agree mate, they are very different crossbow, if i ever get my hands on a stinger ill do a comparison with the vlad, i will defo do a video like this for the redback xr and vlad too,
Hiya bud, I want the best auto pistol money can buy...is it the vlad
there a new one coming soon, the revo7, maybe wait for that!
@@WeaponCollector dude the Revo 7 looks so cool, shame about the wait time, I think they're estimating March 2025 ship dates
There's a better version now, called the annihilator or similar, the whole pistol grip cocks and for speed you release with the thumb. Also shoots 18 bolts. 21 seconds to shoot the lot !
Also, you can put 6 bolts in the 5 shot adder.
just looked it up, there is such bow called annihilator
@@shardinhand1243 looked it up, it's the impaler. EK Vlad from GoGun
I've seen it on that crazy European guys channel
He had a prototype about 6 months ago and I'm desperate to find out when they comes out
The cartridges don't use springs so you get even power throughout the clip
He fired the 18 bolts in 21 seconds lol
Insane, maybe it's not coming out?
Have you found anything New? I never had any name bit I googled that name and nothing
hope you find it m8, lemmie know if you hear any news, this crossbow series is one of the coolest damn things i ever seen!!@@daz97
which is more powerful?
Adder!
The adder. It has 130lb. draw.
with the new 180lbs kit and very important reinforced trigger!, for my goal the best option ADDER
Can you shoot the adder without the mag?
yep, you can even load full length bolts with the mag still on
Yes you can. I believe you can even get the adder without a mag.
Bellissimo video 👍
good video mike :)👍
Out of interest I noticed the adder has half moon nocks and the vlad looks like it had flat nocks? Could you buy another brand of 6.5" bolts for the vlad with flat knocks and two vanes etc?
Do you know Carl?
Carl who?
Like the Manekin Pee impression.
Unless you can use cheap 6.3" plastic and aluminum bolts this hobby can become a money pit always having to buy proprietary bolts. For a magazine crossbow the XR7 Cobra alligator with magazine and Readback XR are my favorites
great points mate, for the money the redback xr is a amazing little magazine crossbow.
Can you shoot (Chinese) balloons down with them? lol
hahaha, i reckon i could mate, lol

The Better repeating crossbow
But it's not repeating. There's many standard crossbows better than the one you linked but they're not repeating
I have both, adder & vlad.
Don't compare them.
The vlad is für my girlfriend.
Cobra adder is another Level, it's a real weapon.
Greetz from Germany🙋
@@mushizu2860 o.k thats the whole point of the video!, to compare them to show that one is better than the other so when people buy one they get to pick the right one! lol
Why you didn't test Adder 90 lbs vs Vlad 90lbs. 130 lbs is ofcourse stronger and is not proportional with 90 lbs.
I own both crossbows 😀. They both are great bows👍
I will do a 90lb Adder vs 90lb Vlad in another video , i wanted to test these against each other as standard.
The are both very good though.
Which one should i get or should i wait for the interceptor?!
One is a toy, the other a weapon.
Look joey it only made it to the Rs... lauren next time...remember they'll be no next time.

Yeah, there’s my invention that you guys are not even seeing it. Call Auto number six and you don’t have to cock and shoot it either in a bar arrows out there you can squeeze the trigger like a machine gun.
MAybe an update video to clarify and test with fibreglass bolts. @@WeaponCollector
